  7. 4-way VRW is doable in a 12 foot recirculator, so there's no reason to leave that out. :) The higher windspeeds of the recirculators make them "feel" bigger when doing VRW so it shouldn't be a problem for most teams I think. You will probably want to take the diffusers out from under the doors in the colorado tunnel though if you want to have 4-way, because those things will definitely cause issues for competitors when near the doors. At this time 4 way VRW is definitly not doable in Orlando when topped out ........ 2 way HD static is hard enough however Orlando should be getting speeds of 155mph soon so we will keep you posted.... ITS NOT THE SIZE ITS THE SPEED.......
  8. The Orlando tunnel cannot succesfully host any 4 way events but we had 87 registrants for the comp in september flying 2 ways and solo categories. Tunnel circuit would be great and i think that should include the "slow" tunnels having to adjust and fly in different speeds will only add more excitement to competition. Ray kubiak is a perfect example of someone who can do both very well. PS SVO just upgraded and should be topping out now at over 155mph!!!
  9. Just want to say that i was NOT the only organizer of this competition. YUKI TSUJI ROB LAIDLAW MIKE BOWEN RICK (SVO MANAGER) All played a huge role in making this happen. Thanks guys

  11. Skydive Deland VFS Skills Camp with Deland Hybrid XP Skydive Deland is hosting its first VFS training and skills camp. This event is geared toward learning all Hybrid has to know about Vertical Formation Skydiving. This is a great opportunity to come and get acquainted with Skydive Deland’s newest skydiving team and also learn more about the newest discipline in skydiving. Whether you’re a beginner skydiver, an old school belly flyer, or an advanced freeflyer, this will be a great event for you to broaden your knowledge of vertical flying. The camp will start off with a seminar about the VFS dive pool, dirt diving, and how to plan and execute the whole dive pool. There will be a strong focus on basics and it will be a friendly open forum in which you can ask questions, take notes or even video tape how Hybrid trains and plans their jumps. This Seminar will take place at Skydive Deland on September 27th at 9:00 am. The seminar is free to attend and will be going on till about 12:00. Starting at 1:00 pm all Hybrid team members will be available to do 1 on 1 coach jumps. Jumps will include video, with video debrief. This will be a first come first serve basis so be sure to register with Skydive University early. On Sunday September 28th Hybrid will put together groups (up to four) to start applying the information gathered from the Seminar. It is highly recommended to attend the free seminar the day before! Each group will make six jumps your group will be with a minimum of one Hybrid member and also have video. The cost of this part of the event is $300. If there is interest in doing larger sequential afterwards Hybrid will be organizing for that as well for the cost of a jump ticket. VFS is in it 2nd year as an official event at US Nationals scheduled to commence in October of this year. It is catching on all over the world. In fact following US Nationals is the first FAI sanctioned World Cup of Vertical Formation Skydiving. Teams from several countries are already scheduled to attend this event and compete. 17. I was also frowned upon for not taking my Freefall pass out girl up on her continuation jumps by the Dzo, However being one of the more experienced Instructors at the Dz most of the other instructors agreed with me and the matter did not get too out of hand. AS AN INSTRUCTOR YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY NO!!! SOME PEOPLE SHOULD JUST NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE PROGRAM AT ALL!! My arguement was "What if she had a Mal whilst being unconsciess??? And rides in a spinner or a total!!!!! AGAIN NOT WORTH $35 for me..... To live with the fact i enabled her to get injured or explain to her family why she is dead when i KNEW THIS HAD HAPPENED TO HER BEFORE. I have almost 3000 Aff jumps and unless i was teaching the groundschool would not ask about medical problems... Now i ask all my students, especially if they have given blood within 24hrs which can make you queasy at altitude.
  18. I have seen a student who also passed out due to his leg straps being too tight. I have also had a student on Aff level 5 loose consciessness in freefall around 9000ft, Happened about 2yrs ago, I had done all of her previous jumps with no incident, On the jump where she passed out it seemed to me like she might be having an epileptic fit or heart attack or dying!!!! Pretty scarey stuff.... eyes rolled back and foam from the mouth, she started to spin hard i went in stopped her and pulled her out not knowing if she was dead or alive, consciess or not, i spiralled down whilst talking on the radio!! She had regained consciessness at she says 3000ft and landed uneventfully however cannot remember the skydive and she was very lethargic and slow mentally once i got her into the classroom to talk. I grounded her till she recieved a full medical, her doctor even called me..( He was a complete tool BTW) Very rude. Anyway he cleared her to jump again, However i refused as it just wasnt worth the $35 to make that jump knowing she could be in danger and i had already witnessed it before. I also urged other Instructors not to jump with her as it could be a liabilty issue should it happen again.. Moral of the story Dont get complacent as an istructor every jump is different and you always need to be ready to take action..

  20. yes pretty much what Ari said is cool however i have included another option for you. You could just do Wind tunnel AFF with Skydive University at DeLand that way we can take care of your jumping and tunnel using the same Instructors for both. Skydive university are the only company with an AFF program specifically designed around wind tunnel training, and in less jumps than a regular Aff program. Check out our web site or pm me if you have any questions. All of our prices are on there. www.skydiveu.com
