  1. Hi rush, About a week or so ago, I asked you to provide a cite for some claim you made. You have never responded; not so unusual for you. In that vein, why should anyone show you 'who said what?' Jerry Baumchen
  2. Hi bob, Possibly; the one that I mentioned is one that I read about in the late '60's to very early '70's. Jerry Baumchen
  3. Hi Terry, One thing I noticed is that the rod from the right side pedal to the arm to lift the presser foot is missing. This type of stuff scares me when buying without seeing it or trying it out. Jerry Baumchen
  4. Hi Brian, OK, Plan of Action. Tell the wife that you think a springtime trip to the great city of Portland, Oregon would make the perfect getaway; great restaurants, motel right on the river, micro-brew capital of the world, etc. Drop by my place for a look-see, we'll all go have lunch and then you convince her that you do actually have room to setup some more machines. Yes/no??????? Jerry Baumchen
  5. Hi Ken, You mean like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16th_Street_Baptist_Church_bombing Jerry Baumchen
  6. Hi Nat, You're not even close to the point of no return. The closest that I have ever read about was the gal & guy who were standing in front of the preacher. The guy turned around and asked everyone to get out the photo that was taped to the underside of each chair. The photo was of the gal & the best man having sex. That sort of put a halt to the show. 7. Hi Brian, I have a Pfaff 3334 that I bought last year on a recommendation from Al MacDonald. The table that I built for it is 35" wide; and I could have made it smaller. I bought this 3334 head from Herb Jaffe in New York, refurbished, modified for a 42 stitch center-start-stop for $1300 delivered. As Al said to me, 'I would do business with him again in a New York minute.' Herb is in his 80's but he is a very ethical guy to deal with. How much money you got? Jerry Baumchen
  8. Hi Mark, I've been to your facility and there is no argument from me that you have a lot of sewing machines. I have seven machines and have built every table myself, for a lot less than $650 per table. Yes, one can buy retail; but I'm a DIY'er; attached is a photo of my 132K6, the table is 30 x 57. Jerry Baumchen PS) Just so people know; I consider Mark Lancaster ( MEL on here ) as one of the most knowledgeable people that I know when it comes to sewing machines. And he also will help with advice at anytime. But, I still prefer my 132K6.
  9. Hi prop, Everyone, including me, is offering opinions; to take them for what they are. IMO be facing into the wind, just before touchdown do a nice full-brake landing, don't use rear risers; PC's have very light toggle loads. Lowell Bachman, late owner of ParaGear, was a many times US Nationals judge. He would always make the wind dummy jump. He did not do the normal down-wind, crash & bash accuracy jump. He always turned, fairly high up, for a nice up-wind landing. One year he got a dead center doing this. It can be done; but do not count on it. Jerry Baumchen PC Ser #363
  10. Hi Brian & Mark, One can always find cheaper. It really comes down to what do you get for your money. The last Class 7 that sold in this area ( that I know of ) sold for $4500; yes, it was in fantastic condition. The OP has not mentioned what he is paying for the three that he is buying. I can get everything that I want to sew under the 132K6 presser foot. Brian mentions seven layers of Type 7; when would anyone need more than that? More room under the arm would be better; I agree on that. I have built my own, larger tables for all of my machines; it is not that hard to do. Yup; as I have said before on here, I have owned three Class 7 machines and will take the 132K6 over all of them. One feature that I really like about the 132K6 is the foot pedal presser foot lift. This allows you to lift the presser foot with your right foot and then have both hands free to control the materials that you are sewing. I suppose for enough money a Class 7 could be converted to a foot lift. It really comes down to blonds or brunettes; they both will do the same for you. Jerry Baumchen
  11. Hi rush, If there is another dumb Democrat out there, I'm all for knowing who it might be. Unless you can provide a link, as I did, I'm thinking that you just 'made that stuff up.' Life can be cruel & mean, Jerry Baumchen
  12. Hi heels, ' . . . the Democratic mayor of Roanoke, Virginia, David Bowers . . . ' The links still opens for me just fine. Jerry Baumchen
  13. Hi Michael ( once again ), From the linked FAQ's: 'For many years, industry has requested that FAA, TCCA, EASA each accept the exporting authority's TSO approval and eliminate their approval and issuance step as the importing authority.' I'm thinking some private industry types went to their congress critters and said that they wanted the FAA to get off of their fat a$$e$ and get this done. Just my $0.02 on this, Jerry Baumchen
  14. Hi Michael, You might contact Brian Murray ( BrianM on here ), he has my old 132K6. Since his is a fellow countryman, he should offer an unbiased opinion. Jerry Baumchen PS) Also, Al MacDonald is currently rebuilding a 132K6.
  15. Hi Ken, This one is: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/virginia-mayor-compares-barring-syrian-refugees-japanese-american-internment-n465877 Jerry Baumchen
  16. Hi John, That was very interesting. As I have said for many years ( 42+ yrs as a Republican ), I did not leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me. It's too bad rushmc cannot see or understand that. Who's going to the right - who's going to the left: It is very simple geometry. Jerry Baumchen
  17. Hi Don, More importantly, it was so we could put missiles in their country. We wanted to surround the Soviet Union with missiles as close to the USSR borders as we could. Jerry Baumchen PS) If I remember correctly, the secret discussions/agreements between JFK & Krushchev was that they take their missiles out of Cuba and we would ( secretly ) take ours out of Pakistan.
  18. Hi Jim, I would expect that to be the case. But since parachutes fall under a TSO, they would have to be included. Otherwise, you open a can of worms that no one could ever figure out. It will be interesting to see how this all works out, Jerry Baumchen PS) Someone up thread mentioned something about the 1-yr repack cycle in other parts of the world. When it came down on how to pack a canopy in a container, the FAA said to use the container's packing procedures if different than the canopy packing procedures. I am of the opinion that this would be the best way to go. Let's say you have a US-made canopy in a European-certificated container; then use the rules & procedures for the container. What do you folks out there think about this???????
  19. Hi Cliff, Probably; see here: http://www.sife.at/ I understand that they currently hold a ETSO. Jerry Baumchen
  20. Hi Ken, I don't either. I try to stay away from people of that thinking. Re: 'Many Americans are threatening to move to Canada if the U.S. allows Syrian refugees into the country.' Please, oh pretty please; would you just take them? Jerry Baumchen
  21. Hi heels, My apologies; a very dumb typo. Poor proof reading on my part. And thanks for the correction, Jerry Baumchen
  22. Hi Nic, Old news for us that live here in big timber country. These machines have been around for a very long time. You need to get out more Jerry Baumchen
  23. Hi folks, Re: The globalization of aviation is creating complex business arrangements and challenging the FAA’s traditional regulatory model. This IMO is the world being way ahead of the FAA. Jerry Baumchen
  24. Hi folks, I just received the attached document which might be of interest to you. Jerry Baumchen
  25. Hi rush, Do you have a science based education? If you did, you would understand that as you move to the right, everyone else appears to be moving the left. Just something to consider, Jerry Baumchen PS) In 1980 G W Bush campaigned in Oregon for the Rep Presidential nomination. At that time he was pro-choice and thought Reagan's policies were voodoo economics. Do you think he changed his mind when Reagan asked him to be his running mate?
