  1. We moved away from the plastic with the skydiving grommet because like all products, there was room for improvement. The benefits are 1: They last longer with less wear 2: They wheigh less than half 3: They decrease pack volume 4: They reduce floating on the risers 5: They improve openings by wieghing less 6: They improve the overall quality and craftesmanship of the RDS If you have any questions or would like to order a RDS from Para-Concepts. I would be happy to assist you. Hope this helps with your question. [email protected]
  2. I also kind of wonder if by judging people by their appearance if Jim will keep the fat boys off his team? The decision process of the team is affected by your physical shape, if you cant finish PT than you are not physically fit enough for the team. It has nothing to do with actual size as long as you are in shape. All in all I find it interesting, especially since after a couple of years people jumping a Velo or the XB are still winning.[/reply Of course the XB is on top not all the time anymore though, but they outnumber the JVX's on the tour by 3 or 4 to 1 and also not to mention many of the JVX pilots have less than 500 jumps under the JVX while the majority of the other factory teams have had thousands of jumps under there wings. Just think of the numbers, not everyone in the pros has thousands of jumps.
  3. Press Release on http://www.canopypiloting.com/home.asp?ItemID=657&rcid=82&pcid=81&cid=82
  4. Rhys has ordered a para-gear rds and will not have any problems witht the crosseed cutaway cables, because that is not how this one was designed. Every rds has malfunctions, but there are 0 to date on the para concepts rds that have heard of. I hope you like it, see ya around Nick
  5. Chris, what is the expected outcome of the Pro event, and what days would you need to be there specifically for the pro event only? Thanks
  6. Hey Tobi, Not sure but I think maybe Brian was heading that up. I havent heard anything of it though since talk in Germany, Hope everything is going well, have you ordered your JVX yet after flying mine? See ya around, Nick
  7. the canopy can go that far, it is not false advertising, and anything mentioned from any other source I am not responsible for. I am sure anything that was said incorrectly was a typo by whoever may have written it, but for everybodies sake lets not argue about something that doesnt matter,
  8. hey Ian, things are going good here, I did make a run that was 665ft. According to the gate siren I missed the gate, from someones eye they said it was within one inch, All morning during the speed event the siren did not sound for three or more peoples runs, They said it was to be fixed for the distance but I am not a believer. I thought I was in and upset to find out differently accordinbg to just a gate siren. There was lack of a video camera even with the gate for further verificaiton, and as you see in the video all the camera shots are from well 300-400 feet into the course. Its still not the world record, and wouldnt be even if I made it past that huge feat of 678. No chief judges or anything Hope this helps, see you boys soon
  9. The hybrid will fit, and you will love it, I would definately go sail top skin all the rest zp. Your canopy will last longer because the top skin takes the largest amount of wear, and would now be a material that is proven to wear less. Plus if you cant afford the rig now like most of us, then the Hybrid is the way to go. Plus I think there is something about the hybrid design, but its just a theory, Long swoops Nick
  10. the JVX is not a super VX it is a new cell design nose shape trim settings and more differences than you might think.
  11. Yes the weight rules were in affect and I was wearing the allowed maximum for my weight which is 35 pounds.
  12. Hello, my new JVX Hybrid 79 packs like a 87 ZP I load the JVX Hybrid at 2.55 for distance and speed, and have gone unbelievable distances under the hybid at a 2.55 just recently at sea level
  13. Makes sence thanks for the explanation Kola, no harm in what I said, and of course Stew is an excelent candidate for sponsorship, I hope he will be happy with all his decisions he makes, cheers and blue skies Nick
  14. Why would you fly a non competition bread canopy when you just ordered a JVX sail, doesnt make much sence to me, That would be taking a step in the other direction.
  15. I know of Stuart making a choice to sign a binding contract with PD prior to him having any knowledge of the opportunity he had with the Team
  16. you might want to contact paxton vineyard, he jumps somewhere down in florida, but represents pd and has thousands of swooping jumps under the sabre 2, In fact the company wanted him to continue to fly that parachute even though his skills presede it because he can show people what the cnaopy is capable of doing, dont know if there is or has been any video of him,
  17. Cost of Location, and satying there for that particular weekend. The final standings do not count for the US Team next year.
  18. FL for the PST where someone (no names mentioned) didn't even turn up for his own qualifier Yes yes that is truelly a good one, and yes I did not show up, all in fun though I hope that you do make it, it will be quite the experience, Blue skies Nick
  19. Good luck everyone at the championships, It will be nice to see some of you next year on the tour, also you definately should not let Ian borrow your DV tapes of the event this year, I did last year and they were just returned yesterday, Just giving you some of the shit you missed out on at the Airshow. I will see you in Brazil, Speed and power, Nick
  20. All you can find is $1500 from Canada, ouch, If you drive here to st. Louis, you can get tickets on Northwest for $700, That is if your allowed in our country anymore, just joking, anyway good luck with the search, and also its a pro/am, you are more than welcome to compete, and there will be lots of amatuers from brazil competing
  21. hey guys just wondering who's going to Brazil, trying to figure out whos going when so we can coordinate some rental car sharing. see you guys there, nick
  22. i agree, and where is the video I saw some of you shooting out there. i know about the Canopy Cup promo, but are there any clips out there anyone can post on www.skydivingmovies.com
  23. Think someone struck a cord? Everyone here is retarted!!!!!! Especially shadow. Swooping...daaahhhh.... If you are buying the derogatory sarcasm then you are also being a bit retarted. It is not that I am not willing to try something new, because I've done a full brake to front riser approach. Never said that I didn't. I just prefer the other way, personally, as an experience pilot with a bit more time in a harness than you - tart. Just because you have done a lot of jumps does not mean that you have obtained a higher degree of understanding everything in the skydiving world. We are discussing things to learn from eachother, and then you pipe in with your fancy efforts to make a pun ot two, I guess the real problem with dropzone.com as appossed to canopypiloting.com is the constant bantering from someone who wants nothing more than to get under someone elses skin, well congratulations , you have successfully done so. Where did you place in the last PST Event?
  24. Nice one about Stu, hes not retarded though just a little slow, but we will change that with a 450
