  1. The HF10´s OIS doesn´t do it´s job. My oppinion is that the cam sucks for Skydiving/WS-BASEjumping. Had a HF100, switched to a Sony CX11, I am happy now even though the CX11´s OIS isn´t the optimum. A cam from Sony is the better way to go. Martin
  2. I´ll remember this one... http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=6251&string=not_nice
  3. So I did it and bought a Canon Vixia HF100. Will take it on a jump out soon and post the results here. M
  4. Nice, let´s keep this updated, the cam looks really promising. Regards, Martin
  5. Hi, anyone can tell something about the Canon HF10? http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=16186 It looks like a potential cx7-killer, but if it has the known problems with the OIS in freefall, then it will stay in the shelf... Regards, Martin
  6. Hello, does a Icarus Tandem 365 fit into a Sigma Micro container? If so, how is the packing, is it hard to pack the canopy into the POD or is it even easy if you got a 15min call and you are on the next load? Thanks, Martin
  7. Hi, I have not jumped it yet but I have seen it flying recently from a cliff (in Italy from the ITW). The range seems to be HUUUGE, the flights and the shown performance was really impressive. Seems like a nice toy for experienced flyers. Martin
  8. Do people learn? Front loops are demanding and easy to fuck up. If that off heading would have happened on my jump in Verdon that went wrong (check "pull higher" on skydivingmovies.com) I definitely would have been dead. Why the hell go so hard? Only to prove something or make a cool jump for the cam? If you are dead you got nothing of it, neither your friends nor your family. Glad the jumper is allright even if he got badly hurt. Martin
  9. I´ve done 11 jumps on my new Trango so far and I am very convinced. Openings are nice and on heading. It has slightly different flight characteristics than a Troll, but the canopy is very comfortable to handle. It doesn´t stall abruptly in deep brakes and the flare is very precisely. I tried to do some precision landings and landed every time there where I wanted. On one jump I was blown away by the wind at the ITW and had to sink into a tight shitty landing area which was absolutely no problem, and that´s what should count on a good base canopy. The fabric is amazingly light and nice to pack, but also more sensitive than usual fabric. I got a large mesh slider on it. You wan´t miss it on your next long hike or climb, because you can really feel the weight difference. All in all: The Trango rocks!! Cheers, Martin
  10. The Trango isn´t recommended for slider down jumps. My question was why Slinks shouldn´t be used on slider down jumps.
  11. Hi all, I am interested in your opinion about the pros or contras about the use of PD Reserve/ Tandem Softlinks on slider down jumps. According to PD they are stronger than metal quick draws, so why shouldn´t they be used? Martin
  12. ..probably crappy camerawork... No, seriously I couldn´t take step with the boyz because I was drifting to the left. After my shoulder surgery 8 weeks ago I don´t have as much power in my right arm as I have in my left. I realised this on all flights I did recently...weird..
  13. You can contact the Italian locals under www.basejump.it Post in the forum, they will help you if they can. Cheers, Martin
  14. In my local newspaper is an article about the "absolute star of the BASE-jumper-scene", Felix Baumgartner, where he´s quoted, that he wants to quit BASE-jumping within the next 3 to 4 years..My god, will this world be the same?
  15. I agree, I just watched Fly the Line, the movie rocks!! Sweet editing and great flying performance. It outperforms what I would have expected. If you havn´t seen it yet, watch the movie!! Martin
  16. Most of the suits made by PF are optimized for a person around the same size as Robi, the suits will not work efficiently for people who can have bigger legwings. Kris. Sorry dude, but simply out of experience, I have to contradict! Martin
