  1. Hi guys! I live in Vancouver, and I'm planning to visit ifly Seattle once per month. I'm a RW flyer and I looking forward to learn freefly. I need a coach (to begin from the basics) and someone to share block times with me. Thanks. Leo Holanda
  2. Hi, I search this forum about how to delete my own DZ, but all the messages about this subject people ask for deletion and there is no answer explaining how to do this. The answers are always something like "ok. it's been deleted now". Leo Holanda
  3. The point is not about if main ones are good or not. I'm sure they are perfect. The point is I have an idle set of reserve slinks at home and the set installed on my main soon will need to be replaced. Leo Holanda
  4. So, why don't always use SR-1 instead of SM-1? Just beause they are a little cheaper? Leo Holanda
  5. Sorry if this has already been discussed. I promise I searched for the keywords "s-link", "slink", "softlink", "reserve" and "main" , and there was nothing about this. I would like to hear experts riggers opinion about using slinks made for reserve to a regular (not tandem) main parachute like a sabre. I know if something is not made for another thing it should not be used. I just like to know if someone can foresee any malfunction caused by use for reserve slink on main canopies, and why. 6. Hello Birdmen! I'm going to USA on july. Most of my flight were solo, except 6 of them. I would like to take this chance to practice flying with other skyflyers and maybe do some flock. Do you have any suggestions? Who should I look for? Blue skies! Leo Holanda Fortaleza - CE - Brazil Leo Holanda
  7. I had the same problem. But I was able to fix by myself (not exactly a fix, but a "workaround" ). Leo Holanda
  8. Hey! Wait! I depends on your mac! Most (if not all) Macs today, do not come with serial RS232 (DB9) port. They come only with USB and Firewire. My foretrex 201 is not USB! So I could not connect it to my mac, only PC. But, if your Mac has a serial RS232 port, that's all right. Although, if you have already bought the foretrex, you can transfer the data from the unit a PC computer (if you also have one), save the PLT file and then transfer the file for use on your mac... 9. Has anyone did it already??? Leo Holanda
  10. When someone ask me what wingsuit make and model are ok to do first ws flight, I used to mention some models from bird-man and Phoenix-Fly. Today, there a growing number of models and also new makes. I know that some models are best recommended for first flights like classics or prodigy, but some models does not represent a problem like GTi or Phantom. But there are some models there are really not recommended for first flight, like all Skyflyers (and s3, s3s, s6 gibr) and Vampire V-1. My question is: What other models and makes are really not recommended other than skyflyers and vampire? Leo Holanda
  11. Are they going to release Phialis? hehe (Sorry for my previous misspelling... I cannot edit the post anymore to correct) Leo Holanda
  12. Patrick Gayardon made the biggest radical design. The rest are merely performance and aerodynamics improvements and natural evolution. The most important is that we are able to fock together and longer no matter if you are using PF, BM or any other great performance suit that exists today. 13. This topic begun to be discussed in the mean of this post: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1216467 Leo Holanda
  14. I've done once with my friend Michelle out of a cessna 185. No problem, just easy. It was her birthday! Leo Holanda
  15. Thank you guys for the explanation. I'm using JVC DVM70u ([link]http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL006210&page=3[/link]). It was discontinued a long time ago. This was why it interested me: too many flockers using the same format, I was thinking that these expensive HDV were becoming standard. Thanks! Leo Holanda
  16. Hello, as i could see the video is in widescreen. Did you guys use widescreen camera or was it cut by the video software? If it was a camera, what make and model was it? Leo Holanda
  17. Sorry, i didn't pay attention i the part you wrote "how easily the person rolled over at the end" But my question still remains: the root cause of the spin is the leg wing or it can also be caused by arm wings? Leo Holanda
  18. Did you also use the LQRS? I had already a flatspin in my S3 once. I didn't cut the arm wings. I tried to play with the arms position but that was no effect and I noticed that most of the spin effect was being caused by the leg wing when I started to play with the legs position (I have disability in my right leg). But I was one able to get rid of the spin going to the "ball" position, cutaway was not necessary. Is that true? Most of the effect to the spin is caused by the leg wing? Leo Holanda
  19. I'm don't know about this one. But this is why I suggested to put "Check also the user's guide of the wingsuit manufacturer for specific Pre-requisites" Because, even if today there is no wingsuit with less requirements than described, we don't know what is going to come in the future. This can be true for more requirements too... Leo Holanda
  20. You could also add here: "Check also the user's guide of the wingsuit manufacturer for specific Pre-requisites, since it can vary from model to model. Leo Holanda
  21. Does anyone know what music are these on the trailer? The movie site lists all the music in the complete movie, but don't evidence the trailer music. So cool! Leo Holanda
  22. May I ask the name of the music? Sounds like Chemical Brothers or Crystal Method... Great video. Leo Holanda
  23. Great infra-structure, staff experience, escape areas. But the landing zone itself is not too large for beginners.
  24. I know a store (but it is in Brazil) that sells a kind of signal repeater for use inside cars. It works as external antenna but for devices which don't have antenna attachment. I don't know the name of the product, neither where it is manufactured. But I'll get this info for you. Leo Holanda
  25. I agree with this position. Regulating wingsuit is so subjective to the many different models. The Brazilian Parachute Confederation regulates that wingsuit jumps are restricted to D lic. skydivers. A big mistake in my opinion... What about the big differences between any two models of wingsuit available (e.g. PF beginner suit x Skyflyer.3)? Like canopy piloting I think it is better not to regulate and let it to the manufacturer recommendations. Birdman has it's own flight manual, also does Phoenix Fly, and I believe all others have one.
