Just wanted to say whatever you need to go through you will be fine and it will be worth it...my mate damaged her knee on her first ever AFF...continued through AFF but has now, sadly, given up...that was August this year...so your posting gives me hope that she may one day try it again!

While I have jumped a turbine, my regular plane is now a Cessna 185 and although its small, its cosy and warm (nice little heater going on!!) Id defo prefure to jump that then not jump at all! Not all of us are lucky enuf to have a turbine available!!! I say jump what you're given and find ways of making it even more fun!! I would definitly be tempted to pull high, guess it depends where I came in leaving the plane, if I was last out Id just hop and pop at any old height...although would be bloody cold this time of year...I would probably leave it a little longer....but defo wouldnt go as far as to say I would guess where I normally dump...guess some ppl have better alto awareness than others...! That's not always true. An AFF student at my DZ that just came up through the AFP program was arched out so far that the AFF instructors could have played cards on her back under her rig! That's just a recent example. Very true! I was so arched on my first jump that when we got down the instructors were like "Do you HAVE a backbone?!!" Hey there, I need a little bit of advice...I recently bought a complete rig which comprised of a Javelin conatiner, sabre 150 main and pd 143 reserve and cyprus...however I had only done about 25 jumps when I bought it, and wasnt too happy jumping the 150 until Id done at least another 20-30 jumps on something bigger...so I bought a falcon 175. The 175 is in good conditions, according to the rigger I spoke to it doesnt need anything doing and the lines are good for another 500 jumps...I will only have done 20 jumps on it since I bought it. Any idea of how much I should sell it for? Being new to the sport I have no real idea! Thanks in advance! Im not sure if anyone out there can help me, or has been in this situation, but I am at university and a part of the sjydiving society...however the society is skint and the student union refuses to subsidise the club on the grounds of the sport being 'dangerous'. Does anyone have any tips for me on how to tackle this, or know anyone whos been in this situation? I am very eager to expand our club, but without any funds its proving hard! I started my training doing RAPS but after just one jump I decided I was too eager to get qualified and I also worked out that it would work out a similar price overall if I did AFF instead, just seems alot at the time! I did my AFF in France at GAP and it was £770 for the full course of 8 levels and then I paid £20 for each of my 10 consols...the whole trip was wicked and its in the french alps! Im at uni in Lancaster...we also have black knights near by, the only reason I went there originally was because the uni society uses cark...altho I wouldnt sing too highly of the society, hense organising my own AFF in France!!! I hit a flag pole on an early jump, turned out wind changed direction at last minute, but wasnt too painful...didnt hit it really, just ended up with me and half the parachute one site, and the half the other side! The Uk is a rip off as far as AFF I think! I just got back from gap in France, where my course was £770 for the full 8 AFF jumps, then 31 euros each for consolidated jumps, so including everything (flights, accomodation, AAF and 12 extra jumps) I paid £1300! Its the way to go However back in the UK now and its very expensive again, my drop zone in Lancashire is saying £18 per jump PLUS £10 for kit hire! I can pack but I need to sort my packing certificate...thats what you should do, cos paying a packer is a waste of £££!
