  1. Hey D 02, I know I said I'd video your team this weekend but what am I in for?? Who are your team members anyway? Eric? BB? Is this a UNC kinda thing? karen
  2. There is a little space heater but it doesn't make it get really toastey. You'll need extra blankets. I know where Mary and Lisa are staying and that "hotel"is full. We might have limited room at our house but I won't know that till closer to the holiday. email me with your details. My 18 year old wants to make his 1st tandem on Sunday .... yikes! karen
  3. The fox team room is history but I've got a popup at the DZ that I'ld be happy to set up for you darlin' no not that popup .... he'll be at home with me. It will be great to have you back at CSS karen
  4. I was only around for a few hours on Saturday but it was great to have the HISPAS at CSS. I was worried about the spot when I saw you guys dirt diving the rolling tube. Being behind you guys on the plane was a riot. You set up so long before the red light and stayed in that position for so long that when the light went green I was afraid you would all be frozen on the tailgate!. I funny thing was that when you all left it popped the tail of the CASA up so quickly that it bounced the entire 8 ways heads of the roof! It was a tough to exit because we were laughing so hard. The cows around CSS will panic when the shadow of a canopy passes over them....30 years of genetic programing! come back soon HISPAS. karen
  5. Chuck, CSS has had a bunkhouse for almost 30 years. But for the first few years Paul and Nancy called it "home" Congrats. please give your sweet little wife Katie a kiss from her 4 way freinds at CSS Can't wait to meet the HISPA contingent. If Ellis is a member CSS is in for some fun trouble this weekend. Joe, The Foxes will be at CSS this weekend. Will you be on our loads ...please!! I wanna see the movie .... Please . see y'all Saturday, karen
  6. There is always the Ho family. Ivan Ho Ida Ho Anita Ho I think they are for France. Would that make them French ......
  7. I'll be there ....at least in time for pig and pie! We may make it Stuart's first big outing if he is up for it. I'll try to bring a side or beverage. I've never seen Gypsy Moths all the way through, so If you get a copy of that I'd like to see it. CSS used to have a copy of Fandango but I think it burned in the fire. Heather might have a copy. Love to all the Dawns and Mikes karen
  8. The last nationals I attended was Eloy 2001. I did video for an advanced class guest team. I spent this year training with Fox Force 4 and should have gone to nationals with them as video but, my husband broke his back 2 weeks before and was still in the hospital when the team left for Perris. I love 4 way video and was looking forward to learning from and sharing with other videographers at the meet. If the Foxes attend the 2005 nationals the line for videographer starts behind me. Those girls rock. thanks again Duese karen

    Deuce is amazing

Even though I have not met him in person, he looked damn cute in my purpled striped, ruffle on the bottom shirt at nationals! amazing, yes he is! karen
  10. Accuracy is overrated. Especaily when the spot is dreadfull .... or the first group out of the CASA takes 9 secounds to begin their count on the green light. I'd give you extra points for that cow field landing I watched you do 3 weeks ago. You picked a good field, missed the power lines, got turned into the wind and I didn't observe you wiping any cow poop from you feet. keep up the good decisions karen
  11. Mike and Mike, thanks for the offers to pick up my rig. You guys are the best. Sparky and Kat just left and they took my rig with them and will deliver it to CSS this weekend. karen
  12. Dawn #1 Rancid??? I think we all need a copy of Wild Cherry's Greatest Hits or would that be Greatest Hit. I know BB would love it! What about it Eric??? Dawn #2 I miss pinky shakes on the plane. Mike, I'm sure I will not make it up there for your 100th on the 16th. Enjoy the jump and the pie. You can't swing a dead cat at CSS without hitting a Dawn ...or a Mike. If anyone is going to CSS from North Raleigh this week could you stop by and pick up my rig. It goes out of date on the 22nd. I'd like to get it repacked and make at least one jump before I go to Chester to do big way videos. Stuart is hanging in there. He has some weakness in his legs and still can't get around without a walker. Anyone is welcome to stop by the house and visit if you're in the area. miss you guys, karen
  13. "Hey Joe ... where ya going with that ....." yippee. I can't wait till your band plays at the Thanksgiving bhoogie! I'll be doing the video for the 50 ways so, I'll be there with my dancing camera suit on. Mike, when is you're 100th? With Stuart out of service I won't jump but I'd love to stop by to cedlebrate and through a little pie!. I've only been away 2 weeks, when did all the new girls arrive ... melinda , mary, margot, margaret ...???? Are they all freefliers with pink in their hair? Do they superman fly accross the grass? I can't wait to meet them! miss you guys, karen

    Fox Force 4

They are my foxies and I can't believe I'm not out there with them. Duece really came through for us when I couldn't make it to Perris. They are doing great. Check out the standings. karen
  15. Jason, Thats what I thought. The place is Bunn is kinda scary even for skydivers. But the Thanksgiving boogie sounds cool. I'd pitch in for that. There will be a 50way invitational that weekend so that means lots of folks from outta town and multi airplanes. I love this thread. I havn't been on in a while (been a little buzy) and it's still alive! Stuart's hanging in there. Sometimes he's quite lucid and at others he's really out of it. Sorry, Jason your atempt to visit him fell at the wrong time. One of the GE guys was one of the first to get to him ...I think it was Ellis. Stuart remebers your help and wants to pass on a thanks. back again, but not often, karen [email protected]
  16. mar, Thanks for the sox. They are the best. I've got them on right now. I'm on my way back to the hospital. I could use the hugs in person. What about CSS for the Thanksgiving 50 ways???? Duece doesn't know what he is in for! The DD calls will be a riot! kar
  17. Duece, If you are gonna take my place, I've got a purple striped/ruffled tank top thingy (that you girls know I love!) that you can borrow to match the team! take care of my foxy girls, karen
  18. Duece, email me at [email protected] I want to warn you about the team you're doing video for...... The Foxes rock! This is Karen, and I wish I could be with my team instead of you. Thanks for coming through for us.
  19. Katie, I got you babe! and you have "the Hindenberg!" Have you had a chance to try it out? I haven't laughed that hard in a while. We missed you on Sunday. A new 4way team was forming from the remains of others. I think they were called, "What EZ Loose Slot! See ya next weekend in Chester???? please??? karen
  20. This will be a busy weekend at CSS with the Casl meet. Let's here it for Frankenotter! Joe, We've got a 10 round meet this weekend. What will we do w/out you on our loads! hummmm, Freefly Fridays .... After the 4way season is over I may just have to crossover for a while. It's great to see the freefly scene at CSS picking back up. Welcome to the GE guys and welcome back Marion! see yall on Saturday, karen oh, and Eric "....play that funky music till ya die..."

    Frances

I grew up in the Carribean and also lived in Guam, Florida and now in North Carolina so I've done this before. 1. This a a BIG storm so if you are in for a direct hit and you can leave, do so. When Hugo hit St Croix not only did it blow the leaves from the trees but it blew the grass out of the ground. I have 2 friends that spent hours laying in their bathtub after the roof and the walls left. 2. If you stay, do the plywood thing but count on in not helping. Find a safe space with few windows and have something to cover yourself with if the roof leaves. 3. fill bathtubs and garbage cans with water for flushing remember if you loose the power the water presure may be okay for a little while and then go out later ... don't drain the tub for a couple of days or until the power returns 4. Fill every container in your house with drinking water from your tap .... the stuff at the store is gone by now! 5. Put as many containers of water as you can in your freezer. After all, without power your fridg/frezer is nothing but a big cooler. Would any sane skydiver put a case a beer in a cooler without ice! Batteries are the least of your needs. Some things you might need after the storm are cleaning supplies, paper plates to eat from. So you can save water cleaning real ones. A gas grill. Bring it inside during the storm to protect it but DON'T cook inside! And lots and lots of bug spray. There will be a great deal of standing water ( as if there is not enough in Foriday anyway!) and with no power and maybe no screens or roof or walls you have no other way to protect yourself hey guys, this is scary stuff. Please stay safe. karen
  22. Both CSS and Raeford have big weekends. Here's the plan.... Saturday AM, everyone at both DZs face SSE and blow hard! I know that there is enough hot air (myself included) between us to keep Francis out of NC until the middle of next week! karen
  23. I'm sure they will need some help to clean up. But the biggest thing that jumpers can do to help Lake Wales (once they dig Frankenotter out and clear the runway) is to JUMP, JUMP and JUMP somemore! karen
  24. Otter handles and step sizes can be very different from plane to plane but depending on the type of otter the step placement can be quite different. I'm a short video person and I have found that ltdiver's backout, step, then reach or in my case jump for the handle is required on many otters. I have had some 4way team,s Point or OC climb out before or with me to break the wind a little but I am now doing video for a very small all women's 4 way team and on many exits I feel like I'm out there all by myself! keep practicing and remember to check the placement of all handles and steps before you climb in the plane so you won't have any surprises on climbout. karen
  25. I missed Carlos when he left CSS but always looked forward to his big smile and a hug whenever I was in Raeford. Now I will miss that even more. Thanks, Carlos, for the instruction, the skydives and that big smile. John, please let us know the date and time of the services as soon as you know them. karen wood
