  1. Just got my Canon 350d and `Conceptus` tongueswitch. When I plug the tongueswitch in (on any mode) the camera starts taking pictures automatically. The tongueswitch manual says that if this happens it`s best to switch to MF (manual focus). Well, I`ve tried this, but it keeps taking pictures by itself. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong here? Cheers, Joris. www.vandrunen.ch
  2. Was it you who did the jump? If so, good on ya mate... Just tell the reporters to get 'the facts' right next time J. PS: Edited to add www.vandrunen.ch

  4. Perhaps you should try a steel brush I personally would have taken on every battle for 'the most smelly Teva feet' and I'm sure I would have won... Instead, I simply got rid of 'em! And believe it or not, my mum is a pedicure and told me that there was nothing that 'medical pedicure science' could do for me other than advising me to stop wearing them. My feet smell nice now,.......well.........sort of J. www.vandrunen.ch

  6. Hey there, Can anybody who works offshore in Norway please contact me? cheers, Joris. PS: Tom, I hope you don't mind me posting this in the BASE forum. I have heard that there are several Norwegian jumpers working offshore. I hope to find them through here... www.vandrunen.ch
  7. In 2003 I drove to the Extremesportweek in Voss from Barcelona (2864,2 km). I didn`t take the shortest route (which I believe was over Oslo by ferry), but definitely one of the most scenic ones. I drove up to Hirtshals in Denmark and took the shorter ferry to Kristianensand and from there to Voss. I live in Switzerland as well now and a few of us plan to go to Kjerag this summer, perhaps by car. This way we could drive together. When are you planning to go? cheers, J. www.vandrunen.ch

I agree with you that the walks can be dangerous. My personal record for the 'longest' walk was 3 hours, for which I normally take 30-40 minutes. It was a step-by-step process due to the ice. Regarding the crampons: There were people with crampons on their heels and others on the toe-side of the foot and either way it didn't look that they were any better off than the people (like myself) without them. I must admit that last winter was pretty extreme though. I personally think that a good pair of climbing/hiking boots, lots of caution and common sense (if it doesn't look right, don't do it!) are more important. Karabiners (1 per person should do) come in handy too... If you plan to go to the valley around this time of the year you might want to bring your board as well J. www.vandrunen.ch
  14. Ok, but the question is.... Do you have to bite bite bite bite etc., or one bite and 'hold' it? Same I meant for the blowswitch. Is it blow blow blow, or can you give one blow for a certain amount of time and it will do click click click?
  15. Jarno, You say that you get more pictures in a jump with a bite/blow switch. In BASE, where there's generally only a short amount of time, you would assume that those are better for that purpose then? Correct me if I'm wrong. If you give one continuous blow for a certain amount of time can you set the camera so that it will take pictures for as long as you blow, or does it have to be done in 'pulses'? cheers, Joris. www.vandrunen.ch
  16. Looks like I will go and try the tongue switch first. Have had enough pratice there as well... Thanks for the info guys. J. www.vandrunen.ch
  17. How exactly does it work? Got any pics of how it looks? cheers, J. www.vandrunen.ch
  18. As I will use it lots for BASE I will definitely want to keep my hands free. A hand switch is out of the question........that's just my personal feeling! cheers, J. www.vandrunen.ch
  19. Hi All, Could someone perhaps explain the difference between a bite and a tongue switch? And what do you guys out there prefer? Bite, tongue or blow switch? cheers, J. www.vandrunen.ch
  20. Cool! That's what I thought initially, but thought I ask... cheers guys, J. www.vandrunen.ch
  21. Can you anyone tell me the difference between the two cameras on the attached pictures? I couldn't find any on several product descriptions that I found online. They both seem to be 350D models, but the silver one is called 'Rebel XT'. What other differences are there between the two? cheers, J. www.vandrunen.ch
