  1. I don't mind answering. Yes. I love it when bigots out themselves. And I love it when the most intellectually lazy academic in the world comes to an Internet forum thinking he has a captive audience of students who have to laugh at his jokes, praise his brilliance, and kiss his shriveled, anemic ass. You want to have a discussion, fine. We can talk all day. You want to play the coward and imply that those who disagree with you, specifically me, are bigots or racists, then I'm sorry but you'll be biting off more than you can chew. 2. So why not just say that instead of going off into left field and acting like you totally missed the point with "racism is alive and well"? And libertarian does not mean "institutional racism". It means a business is an extension of the owner's property, and the owner can dispose of it how he/she wishes. Look at Takei's blog post. It features a picture of a business stating that it reserves the right to refuse service to AZ legislators. Are you going to tell that business that it has to serve those idiots after what they've done? Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  3. Wendy gets it. But these business owners have no power. Government has power and, as this bill demonstrates, they aren't very good custodians of it. Look at the outpouring of resistance to this idiotic move by the legislature. These businesses want to stay open and serve ALL customers even when the government says they can turn gays away. 4. I don't mind answering. Yes. And now we see why racism is alive and well. Swing and a miss! Try to keep your knee from jerking next time. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  5. I don't mind answering. Yes. How about people carrying guns? Yes. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin

  7. You mean the press capturing the brutality of the police state that conservatives oppose? I thought you hated Fox News. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  8. Maybe they're hoping the typical Joe Swissmiss might have better luck communicating the high points of Obamacare better than Obama himself. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  9. The link I posted earlier was to the original twitter post. Here is the ad with the ensuing ridicule, which I think will exist for quite some time. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  10. Puts even my most uncharitable of liberal masculinity stereotypes to shame. Daintily cradling the hot chocolate with two hands while wearing a flannel onesie? That's just depraved. Clicky. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  11. Well put! ........ Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  12. The point I was driving at was if the instances of "gun violence" were entirely made up of citizens defending themselves from knife attacks, would the gun even be the focus? Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  13. Can you have a discussion without acting like a small, silly man? Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  14. Not necessarily. If a citizen is accosted by a thug with a knife and shoots him in self-defense, would you categorize that as knife violence or gun violence? Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  15. Bullshit though our media may be, you'll forgive me if I'm in no rush to have more money taken from me rather than voluntarily given. Especially if it's going to the same batch of reporters who prove their bias to one side or the other day in and day out. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  16. Not sure if you meant to reply to me, but I agree with Friedman's points. In fact, I figured I'd be posting that very video sooner or later in this thread. It's such a nice catchall refutation of any "greeeeeeeeeed" whining. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  17. Who is this "you" you're referring to who will pay the reporters? Where does "you" get the money to pay them? Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  18. And who would provide the news and health care with care and honesty as the principle motivation? Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  19. If true, I'd say an asterisk next to Obama's name in the history books is warranted. Can't hit those political home runs without using some PEDs. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  20. If only it were like that at UPS. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  21. D'awww I'm sure that'll make everyone feel better. Now he just needs to promote himself in true Obamascandal fashion and all will be right with the world. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  22. This line gets funnier every time I hear it applied to insurance companies' reactions to Obamacare mandates--if only because the user of said line thinks they're scoring a point. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin

  24. PSYOP Officer here. I seem to recall some friendly rivalry between our species...something having to do with CA getting all the money. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
  25. While I yield to no man in enthusiasm to point out the limpness (both physically and philosophically) of the collective liberal wrist, precious few people of any ideology have given themselves to the sort of commitment and camaraderie that S.E.A.L.s have. Might want to give them a break on this one. Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something meaningful. -Calvin
