  1. Just wondering if its going to be big. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  2. Heres to you Mr. I can't land on my feet after a thousand jumps guy. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  3. I work in Lodi as a camera person and I do see the dissapointment on their face and I have delt with it a lot beacuse they like to send the tandems here because thats where thay make the most $, just so you know. But one thing I can tell you is they won't do it again. I agree with everything that has been said that sucks about skyride! But I think that boycotting a dz just because you don't like the fact that they accept a skyride certifiacte isn't fair. Especially if thier competitors except them as well. I love Lodi because Bill believes in making skydiving a sport for everybody no matter how much $ you have thats why its so cheap. So you can try to hold the fact that he accepts them aginst the parachute center but its also good to know that he is doing a bigger part in making the sport more accessible to everyone in the long run. You can't beat $100 tandem, $15 dollar jump tickets everyday, $500 static line student course, and $1000 dollar AFF course. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  4. What happened to a phone book? What happened to actually calling the place your going to? I don't agree with skyrides tacticts but people that do it arn't looking into it enough is all I'm saying. When I did my first tandem I called every place I could find in Ca. a few times and researched what I was doing. And I bet a lot of you guys did to. 5. I agree but as you said you didn't do it because you have more sense that that and I would do the same thing. Why would you give up your $ with out knowing whats going to happen and especially where? What I do know is that when your putting your life into someone elses hands wouldn't it be smart to research it a little. I mean just enough to know where tht dz's are. Because if you just get online and buy the first thing that pops up on the screen doesn't sound like the smatrest thing to do... am I right? 6. At no defense to 1-800-sky-ride, the people who buy these certificates are to blame as well. They should do some research before the spend their $, its just common sense. In no way am I defending skyride but I need to state the obvious. Getting online and buying a certificate that could send you anywhere in that state with out doing a little bit of research on the company that its going to be throwing you out of a plane isn't a very good idea. The businesses that except them are still doing their part to throw you out of a plane because lets face it thats what you paid for, but they can't buy the certificate for you. Yes the certificates are excepted in Lodi and I'll tell you what, when they find out that its only $100 dollars to do the tandem they feel pretty stupid but they can't get mad that the Parachure Center for their stupidity. 7. Just because a certain suit might win a medal doesn't mean they are better that the next. Its kinda like tiger woods might play with a nike club but they have tested it and perfected it to his specific needs, which is most likely what they are doing with suits that have won a medal and I'm sure that they were measured right and made the adjustments that were needed. Who knows they might have gotten a free suit or even be paid to wear that particular brand of suit. In my opinion its really just hit and miss with a suit if you have to measure yourself and send away for it. But if you happen to live near a suit co. your best bet would be to go to them. That way you can easily get any alterations if needed and show them what you want. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  8. I just recieved my tony space suit a few weeks ago and I couldn't ask for anything more! It fits great with out a lot of drag and I did the measurement myself. They go by your hight and weight to know about how much drag you'll need. The best part about it is I DIDN'T have to break the bank for it. But thats just me. 10. Lodi has a ton of rental gear and it is all pretty new, everything from a 135 triatholon to a 260 triatholon and its only 35 dollars to rent it. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause

  12. We did a 6 way the other day that was pretty fun. We exited a 6 way right hand head down doughnut, opened it up to a round, then to an "S" formation, to an all out facing round, broke one grip to bring it around to a all in facing round, then made a 3 way flower with oppisite facing stingers, opened it up to a 6 way in and out facing round, then the in facing people transitioned to a sit while still gripped to an all out facing head down/sit round. We had a good time. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  13. If your still going to do it, do it out of a cessna with a extreamly long seperation between groups and pre warn whoever is on the plane. Obviously you KNOW your "good" enough to just get it immediatly so I guess I'll see you on a head down world record when you have 150 jumps. 14. You don't need a coach to learn how to freefly if your an exceptional student then you should be able to find someone that would be willing to just help you out. Not everyone charges you to go on a jump with them. Maybe you should ask someone to go with you. Its not going to hurt to ask, but it might hurt not only you but someone else if you don't. The one thing you have to always remember is that its not only you up there and even if your just trying something it could end up very badly! Just try asking. 15. Looks to me like somebody doesn't like the taste of his own medicine. I don't normally like to write more than once on a post but I just can't help myself. When you write such a generalized statement that pretty much insults all women skydivers what your going to get back is a generalized statement that is aimmed twards you. I will say that I don't agree with what I wrote, its was really just to get a rise out of him so I'm sorry to all the people that I insulted along the way. As far as experiance level goes it really does have to do with not only time but definetly with the amount of jumps you have. The reason I have so many jumps in so little amount of time is just for that, to get my experiance up there... because lets just face it skydiving is all about currency. Thats the first thing that Bill Dause tought me, with your experiance level kramer you should know who that is, if not I'll just remind you. He has been in the sport for over 30 years, he is just about to hit the 30,000 jumps mark and also has the most freefall time in the world. And he is also my mentor. The more jumps you do = the more time you've spent at the drop zone = the more you learn plain and simple. How can you learn about skydiving if you don't do it that offen? I don't get that. The more knowlage you you have the more experiance, but you can't do that so easily if you don't do it as much as you can. I understand that, its why I do it so much, why can't you? Why are you laid up? why do you get hurt all the time? Surfing isn't so dangerous if you know what your doing and what your limitations are and I know that for a fact I been surfing since I was 10 years old. Don't do it much anymore I stopped when I started skydiving but that wasn't too long ago now was it. Sorry it took me so long to respond I was at work smart ass. P.S. your no Kramer your a really old Vanilla Ice "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  16. I'm sorry but if your profile is accurate you arn't a real skydiver your just someone that likes to say they skydive. 12 years and only 1300 jumps... its just sad really. I was a surfer and now I'm a skydiver I don't try to be both because you can't be both. Now obviously your just bored and want to start an argument and thats cool do what you need to feel good about yourself and get a little attention... don't claim to be a skydiver, your just somebody that knows how to fall reletive to the ground and throw out a pilot chute. Side flying?

Steve Blinco and Miles Dasher were going to do it for nationals a couple of years ago. They did side tracking and it was pretty cool. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  18. Just to pre-warn you, you shouldn't bring your dog to Lodi... unless you want to get fired. But vary pretty dog! Congratulations! "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  19. Stood up every landing until jump #96. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  20. It looks to me that you just need to jump more. I didn't even think about trying to go head down until I had 300 jumps and I was extremely comfortable in my sit. If you can take a dock as well as dock on someone, then ok, but if you can just hold the up right position and thats it then I would suggest that you just consentrate on your sit for right now. The last thing you want is to cork and have someone in that path. So make sure you can sit through anything (people pulling you around, someone docking you really hard) other that that have a great time. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause

  22. The frirst one is called the in & out facing head down round The people in the dive are Robbie Bigway, Mike Knight, Kirby Hughs, Stephanie Soria, Mike Shrechter(?), and MX Bill. All those pictures are from the same dive. Here's another. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause

  24. Sit flying is easier to learn if you don't have any drag on due the the fact that when your learning the hardest thing is to keep your feet down, so the less drag the easier it becomes. The one thing that helped me was someone told me to put all my weight in my toes because when your learning most of your effort is acutally comming from your arms to keep you stable and that puts you into a funny position that is really hard to break if you don't correct it before it becomes a habbit. The toes not the heels, if you put all your weight in your heels you tend to backslide because your body is all hunched over. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
