  1. certainly will do. No doubt it will be sometime in the very cose future. I plan on going all ova the place to jump.
  2. Im going to get the rig like. I did have a rig but when i got it, it didnt have an RSL or AAd on it and i was only A license so could not jump it. I then had the problem of having no job so no money which meant i could not afford the bits "n" bobs it required. I was well behind on payments etc & the only thing that i had which was of no use but had some value was the Rig so i had to make the decision to sell it. Now i have a job, money etc i can affrord all me bits "n" bobs
  3. Cool. Well hopefully when i do come the weather is much better over there than over here. Pissing down with wet stuff
  4. Deffinitely buying the Rig now! It would have been nice to do both like. Never been over there before so would have been good to go but as you say, once ive got my rig then i can jump more, spend less and not have to borrow/hire kit.
  5. Its a 2nd hand kit from a lad at my Local DZ. Good condition and not many jumps so its not too much. Ive never been to the states before so would love to go but really want my rig.
  6. Ive got a decision that needs making. We are arranging a trip to Skydive Space center. I have also been given the chance to purchase a very nice rig but i cant afford to do both. Rig or trip?

But ehmm, you're a skydiver... you're not afraid of beer, are you? Nope, not afraid of beer. I love it, but not in halfs. Mind, when i say strong, i mean strong for my local pub! Bollocks, lets get pissed :-)

I have never really fancied BASE jumping before but as time goes by & i see videos etc i am wanting to do it more & more. I am unsure of how to go around it etc. Also, do people suggest i wait till i have done more skydives etc??
  12. One thing just to add to my initial comment which i should have mentioned in the first place! I packed this particular rig on the day of my malfunction so in turn cleared it safe to jump. Not sure if other DZ's worldwide are the same but at my local dz ppl who pack have to carry out 4 certain check stages. Check stage 4 being that you have looked over the full container etc and see it as suitable to be jumped safely. In my initial post i did critisise the compatability of the canopy & container! I should not have done so as i was the person who did clear it to be jumped!
  13. I agree totally. Would be a good idea to sit down and talk about all aspects. As you say, need to know all the pros & cons before removing the RSL! May need it 1 day! Hope not like
  14. I am not ditching the RSL due to rigging probs etc. Personal preferance if anything. E.g, if you have a spinning mal and you chop it whilst on your back you could have problems with the reserve. At least no RSL you have chance to get stable etc!
  15. The kit i have always jumped has had an RSL on it. One of the things that has worried me the most about this incident is that the RSL could have easerly fired the reserve into a bag of shite behind me! I am now considering not using an RSL anymore!
  16. Yes Lizzie, that is the kit Adam has been using and you may be aware of the odd problems he has experience previously. Thanx to all the ppl for all the feed back. Obviously, this incident has shook me up a fair bit and i have taken everyones comments in. I have spoke with the reserve packer about this rig and mentioned the problems. I will be speaking to the cci about the kit is available for hire as me and other do feel that it isnt safe. After this incident me and the cci have unfortunately, fallen out but i will still be speaking to him either way as i would certainly not want any incidents like this to occur on anyone else! Thanx again ppl....
  17. Not so sure about that one mate. I have a sneaky feeling this particular rig will just go back on-line. Hope not though
  18. Normally i would say not to the beers as it aint my 1st mal but under the circumstances i may just buy them!
  19. It was the Zerox container with contact 220 canopy. Cheers for that Kris. Gotta say like, had 1 previous malfunction but this 1 really frightened me. Not gonna stop me jumping tho! :-)
  20. Not sure whether this should go in the incident forum or safety/training but i will post it hear and iff need be it should be moved. Today i exited a Nomad at 13000AGL. Skydive went well but at approximately 4500-5000ft i felt something banging against the top of my leg. I turned round to see the bridle, line bag etc out of the container but p/c still stowed in pouch. I immediately released the p/c which in turn did not help. From what i can remember the p/c appeared to get tangled in the lines etc. I immediately cut away then fired my reserve which opened perfectly. I was doing a solo flat as i was using hired kit from my local DZ. For quite some time now people have been saying that the container is way too large for the canopy that is rigged up. When you stow the p/c and route the excess bridle it is always very slack and takes litteraly no effort to pull out the bridle. Looking back now i am stupid for jumping kit that in theory is dangerous. One thing is for certain, I will no longer jump centre kit as this frightened the hell out of me big style. Just thought i would share my not so nice experience!
  21. I had a similar incident about 4 weeks ago. Pulled @ normal height (3000AGL). canopy came out of bag as normal and started to snivell as normall. All of a sudern it smashed open causing me to practically kick myself it the face (i aint that flexible either). Same thing, canopy began to spin so i took brakes off to see if that done anything but it never. I then noticed lines hanging over my shoulders along with lines swaying in the wind so i chopped it. On inspection of the canopy 3 of the front lines had snapped which in turn were all cascade lines.
  22. Glad to hear it didn't REALLY hurt you... hope the weather cooperates and you're up again soon!
  23. Correct, rental gear so god knows how many jumps on canopy or line set!
  24. When i initially deployed everything was going as normal, the normal snivell etc but then all of a suddern it smashed open! Cant really understand it!
