  1. I did not watch it after reading the comments. But why did you post it here instead of bonfire? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  2. Both were a walk in the park with an stop for ice cream at the end compared to the complexity and expense of running a national healthcare system. Canada does not have National Health. It has a national mandate for the Provinces to run local healthcare paid through Provincial insurance programs. Most of the efficiencies gained are from cutting out the huge expense of American insurance companies. Which together make up "the most inefficient and incompetent organization anyone has ever seen." 3. Lucky for you regulations require a certain level of emissions control for that plant. And have long required smokestacks tall enough to let the particulates out high enough that they blow downwind and become a more evenly distributed problem. Don't forget to thank the Lord for regulations when you say your prayers tonight. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  4. I feel this thread slipping away. Straight to the eternal fires! My favourite writing on this subject comes from the song "When I die", written by a sixteen year old American schoolgirl named Laura Nyro. The words of wisdom are. of course: Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  5. My feeling is that religion was important in structuring and organizing societies. The most successful tribes had the most powerful Gods. Not that much has changed it seems. Putin uses the levers of religion to help him maintain control. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  6. Maybe. I guess the only way for us to confirm this is to see some photos. I've never been to one. But I'm guessing there is a very strong taboo against taking pictures there. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  7. Limited market and very poor resale value. But if you are a fan, it's a nice way to pat homage. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  8. Ron's view is centred around wishing and hoping for the end times and the second coming. He sees all events through this lens. BHO leads directly to Trump and then the end times. Surely you can see that. The suffering of children is just collateral damage in the Great Arc of God's plan. It's really no more or less outlandish than fundamentalist Islam, or Judaism, or many other faith traditions. As long as people like this remain essentially powerless they are relatively harmless. If they had the power they would be every bit as evil as any jihadi. All for our own good of course. I mostly just give people room to believe in whatever God they choose. But I watch them carefully because I know that zealots of all stripes have the potential to do great harm if they are enabled. But that's not why Trump is embracing the Russians. I suspect that is because of the alt right influence. The rulers of Russia are white people fighting against the evil Muslims. I'm starting to think that is why he sees common cause with them. There has to be some reason, it's not random. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  9. I agree it's a silly way to report on the story. You are right as far as I'm concerned, there is no real story here. I never saw the movie you referenced. But I do find the photo you attached intriguing. Does that reflect badly on me? I'm not sure of anything these days. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 10. The reason you fail to see the need is simple. You personally are not directly affected by the poison. The EPA on the other hand is tasked at considering the health of all people. Not just you. If your children were endangered your attitude would be still be outrage, but in the opposite direction. " Real pain for real people, with no discernible benefit, again disproportionately hurting the poor." Pretty much describes the effects of pollution as seen through experience. 11. Everything ever published online is archived. Remember that. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  12. There you go again. I've had enough for now. I'll just let this vague statement of yours stand as it pretty much shows you don't have a real answer. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  13. The bigger bigger picture is that the reason the oceans release so much mercury is that it arrived there from legacy sources of man made pollution in the past. Mining, coal burning, chemical processes. A lot from hundreds of years ago. We did not know better then. We do now. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 14. Here is some information on sources of mercury pollution worldwide. Gold mining is the worst offender, but not in the US. Coal is the second world wide, first in America. CFLs would come under disposal of products, but I don't know how large a part they would be. Once you understand the nature of the problem, EPA effort to lessen the impact of burning coal seems both reasonable and cost effective. They don't just make shit up to irritate you. They have a jobs to do. One of them is protecting our health. Health care is expensive as you may know. It's all part of the cost benefit work they do. http://www.livescience.com/39982-surprising-mercury-pollution-sources.html Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 15. You got me, I'm assuming. But only to make a point. You have been complaining that the EPA going against mercury pollution from burning coal is not worth the price. And that they did not look at the cost. But in reality they could not make such a rule without doing so. CFLs are completely beside the point. 16. Sabre 135s are still in some demand because wingsuiters like them. It's value depends on condition. PD reserves from '96 are still the same as the ones they sell now and it's worth a minimum of $300. Vector V5 is not worth much now. 17. Because they did a cost benefit analysis. It wasn't worth it. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  18. Showing up in court for your sentencing hearing. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  19. Since you are so concerned about cost benefit analysis, let's see the one you did. EPA does them and reports them all the time. It's what they do. I got your cost-benefit analysis right here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hkkeLpbz0-Y Again, not one word about mercury. I can't debate you when you just keep jumping around from topic to topic. You don't want to defend any of your points. You just want to bitch about how much you hate the EPA. Are you a woman? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 21. So, I just read the post this is in reply to. It has nothing in it about mercury. It's about pollution caused by fracking. What part is he wrong about? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  23. Precisely. https://mobile.twitter.com/AirCanada/status/817484691783684097 Komrade, that was a story that lasted all of about 10 minutes in the confusion before it was corrected. You are seriously over reaching here. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  24. This is the first basic mistake in your understanding of the situation. What license? They don't need no stinking license. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
