  1. Nerds Edit to add: your training schedule is very impressive ... good luck in 2008!
  2. my humble two cents: Work on: 1) Your exits - the solid exit is a key to a quicker second point 2) Good eye contact between cross partners right off the aircraft (unless you're a point launching block 4 ) 3) Anticipation of a second point - go through the whole page when you practice the exit on the ground and visualize the whole page after you do your exit count in the aircraft Edit to add: You might find this thread useful ... especially Kirk's post at the end http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=140146;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  3. Steve, its funny that you confused me with A.P. We sat next to each other in Eloy in 2006 - our teams shared the loads. Lol ... tell Chromy A.P. said that ... hahaha
  4. Nice website, Steve and congratulations with a great season. Good luck to you guys in 2008. P.s. It looks like Chromy was slowing you guys gown considerably so now the average should go up like a rocket
  5. Remember, the brain locks are not counted as points
  6. R.I.P. brother My deepest condolences to Taya, family and friends.
  7. Mariann Kramer - made 999 jumps in her first year
  8. There was an official (as far as I understood) announcement during 8-way award ceremony at Nationals - KnightTrax will represent US in 8-way.
  9. The old man is long gone but we are still learning from his wise comments. Bill, has anyone ever told you that you are a nerd?
  10. If they tie in round 11 CK gets the gold.
  11. CK Air Pollution and AF Ascent will jumpoff for Intermediate gold medals! How exciting! I wish there were more details posted in onmibits.
  12. Safety should always be the first priority, fun the second. A speed star could be even more challenging than a "regular" 5-way because the chances of having a collision on approach are much higher. Again, a person with 30 skydives should refrain from participating in 5-ways with people of mixed experienced levels. At this point of skydiving progression, making 2-ways (preferably with experienced person) is a way better choice in terms of safety and learning.
  13. Yes. What you describe here seems like a classical situation - a woman gets invited to make hot skydives too early in her skydiving progression. Think about the definition of a scramble. Are you going to be "scrambled" with 4 4-way techs (including the camera guy) or 4 instructors or is it going to be a group of people of mixed experience levels? Now think about how "safe" you will be on this 5-way at 30 jumps. Learn how to say no. This skill will help you survive the skydives that you are making now - the only way to make some hot skydives in the future. Also, at this point I would not worry about wearing the extra weights on your 2-ways.
  14. 4-way scrambles? I would NOT recommend doig it at 30 jumps.
  15. Hmmmm .... what's in that cooler ?
  16. It is in Chicago. Normally, it is not really necessary to register on-line - you can just show up before the event and register on-site . You should register at least one day before the beginning of the event and before the draw is released. If you are doing 4-way, keep in mind that there will be some 70-80 teams, so having some extra time would be a good idea. Getting a hotel room as soon as possible would also be a good idea.
  17. I had been using a Z1 since I was off the student status. I recently switched to Oxygn A3 and I like it much better than Z1.
  18. My impression was that you were trying to catch it in the air ... my bad
  19. Perhaps you should read this: http://www.dropzone.com/fatalities/Detailed/36.shtml Catching the cataway parts while under canopy can be very dangerous ....

Looks like you wasted two perfectly good hours of your life ....
  22. Do the search here - there is already plenty of answers posted. Briefly: 1) Ask for a phone number to call and talk to the seller about the gear. 2) Ask them to ship the gear to the staff rigger at your home DZ and do NOT send the money before you see the gear. Provide them with your name, your riggers name and the DZs phone number so they can call and verify the info. Do not deal with anyone who refuses to ship to DZ. 3) If you want to be nice, reimburse the shipping costs if, for whatever reason, you decide not to buy the gear.
