  1. No lollies for you ya filthy malingerer!!!!!
  2. Does anyone even know why this subject has suddenley come up? Fuck if were gonna start apologising for shit we'd better make a big fucking list!!! Did we ever make any apology for the 'Christian' Crusades??? Seems like PC BS to me as has been said. If Tony Blair wants to do something relevant and worthwhile he could do maybe the following; apologise to his voters for taking them to a war based on lies. (You remember, the little lie about weapons of massive destruction). Then maybe we could apologise to the people of countries like Rawanda....'sorry we ignored you guys but you didnt have any oil' Then I think we should apologise to the people of third word countries employed in sweat shops. They ARE slavery, they are still here and WE are still profiting from them. Well, someone is. Smokescreen Bullshit I say.
  3. Haha you just wanna see me without pants on...its ok you can admit it..were all perverts here
  4. Ok somone suggested looking at the ops manual...always one! Good idea. A careful read reveals (for the UK) that yeah you can fly parachutists with just a PPL; as long as you go through a series of BPA tests both practical and theory. Im think Im reading it right..no mention of commercial licence, just a licence appropriate to the plane you intend to fly. Other requirement are 100 hours PIC; 75 hours if you have your red 'C' parachutists licence! Job done! Instrument and night ratings as appropriate/required for normal parachute operations. Im thinking if your in the UK and you want to build your pilots hours up, you approach every UK dopzone and tout your flying for free, see who bites? Seem a fair idea? Anyone out there interested??!! Id have thought some smaller dz would go for this offer considering the pilots fees they could save. I bet some killjoy like Insurance fucks this idea up.
  5. Last year a guy in England had to go to court for fucking his goat. He was caught in the beastial act by multiple witnesses. They all saw him balls deep from the windows of their train that passed his allotment... Make sure you fuck your goat indoors.
  6. Damn it! Ok thanks guys. How the hell do people fund the flying hours from PPL to commercial pilot? ..sit right seat and watch....now why didnt I think of that?!!!
  7. Can anyone help with the above question? Can you pilot a jump plane with just a PPL? If 'no' what ratings do you need? I am contemplating investing in the PPL and imagine it would be a great way to get your numbers up..if you can. Thanks in advance. Ollie
  8. 2007 : The Plan 1. Do not piss in your jeans on your birthday this year. End message.

  12. Hahah..that bad huh?? Hmm hadn't thought of that.
  13. So you guys (american people), had her on TV. I refer of course to Sir Paul McCartneys nemesis, Heather Mills.... Apparently she'd rather have all her limbs chopped off than go through that again? What did you guys (american people) make of her?
  14. Stick at it... pretty soon it will 'click' and come together; youll be a skydiver as opposed to a terrified person falling. breathe, smile and relax in freefall. I was terrified, now I love it and you will to. Ollie
  15. Hello People! Can someone tell me whats the digital stills camera of choice? It will be for freeflying piccies; so i guess not one of those huge old skool things? Also, do people tend to set the camera for continued pictures just before they jump, or go for a bite switch? Thanks for your help guys! Ollie
  16. Hi There! Did you get your first rig yet?? How is the quest going?? Its a toughey getting your first gear; so many questions haha. Ive only a few hundred jumps but heres my expereince. I managed to pick up a Vortex (south african javelin cheapey copy) for about 1400 pounds with a 170 main. It was freefly friendly and therefore a 'modern' peice of kit. It was a good rig to me and I put about 100 jumps on it. Your problem will be availability, first time rigs of that size are gold dust in the UK, especially ones that fits you reasonably well ie. in the harness! So dont worry about downsizing and all that, just pick up something that is suitable for you and your skydiving skills NOW as has been said. (Plenty of threads about that). A complete rig instead of a mix - match of bits is better in my opinion. Go for a complete new rig maybe next year; for now pick up whats available and crank those jump numbers up. Otherwise you might wait all summer with a head full of questions trying to peice stuff together! Good luck Ollie PS From your details (exp, weight etc), id say a 170 would be a sensible choice, but go ahead and read the threads on canopy selection there is always good advice on this here. Have fun
  17. The worst possible news, absolutley heartbreaking. My Tribute to Shanon I dont know the ettiquete to this so Im just going to let it flow and what will be will be. I first met Shannon in 2000 whilst hunting for a place to live in San Francisco having recently arrived from the UK. Its wrong to covet those you live with i know..but who could help themselves? She was beautiful, smart, hilarious, warm, wild and kind. Also she had a silver Mustang and thousands of bottles of Argentinian wine in the garage!!! To my delight she took a shine to me and we lived together as a couple for over a year; one of the most fantastic years of my life. Several lodgers came and went from our happy/crazed apartment in Glen Park and one invited us to do a 'tandem' skydive at a place called Bay Area Skydiving... I was dubious but Shannon was adamant we both go. We went and were hooked. We were back a week later pouring money over the counter to do the AFF course. We started on the same day, but thats where the similarity ended. Shannon was the model AFF student. Passed all levels first time, exuded confidence, grinned endlessly and socialised with her new friends to be. My AFF was spent in quiet personal terror in the horrid toilets outside, I failed levels and terrified at least one instructor. Despite this we were both consumed completely by skydiving. We drove our friends insane with jump stories and 'skydived' round the apartment wearing our freshly bought altimeters..so childish, so much fun. We split up eventually of course but thankfully after the emotions settled we remained friends chatting (mostly total shit), regularly online. From the UK I watched in awe as her jumps numbers rose exponentially to mine up and up and up. She was always a wild child but it was as though skydiving had just been there waiting for her. Not just in the jumping but in the community and the love to. Her love is repeated in the messages here over and over. Maybe its a lesser known thing that she was also a very clever girl to. She did a pretty good job of hiding this, preferring mostly to discuss favourite topics like ass sex or intoxication. The last time I spoke to her was about her imminent selling up and RV trip. At first I ribbed her about it, laughing that she was quitting her job to become a red kneck hobo in a trailer. Later I felt bad about what I had said (I dont know why she ribbed me mercilessly at every possible opportunity!). I said I thought it would be a wicked adventure and we pondered the places she might live in the future..... To Shannon. Thanks for a million fantastic memories. Thanks for teaching me that its the little things that count more than anything. You are woven forever into the fabric of my life. I never stopped loving you and can never forget you. To Bob. I didnt know you but Im sure of this. You were the peice of the puzzle that had been missing in Shannons life. She was uncompromising in her relationships...you were either in or you were out. I cant even imagine how you feel right now but i hope its some solice that you helped make her short but amazing life whole. To the community. I see a lot of posts on here that send there love to her family. Take it from me you were her family and I think you have done her proud, its amazing. To anyone who feels im talking out of place here; please remember that time doesnt change how you have felt about someone. My love to everyone who feels the loss of Shannon. Ollie.
