  1. Do you know how many people take the static line course and pass? A lot! We have had at least 10 students take the course in the past month and only 1 failed, the guy who posted this thread. People who take the courses here are mostly stoked due to the fact that they can actually afford to learn how to skydive, I know I was. How can you say that people shouldn't come here to learn when the DZO make skydiving affordable to the regular joe? Why should't people take advanage of that? Now if you have the $ to spend for someone to say "You did great, it doesn't matter if you went out the door kicking and screaming, it doesn't matter if you went in to an unconrolable spin and the instructor had to dump you out because you never looked at your altimiter. Don't worrie, we'll make sure you live through out your skydiving career." Then go for it. But if you want to learn how to skydive and you don't have $1600.00 to spend, then come out to lodi. But be seriouse about it and don't make excuses and you'll do great, just like me. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  2. Did you see thier jumps? Did you ask Bill these questions? Did you pass your class? Or is everything you have to say second hand? I did the static line course as well, everything went great for me. As I said, if you need to have your hand held through the course then this place isn't for you. Go some place that does do that. You pay $500 for the course and you get super cheap tickets. If your there to skydive and really go for it and accept the critisizm then you'll do wonderful, but if you argue with your instructors and have an endless amount of excuses then there is no tolerance. Lodi is a place for people to really learn and skydive hard, its not a place to complain. If you don't like then don't go there. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  3. He doesn't make you finish the course in ten jumps! You have no idea what you talking about! Thats the amount of jumps you get when you sign up for the course. But if doesn't think your going to ever get it then he won't graduate you thats for danm sure. Sure he won't sugar coat it for you and suck you dry of money then tell you to go home. If you can't handle someone being honest with you and not baby you through out the course then is not the place for you to learn. Most people graduate the course at Lodi but just because you want to skydive doesn't mean you can skydive. The sport is not ment for everybody! 4. Maybe its you. I get along with everybody at my DZ, especially the RW people. As long as you give them some respect you'll get it back. But if you generalize a group so easily then your only going to create the tension, no matter what your doing. Yeah, I'll have to agree with skymama on this one, its gotta be you! 5. 0:18:0 Did a 3 point 17 way with both head up and head down flyers. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  6. He was running both planes for a while, but there was the Lodi Sequentials invitational going on at the same time. Which, by the way, went off! Just to give you a taste of went on, we did a 3 point 17 way, with both head up head down positions! Just to let you all know. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  7. I'm not going to say that I'm a serious belly flyer... because I'm not. I will say however that belly flying isn't just for senior citizens. RW is awsome, and if you have seen some of the stuff belly flyers do I'm sure your mouth will drop. I think that you should show some respect for that particular aspect of skydiving because without RW there would be no freefly. The basics of freefly all started from the knowlage we aquired from bellyflying. I'm sure that an accomplished belly flyer could pick up freeflying a lot easier than someone who learned how to jump out of a plane and just make a few turns. Just a question, have you ever seen Craig Deraird(?) fly? Not only is he an awsome bellyflyer but he is also amazing as a freeflyer! Sorry if I spelled Craig's name wrong... and for that matter anything else. "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
  8. During a skydive there was a solo that was tracking and he tracked right up jump run. So when we landed and went into the hangar a tandem master asked the guy 'Shimmy, which way were you tracking?' The guy responds 'What do you mean which way was I tracking... forwards!' And he was dead serious. Another one, there was a guy at the DZ that was wearing a tony suit, sombody asked him, 'Is that a Tony Suit?' he responded, 'Naw man, its my suit.' 15. I would go with freak' n Suits. My friend MX is 6'4" 190lbs and his fits him great. Just tell them your situation on the phone... don't just leave it up to the measurments. But thier suits are very durable, everybody that got them here in Lodi has put more that 1500 jumps on them in the last year to 2 years and just recently started ordering new ones. Good luck "Don't mistake common stupidity for common sense" -Bill Dause
