  1. That is her (and your) CHOICE. Why should her and your choice be forced on every other rape victim? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  2. "Romanes eunt domus" If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  3. I agree. GPS makes it easy, cheap, and reliable what they used to have to pay people to do (tail suspects). . As kelpdiver pointed out, the GPS tails the car, not the suspect. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  4. I wonder what they look like and how they are attached. If you found one, you could take it a bunch of interesting places that cars can't go (on a boat, up a mountain, ...) before returning it to your car to be recovered. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  5. It's a free country - why not move to somewhere the taxes are less of a burden on you? Like Gallup NM, or Bismarck ND? Is someone forcing you to stay in SF? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  6. OK, but they managed to get a million+ people on the "NO FLY" list based on similar criteria. Not a peep from Mr. ChileR about that; wasn't his ox being gored, I suppose. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  7. You, me, and the ACLU too. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  8. Since when is "Dog Bites Man" newsworthy? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  9. You're several years behind the times: www.hmtk.com/archives/if-beer-money-worked-like-taxes.html If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  10. Chemical, Mechanical (Thermo/Fluid) and Electrical (Systems & Controls). I do not operate on the basis of "belief," one way or another, so we have a disconnect at the outset. My contention is that, regardless of the numbers that may be bandied about, A) the claims of causality are subject to very sloppy scientific backing and B) the claimed solution to the alleged problem is by no means the only, or even least destructive means of addressing the issue. Let's take an example of an inflammatory issue for comparison. blah blah blah. Not a very elegant way of completely avoiding the question. Humans are adding approximately 6ppm of CO2 to the atmosphere by mass each year. That amounts to over 1% of total atmospheric CO2 added each year. So much is NOT junk science, it's a very easy calculation. Measurements at very reliable laboratories show the atmospheric CO2 content is indeed increasing at a rate which corresponds to the rate at which we are adding it. Those are reproducible measurements and also are not junk science. CO2 is a known greenhouse gas - its absorbtion spectrum is very well characterized. That also is not junk science. So how about responding to the question? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  11. Which, logically, indicates that you will take the word of the climatologist who publish their research in respected peer refereed scientific journals over the sophist rhetoric of Michael Crighton, since they are professionals in their field (and have subjected their work to a much higher standard of rigor), while Crighton wrote fiction professionally. Typically, the religious fervor comes from the same people who are in denial about reality. Utilizing the peer review process is pretty much the opposite of demonstrating religious fervor. If those who would have us believe that AGW is not real would make their case in respected scientific journals instead of in newspapers an blogs, then they would gain a tremendous amount of credibility. Until then, all of their rhetoric is nothing but an indication of the, as you say, religious fervor of the Deniers. Logic is not your long suit. Another ad hominen! You really deserve that irony score. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  12. I didnt say anything about NASA or a conspiracy. I commented about the liar Hansen. Chose not to comment on this one, eh? I think we have already established that your salary depends on your not understanding what's going on here. Ad Hominem (circumstantial). ..SNIP.. As an aside, both W and Algore are certified morons I feel a big irony score coming on. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  13. I didnt say anything about NASA or a conspiracy. I commented about the liar Hansen. Today, there is as much science that says you are wrong as there is that says you are correct in your positions. So, the debate should go on. The greenies dont want that. As data is looked at and gathered none as of yet has established man made CO2 as a culprit. I think we have already established that your salary depends on your not understanding what's going on here. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  14. Already did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_(statistics) Feel free to point out where it says that's a good ratio for public opinion. Apparently you didn't understand what you read. Try this, and point out where RATIO has anything to do with it. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  15. I've yet to see anything you've written warranting a reply. Why reply, then? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  16. That is the politically correct thing to say. Even Obama was just left with saying that we may have obtained the info without the enhanced interrogation techniques. Seems like the police are successful in getting confessions and info from suspects with the techniques. Shouldn't the CIA/military be able to do the same? If they want FALSE confessions en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Burge the evidence is overwhelming that information obtained by torture is unreliable. Chicago is still paying the price. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  17. He did agree that it wasn't torture. THAT is NOT the same thing. Armed robbery is not murder, but it still shouldn't be allowed. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  18. I posted a poll from a reliable source that supported my claim. You posted an old dizzy.com poll. If you have something remotely reliable to back your claimes then please post. I'd be happy to read it. Please copy and paste where it says that anywhere on the gallup poll page. The numbers from Gallup match the FOX poll where it was explicitly mentioned: FOX News/Opinion Dynamics Poll. Oct. 23-24, 2007. N=900 registered voters nationwide. . "Please tell me if you think abortion should be legal or illegal in each of the following situations . . . ." "If the pregnancy was the result of rape or incest" . Legal Illegal Unsure % % % 10/23-24/07 70 21 9 2/28 - 3/1/06 74 21 6 And that is from FOX A CBS News Poll. Oct. 12-16, 2007. N=1,143 registered voters nationwide showed 76% of Americans would allow abortion in cases of rape or incest A NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll conducted by the polling organizations of Peter Hart (D) and Neil Newhouse (R). April 20-23, 2007. N=1,004 adults showed 85% of adult Americans in favor of allowing abortion in cases of rape or incest. A Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life survey conducted by Schulman, Ronca & Bucuvalas (SRBI). July 6-19, 2006. N=996 adults showed 81% in favor of allowing abortions in cases of rape or incest. A Time Poll conducted by Abt SRBI. July 31-Aug. 4, 2008. N=808 likely voters nationwide showed 86% in favor of allowing abortions is cases of rape or incest. . CLEARLY Palin's extreme position is out of touch with the American public (as is yours). If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  19. everybody should directly pay SOMETHING, even if it's a token gesture (outside the sales tax which is indirect) - direct ownership of the government is necessary for all citizens Since you object to lifestyle choice having any influence (previous post this thread), there shouldn't be any sales tax, since what you spend depends on your lifestyle. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  20. Yes, we all know that you won't answer a direct question - that is very clear. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  21. Well, there we have it - we aren't allowed per the Army Field Manual to do any of the things that even Billvon thinks should be allowed, such as speaking harshly, bright lights, sleep deprivation, good cop/bad cop, they're all off-limits. . Where did Billvon write that they should be allowed? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  22. No, you just dodge and weave. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  23. Every interaction I've had with BofA has been negative. I wouldn't want my savings with them. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  24. Bump, for the benefit of FallingOsh. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  25. Reference? Blues, Dave Gallup 2nd request: How about a link that shows "a vast majority" want abortion illegal for RAPE or INCEST victims, like Palin does. mnealtx - please note the word "WANT". I said the vast majority only support abortion in few circumstances and Palin would fit into that category of the poll. My point was that she isn't a fringe right extremist in her views. If you want to show a poll on people's opion of abortion in cases of rape, then please do. OK, here's one. Really? You have not produced one AT ALL, despite being asked several times. Your "few circumstances" in the Gallup polls INCLUDE rape and incest. Palin EXCLUDES rape and incest. She is out of touch and extreme. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
