  1. I started a couple years ago at the age of 33 with 2 kids and a wife. Kids are 3 and 7 now. My wife and the 7 year old hate skydiving and anything to do with it. The 7 year old is just scared for his daddy and the wife is jealous of the bond I have with everyone at the dropzone and the time spent there. Spouses who do not jump can make it very difficult for you. It is a very boring at a DZ for those who do not jump. They feel like outsiders because they do not understand any of the skydiver lingo. There is absolutely nothing for kids to do at the DZ either. Most of the time kids are being told to get back, stay away from that, don't touch that! I don't blame them, i would not like it either. Now the 3 year old is a different story. She just thinks it is the coolest thing ever that daddy can fly. PS: The wife knows better than to make me choose, because she know very well what the answer will be.
  2. from everyone ive talked to, they have all gone through the same thing. And all around the same jump #. I had the same issues around jump 15 or so. You start questioning wheater it's worth it or not. The very next jump i did, the split sec. the last part of my body left the plane I realised why I jump. All anxiety went away intantly......ahhhhhh..... no one to answer to for the next couple of min. except yourself and God!!!!!! After awhile, you will have anxiety from not having the opportunity to jump. It all goes away man, just go jump!!!
  3. has anyone else added up the fatalities yet this year? If my numbers are right it is 10. This is very sad, that is almost 1 person a day this year. My heart goes out to all family and friends.
  4. I have a Hurricane and it is mounted on the outside. I had to cut the hole a little bit bigger and I hear it just fine. People always say that outside mounting is not a good place to mount it, but is in very secure and actuly very hard to get it to come off for battery change. Having it on the outside makes alt. changes quick and easy. I also had it in a protec, gafers taped to the inside. Because of the size of the ear pockets in that hemet, I never felt it in there. Very loud though. Especialy when the third tone goes off
  5. I would remove the plastic strap off the back of the helmet. I looks like a posible line catcher.
  6. I only whent down that low on purpose. I wanted people to post details on anything lower. So if anyone out there is below 1700', lets here about it.
  7. Just wondering what eveyones lowest Hop&Pop was. This does not include Base Jumping.
  8. I would like to practice this scenario. looking for anyones opinion. Would it be safe to unstow one brake and find the neutral point with the other toggle and practice flare or leave both stowed, both unstowed? I think I would want to land something that is going fast then (possibly) something not at all.
  9. When I die, I need one of you to come get the porn out of the house.
  10. shhhhhhh....... dont tell my wife, but it was over 5 grand.
  11. Don't be offended if I decide I don't ever want to jump with you again, and if I find you on one of my loads, I'm getting off it. hmmmm...... I do think you want her to be offended. I would too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Way,way, waaaaaayyyyyy too much. I find my self watching two shows at the same time, flipping back and forth. Scrubs is one of my favorite shows. But I also like House which are both on at the same time. I end up watching Scrubs and House on the comercials. Then finish watching the last 1/2 hour of House when scrubs is over. also watch LOST, Survivor, Apprentace.........ect. ya, way too much TV

  15. That is the funniest thing I have ever seen. I can not stop laughing.
  16. It's hard to believe that an acual skydiver wants to see a fellow brother or sister bounce. This is not NASCAR were some does a good crash and gets out and walks away. It is also not war where it is glourious to die in battle. We are all doing this sport because we love to do it. I hope if I am ever at your drop zone and ask for a gear check, that it is not you. I agree with the other post "SICK"
  17. I know, it just sounded better that way. dam,,, did you have to call me out like that in front of everyone? lol I was hoping no one would notice. I have a six and a three year old and have seen the movie about 2000 times.

  19. I was getting ready to jump my first pack job (on student gear) when I realized that another student had grab it and got into the plane. He was on a load before me. I was more nervous for him then I was for me when I actualy got to jump my own first pack job.

  21. thank you, have wife and kids. promissed the wife I would be conservative in this sport unlike the other sports I do........ well used to do, traded everything in for altittude!!!
  22. I live in a State that snows, so I have not jumped since last fall. I have 27 jumps and the last 4 were on a falcon 235. I weigh 180 pounds. Over the winter I purchased a J-4 with a PD 210. My question is, should I jump the 235 a couple more times, or should I just jump the 210? Is there that much differance?
