  1. Billy, Yep, Thats the plane. You should come down and jump with us (starting Sept 1st any way).
  2. form what i understand, the only reason the plane goes away a month a year is so the pilot gets to see family in WV (and he flies on the weekends while he is on "vacation"). Otherwise, he is at HOME in Tallahassee, thank you very much!!
  3. Tell Capt. John Scott said "HI" Scatter and u guys enjoy "our" plane. OH- and the fact that u jump a Cessna 11 months out of the year ---- Well, thats not my problem Scott
  4. $23 cash to 13500 - 14500 pilot attitude dependent in a King Air at Skydive Tallahassee
  5. Ok you guys in OHIO, enuff is enuff. Every year you steal out pilot and plane for the month of august and we are reduced to jumping a "dad blamed" cessna (if that) for a solid month. WE WANT OUR PLANE BACK!! Signed -- Skydive Tallahassee Jumpers PS - enjoy, its really too friggen hot to jump and enjoy here anyway
  6. Let me start this by saying: I am not a life insurance sales person, I do have 20+ yrs in the Insurance business, I do work for a regulating authority: If you have concerns about the company, 1)call them via their "800" number. 2)Check them out with your state's Dept. of Insurance 3)Shop Around (independent agents are great)-- MOST COMPANIES WILL COVER YOU for skydiving, your policy will just be surcharged a "little" 4) DO NOT FAIL TO DISCLOSE that you skydive. Hope this helps Scott
  7. Yep, Go see Mike in TN. Very class operation, very friendly, very nice plane. As long as your folks will allow you, that is the place for you. Good luck and have fun. Scott
  8. Cylinder A cylinder is a space figure having two congruent circular bases that are parallel. If L is the length of a cylinder, and r is the radius of one of the bases of a cylinder, then the volume of the cylinder is L × pi × r2, and the surface area is 2 × r × pi × L + 2 × pi × r2. Example: The figure pictured below is a cylinder. The grayed lines are edges hidden from view. Sooo.... L × pi × r2 = .5*3.14*8= 12.56 I agree with John Rich on the volume
  9. that is an INSANE price for term insurance. What are you, almost dead already? lol good for you for declining. Scott
  10. We get a lot of guys from Rucker at Skydive Tallahassee. For some reason all the Cooks (wink wink) like to jump here. We are just outside of Quincy on St Rd 12. Sat and Sun 9 til the plane stops flying. Come See us. Scott
  11. My guess is that your significant other would not find it "USELESS" if you burned in. Scott
  12. Looks like false advertising at its best to me. this is MY favorite: Only SLV uses FAA Master Parachute Riggers to maintain Skydiving Equipment. Sheesh Scott
  13. Swatcop, Even suicide SHOULD BE covered after three years (not that I would hope that that would matter) Scott
  14. JOJO69, Any policy you took out more than 3 years ago is incontestible for anyhting other than fraud. So if you were not jumping when you took out the policy, then NO, you do not need to notify your company. The only question I would have is, is skydiving SPECIFICALLY excluded as a cause of death. Other than that, no worries. Scott
  15. Licensed Insurance Agent here: My advice it: Talk to your local Insurance agent. Policies and coverages will vary by state. Good companies to conatact: AIG, American General, Prudential, Allianz (just to name a few) Beware of VERY low premiums. Go to[http://www.ambest.com/] to check the company's rating (this site requires that you register for a FREE account, and it really is). A lot of insurance compaies will surcharge you policy so much for every thousand dollars worth of coverage you purchase (in my case, $5 / $1000 per year additional) but that is worth it to me. The WORST thing you can do, is with-hold the fact that you skydive if the question or one that would reasonably pertain to it, is asked. hope this helps. Scott
  16. Credentials: 12 +/- yrs as a Licensed Property, Life & HEALTH insurance agent in FLORIDA In my experience, if the policy does not SPECIFICALLY exclude coverage, you ARE covered. I know specifically that United Health Care, Golden Rule Insurance Company, and Capital Health Plan (may not be available statewide) ALL would cover skydiving injuries. The only exception would be if a question regarding you participation in skydiving was asked and you indicated you DID NOT skydive. Other than that, you would be OK. Also, As Tom stated (I think he knows everything about everything) :-) If you are on a GROUP policy (thru your employer) you are in a MUCH better position. ( I would be VERY surprised to find a limitation on ANY group policy as to recreational activities. SOME companies may up-rate your policy for skydiving but my guess is that it won't make a difference (again, thats been MY experience) As far as Life insuranace is concerned. you will generally pay a "surcharge" for being a skydiver but you can still purchase quality coverage. Hope this Helps Scott
  17. Gear price will vary according to you want, just like everything else. you can count on $2500 (all used) to $6000 (all new top of the line everythig) as far as rental gear, you should not have much trouble renting gear until you buy, it just eats up jump $$. At my DZ for example, $25 per jump, or $75 per day. Hope this helps Scott

  19. NOt so much fun DOING IT THE FIRST TIME!! lol
  20. Quote*** The Army sure can make jumping out of an airplane complicated. The army can make ANYTHING Complicated. But, I too have enjoyed the Video, and that's my old Unit too. YAY!! :-)
  21. All they have to do is quit printing the "forever" stamp, then just start charging the increased price again.
  22. I had no Idea you guys wer having such issues. I stopped by your DZ about this time last year and had a GREAT time. (2 different times actually) You may remember the buy in the 18 wheeler that drove up. I truly hope you folks have no further troubles and can rectify the issues you are currently having. If I ever get out that way again you can bet I'll stop. One of the friendliest DZs I have had the privilage of visiting. Take care guys and gals. Scott Tallahassee FL
  23. Just about anyone is welcome at my place as long as they dont mind the kids. cant see someone sleeping at the DZ (no heat/ac, food, decent bed etc) Ive got an extra room that needs use.
  24. yes, please cite. and "ballocks"?? u mean that the fact that if you break the rule, you must face the consequence , does not enter your thoughts when you say, speed, or see that new Z1 on the shelf and think, "I could just walk away with it"? hmmm I guess some are just wired diffferently.
  25. Abosolutely support the Death Penalty. as Ron White says (and i paraphrase) "while some states try to abolish the death penalty, Texas is putting in an express lane" I wish more state would. You make death a real and imminent threat, and it truly becomes a deterrant. But continue to coddle and allow killers (and others) the enjoy the "luxury" of US prisons (where inmates live much better than a large portion of society as a whole) and the deterrent aspect kind of diminishes.
