  1. I cant comment on othr DZ's but we went to Skydive Space center (Titusville) and it was amazing. Very friendly people and great views etc. Going to 18k.............well, what can i say
  2. Well, where im from (in the cld parts of North East England) We dont notice the difference because its always damn cold lol
  3. Cheers peeps. I think i will go back to double front risers till i gain more experience then gradually build it up rather than trying to learn straight away doing 180's!
  4. I have practiced up high checking to see how much altitude i loose on a 180 turn then adding 100ft on and gradually bringing it down slightly. When i get my new canopy i was intending on starting the proceedure from scratch! My landing accuracy is prety good!
  5. Im after advice. Ive just started getting into playing with my front risers and want to get into swooping! I just a spectre 170 currently but will be downsizing very soon onto a sabre 2 150. What i am looking for is advice on how to start swooping, how do you proctice as a newbie etc?
  6. QuoteThe sooner the better. Helps avoid any bad habits like belly flyin! I like you statement.............

    Finally

Ive finally managed to get my girlfriend to do a tendem. Now she will see why i love spending so much time at the DZ
  10. I would not even jump off something that high even into water
  11. I done about 170 Flat (FS) jumps before freeflying. I was confident on my belly so got coaching of Avalore Freefly (damn good aswell)
  12. Yeah, like Allan was saying, you can buy a temp membership which lasts for 1 month but if you going to be here for a while you may as well get the full membership. Your fitness decleration needs to be signed by a doctor if your over 40 in the uk! Thankfully i still have 15 years before i need a signature
  13. I seen a tandem passenger pass out once, the leg straps were tight and was cutting of the circulation which caused her to faint. she was ok in the end
  14. Ive had a terminal reserve opening and have had no problems at all since. that was a about 150 jumps ago. Since then ive had hard openings on mains and no back problems have occured. Mind you, i do train at the gym alot so that may be why i havnt had a problems
  15. I was jumping a 210 up untill my 200th jump. Admitingly, i am sum what heavier than you but i got a demo rig while my new 170 was on order. stepping from a 210 to a 190 was a big difference. I done about 30 or 40 jumps on the 190 and now im on a 170 and its worked out great. My opinion is dont go too small too quick otherwise you may hurt yourself. As my saying goes, i have all the time in the world to downsize so theirs no need to rush these things
  16. As far as im aware you can just but a temp 1 month membership. I know a lad who only gts his arse up the DZ now and again having 2 or 3 months in between and he just buys 1 month memberships!
  17. We arrived late on Friday evening and was greeted by Jeff who offered to help unload the car with our equipment etc. First thing Saturday morning we were given our DZ brief and commenced jumpig. The people are so friendly, always making sure everything was ok and asking if we needed anything just to let them know. I have been to many DZ's now and Black Knights is by far the best! Not one person came across as being better than everyone else. They invited us to jump with them and vise versa. I would highly recommend visiting this DZ. I will cetrainly be going back.
  18. What requirements are needed before you can do a wing suite jump?

    FF1

I done about 25+ solo's before getting my coaching. Luckly i managed to get my FF1 within 5 coaching jumps.
  20. Great dropzone, Certain staff made us feel really welcome. Other staff didnt! We were made to feel unwelcome as we were not part of a 4-way FS team! We wanted to get our kit and docs checked and were asked what we were doing there as fun jumpers! Admittingly it was a GP weekend but they should have still made us feel welcome. (for other times sake) Appart from the it is a good all round dropzone I will not go there again though!
  21. Ouch, ur having a laugh ant ya. We live in the UK! Shorts and T-Shirts dont even get worn on the ground over here

    Bird Strike

Ouch, that must of hurt! Glad everything turned out ok though. Rest in piece little birdy..........
  23. I was in a simialr situation as you. wasnt sure where my legs, head, back, arms etc etc were meant to be. I done quite a few solo jumps and picked up alot of bad habbits like back sliding, arms too far back etc so i got some coaching from Louis Harwood from Avalore Freefly. (best thing i ever done) My advice would be to get some coaching also as they can give you in air corrections and you soon get used to the feel of where each part of your body is meant to be
  24. Thanks to Louis Harwood of Avalore Freefly i got my FF1 yesterday. We done a few coaching jumps then i done a solo FF1 practice jump then went for the real thing and passed
  25. Errrrrrrrrrrm..............oops, did i really say April, I mean May!
