  1. wait, is this correct? you're going to go from a 120 to a VX94? and just that weekend? AND jumping in on a canopy flock dive? I don't think it's such a good idea. Please reconsider.
  2. not the first version. http://codex.gallery2.org/G1-G2_Comparison scroll down to Feature Chart But even with DB, like you said, any decent hosting provider has that stuff, so installation of G2 is not too hard
  3. Gallery is free and is pretty simple and has decent plug ins and features
  4. My neck is hurting just by looking at it... No offense to the owner, but i think it's a horrible set up for your neck. SoFPiDaRF - School of Fast Progress in Downsizing and Radical Flying. Because nobody knows your skills better than you.
  5. Hell yeah! Love the Farm. The Ranch Invasion (or rather Russian Invasion) of the Farm next week. I got 4 or 5 of my Comrades coming, plus honorary Russians - Pia and Teeling. "Ya'll" better watch out, keep the dogs away, or it's Korean BBQ time. Eeehaw, motherrr bitches. P.S. Buddy is safe. Nobody eats Buddy or they answer to ME!
  6. you learn how to do a half way decent 270 yet? I'll get my boy Shane to coach you at the Farm, he was killing it with 900 jumps, i am sure you can give you some tips, tubby. P.S. what the hell are you doing up at 5:11 AM?? Getting a double whopper with cheese from Burger King?
  7. Downsizing from a 110 to a 79 is a bad, bad idea, 31 sq ft that's a HUGE drop in canopy sizes, especially when you go sub-100. No matter how many jumps that person has 1000 or 10000, they should follow a gradual downsize pattern, not skip 4 sizes! Someone doing that will have little to learn from the comparison of flight characteristics. They will have their hands full trying to save themselves and not hurt someone else. I personally dont think they will follow basic safety recommendations or listen to your good advice, people that make decisions like that are usually the types that dont listen to the voice of reason or experience.
  8. That's true!! I dont think they'd print it if I was without the pants... Here is a new logo for the website: Liquid Sky pants - is there anything they can't do? Simple. Flaring is optional. I chose to exercise my options.
  9. I dunno man... there are two things i've dreamed of ever since i was a little girl. One was to be on the centerfold of Parachutist. The other one is to beat Buechler. The first one has proven to be much easier than the second one. At least i still have something to strive for. Tell Buddy i miss him.
  10. it's like a theorem and an axiom - first one needs to be proven, the other one doesn't. Why prove or test an axiom, when it's self evident? Basic physics, shorter lines, smaller wing... less distance for any given point on the canopy or the pilot to travel in any given maneuver. why particularly them and why danger of a 79 @1.9?
  11. i am not familiar with micron's, i am a mirage guy :) based on my experience a JVX92 with HMA fits comfortably in the same Mirage container (MX-1/2) in which i had VX94 with vectran and 96/97 with HMA. On their site, Mirage doesnt even have a VX bigger than an 84 listed for that container size. Their earlier system would've said that 97 sq ft VX was not recommended/wouldnt fit in an MX-1/2, but as i said - it did fit quite well. So if i was to make an educated guess, but dont quote me, i'd think that you will have to work a bit to fit the JVX86 into a container that will hold a VX84 tightly, but it would fit.
  12. ZP JVX? not much, if any. JVX92 fits in the same container that held VX96, same pack job volume, +/-
  13. YOU'll have it, but you wont share though, right? I am not that high on the hero list.
  14. yes, that's a Precision style slink wrapped around the loop. it has a brass ring to protect the slider rings from dings. I was too! :)
  15. Asked Sonic to get a demo 91. Jerm and i will test jump it and see how it feels from a point of view of a JVX pilot and a Samurai pilot.
  16. it's this pic: http://maxf.net/~vadim/albums/june21-2008/08_G.jpg
  17. Lets not talk about that. Lets just say we made them an offer they couldn't refuse.
  18. Uncle Pete, you forgot the main and the most important ingredient... a good photographer = 100 points!
  19. save your 1000th jump for this - we'll take pics and send them to Parachutist.
  20. i dont know... i seem to always get the shitty results in speed, which is proof that i am being discriminated against. Clearly, because i am black!
  21. Reminds me of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest :) Big Steve: I can't. I just can't. Pia: It's easier than you think, Steve. Big Steve: For you, maybe. You're a lot bigger than me
  22. I've never used them, but this system has been tested and is used in skydiving and in the tunnel. Remember it was advertised it in Parachutist and Skydiving a few years back? As Laurie said, the mini speaker goes into a noise reducing ear plug and that block as much as 25-28 Db of wind noise, so you can hear the speaker clearly. I have no doubt that this system would work very well for coaching - tunnel or skydiving. So many times i've seen people not understanding what the instructor wants from them... and even after you learn to kinda read lips, sometimes I still find myself wondering "What the hell did he just tell me to do?" :) The system is expensive to buy, due to the special microphone and some parts, but to rent it shouldn't be too bad. I think it would be a good investment and maximize the returns of a training session, especially when someone is already spending money by hiring a good coach.
  23. NH tunnel has a radio set up for coaching.
  24. Is it just me or does it look at 39-40 sec like the canopy is showing the same signs of "dropping" as the original guy who busted himself up? http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=168&string=barrel%20roll
