  1. Sorry for not getting back to your questions. Been real bust with work and all! The main was a Sabre 210 (also centre kit so the ammount of jumps??????, who knows) Also, the lines??????? who knows but they certainly didnt look the healthest! I didnt pack the rig but one of the regular packers did and the nose was rolled tight! I am unsure of my wing loading but i am 13.5 stone on a 210! This is not the first time i have had a hard opening which leads me to believe the lines clearly weakened previously! The question '' what was it like with so many lines broken?'', Well.............it was all lines on the front so the damn thing was spinning me round all over the place, chucking me up and down etc! (not nice) I have not jumped since(not by choice) Dying to get back in the air but as per usual, its too windy!
  2. Not a major incident but though i would post anyway! Exited C182 @ 5000ft AGL. Pulled @ 3000ft and encountered an extremely hard opening. Looked up to see quite a few lines had broke. Cut away and had good reserve above me! Rest of jump went without any further event. Upon viewing the main it appeared 6 of the lines had broke
  3. I would suggest waiting for a while till you get a little bit more experience. (i am not saying i am experienced or anything) I have done 54 jumps now and i know what canopy container i am going to get etc but i wont be getting it till i have around 100 jumps. This will give me plenty of time to get more canopy experience etc!
  4. I do have to stress that peterlee isnt that bad. Yes, sometimes things are a little slow moving but the weekend gone i done 5 jumps! Not too bad like considering the weather we have been having
  5. Dont give up. Last week i was jumping on the same lift as an AFF studant. I was talking to her later on that day & i asked how many jumps she had done in total. Her response was, ''26''! I assumed she had started on a static line course initially but i later found out all 26 jumps were AFF and she was only on level 7. She had to repeat all levels atleast 3-4 times but she didnt give up. So.................me thinks you should keep going
  6. Both of my AFF instructors have in the region of about 5000-7000 jumps and they both advised me even now, they jumps are still as good as yout 1st
  7. Ive now managed to get my CAT8 after many weeks of hoping the rain will go away Its ben over 3 months since i bgan my AFF and even then, it took me about 4 weeks to complete the full course. Well.............Ive done my 10 consoles now and have achieved my 1st license
  8. I havnt asked him to be honest. It does not bother me that i need to do one it was just something that popped into my head whilst sitting at home
  9. Just a quick query, After completing my level 8 hop ''n'' pop AFF i commenced doing my consoles, during my consoles i have been requsted to do a further hop ''n'' pop after converting to throw-away. Is this a BPA requirement or is it just that CCI maybe wanting to see that i am ok doing a clear and pull on throw-away? I am not the only one who has been requested to do this, it is everyone who does AFF at my DZ. Other ppl who done AFF else where has not been requested to do this.

    4 More To Go

Well, after all of our terrible rain the past few weeks i managed to get 2 jumps in yesterday. I graduated AFF about 2 months ago but due to weather conditions ive been unable to jump. Hopefully i will get the rest of my consoles completed this weekend (fingers crossed)
  11. I have had a cover-up and it turned out spot on. I had a skinhead smurf on my arm and i hated it so i got it covered. The only thing you have to take into consideration is the colour of your current tattoo! If it is dark, then your gonna need an even darker tattoo to cover it! Alternatively, pick a tattoo which will cover it in size, maybe change the colours to match your current one Things like that may help you get the best possible cover-up!

    ARGHHHHHH

Well...........I am what you would call very pissed off. Ive been working for this new company for 2 months now and everything was going hunky dorey till friday when everyone appart from me got sacked The manager is constantly on my back about the mistakes others have made on the files in the past. I have tried to explain that these problems are nothing to do with me as i was not even in the company when all of this was going on. The manager still has a go at me for all the problems
  14. Im not sure of the general proceedures around your DZ but at my local you have a radio on you so they can talk you down. I have to say, if i wasnt wearing a radio on my first few jumps i probably would have landed in the somewhere in the north sea!!!! As my first few jumps were static lines the talked to me from the second i left the aircraft all the way down until i landed safely. I then converted onto AFF which is well worth doing if you can afford it
  15. Peterlee parachute centre is open Wednesday the 28th of July from 10am through till Sunday the 1st of August. Hopefully we will see plenty of sunshine along with lots of jumping.
  16. Same here. A few month ago, a few of my friends were at the local club drinking beer. One of the lads decided it was home time for him and was planning on getting a taxi. Shaun, one of my friends, persuaded the other lad into getting a lift off him. As the proceeded down a main road (doing excessive speeds of what was apparently 90mph) he lost control hitting a thick stone wall. The car was torn in 2. Bradley, the passenger walked away with just minor injuries but shaun dies from massive internal bleeding. To be fair. I have drove after having a few pints but it makes you realise what can actually happen when someone close to you dies due to a mistake that could have been avoided.
  17. Cheers mate. Ive just looked at that doc and more or less told me what i neded to know.
  18. One thing ive wanted to do for a long time us a baloon jump only problem is, i think their may be some sort of restriction on doing so. What license do you need to hold etc???
  19. I had a similar problem only it didnt just nip the inside of my leg, it actually cut it i found that one of the main problems was that i was fastening the leg straps too tight. The way i resolved it was put a few extra layers on around that particular area and dont fasten the legs straps as tight
