That is true. But the rate of success in making people be monogamous is, and always has been unacceptably low. People do not sleep around because they have condoms, people sleep around because they are people. Condoms make it much less likely that they will spread diseases like HIV in the process. When an authority like the Vatican wades in saying "Meh, don't bother with those, they don't help at all" and waving around false 'scientific' data then that is a major problem. As Errol pointed out I was using SA's health minister to draw a comparison, not saying that SA was Catholic. There are other parts of Africa where Catholicism has massive followings. There is a unanimous consensus between all 5 major world health organisations that properly used condoms block the transmission of HIV. They can consider them their own. They should not, however, consider these thing exclusive to Christianity, or even originally Christian. True, And quite different from Jakee's 1st post. Call it mildly reactionary. Also, Lisa's first post says "you can't change what Christmas is about." If the early church hadn't changed what Christmas was about then we would no longer have it at all. These things do not stem from Christianity. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

So, decorated trees, giving gifts, family gatherings aren't Christmas traditions? Nope. they are traditions from the various pagan winter soltice festivals that were originally banned but (bowing to popular pressure) eventually co-opted by the church.
