I understand that my 1080i footage is not film /studio quality. I am asking if anyone has found an encoder/ dvd authoring program which gives a quality of picture(not content) that is aavilable commercially

Just wondering if anyone has a good HD to dvd workflow. If this has already been covered, I must have missed it. Everything I have tried sucks. I usually use premiere/ encore but have tried avid, dvdit, procoder3, sorenson squeeze, and a ton of other encoders/burners/nle's. Nothing gives good quality. My best is edit in HD, burn back to tape then record on hardware recorder at the DZ thus lack of menu control. Hoping someone out here has commercial experience with DVD's. How does Paramount get a DVD burned with the quality they have? Obviously SD is not Bluray but I have seen DVD's with good quality that were origionally shot with HD including quite a few movies I have worked on. I know that it can be done. I don't want to have to buy a Panasonic. Are there any differences between HC3 and CX100 in the download(hdv encoding?)?

Any new news on when the bridge will open?

Try opening a drop zone. It worked for me. If you look at total investment, jumps only cost about three times as much as they used to. At least now I don't have any free time to waste with something like a job.

5 days 15 jumps only 1 chop (good compared to my record) over 300 gallons of alcohal new years eve (that's what it felt like Sunday morning didn't have to do one tandem, aff, coach, student video, or yell at someone for landing like a moron, fill any plane with fuel, stay up late packing student rigs, or, and this is the best, clean up the DZ the next morning! Great vacation..

If you want to do it the cheap way, just open up a drop zone. Then you have a 182 just sitting there and if you own one you might as well be able to fly it. No plane rentals, just find a CFI. One of your pilots probably is one. Real Cheap. If you don't consider the tens of thousands to open, the thousands each month lost for the first couple years, the lost revenue for every hour you fly instead of sending jumpers. So I guess I was wrong. Not the cheap way. However, the pucker factor I just got for flying the first hour to break in my newly overhauled engine (which I helped to put together) all with my 60 some hours of flying time was definitely worth the 20 thousand or so ticket. Didn't want to try to sound cool. That was just absolutely the scariest thing I've done in a long while. AWESOME!

I guess by the BSR's you don't. But, officially, until you have an A license you are a student and I don't want to do student jumps out of a specialty aircraft when it's not necessary. Also, practically, the first 20 to 40 jumps(depending on the person) there is enough going on in your head just making a skydive like any other. I'd rather not add extra concerns to some one at that level.

Definitely don't jump up. Do wear a rig. Do have an A license. Do have fun. Do bring your case of beer. We'll see you here. For anyone that didn't get that, you need an A license to jump the helicopter. It will be going to 8500 and is just another aircraft.(A pretty fun aircraft) We will be giving briefings to all who haven't jumped one before. So if you don't know then ask.

Hey guys there is one more out there. US! Skyduive Mesquite is the only drop zone that likes fun jumpers. Extreme Vegas will let you jump but only if there is an empty load and for a high price.
