  1. As others have said, there is no direct relationship between Skydive Deland and UPT with the exception that we test our equipment there and some of our employees jump there. The information you received there (SD Deland) was similar to the information that you could receive from any dropzone. Riggers (in Deland or anywhere) may have a different view on what is allowed/approved and what is not allowed/approved as far as modifications go, but your best bet is to always contact the manufacturer directly. We have exchanged emails, however, I would like to post UPT's official view on this issue here for everyone viewing this thread's information. The Magnetic Riser cover modification for a Vector 2 is not something that UPT offers. There have been a few riggers who have created modifications on their own and while we do not endorse these modifications, we do not prohibit them either. 2. We have been having problems with our Email server since Friday of last week. They have not been resolved yet. If you have sent an email to UPT since last Friday (March 11th) it may or may not have been received. If you do not receive a response before next week, you may want to resend the message. We will be updating our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UPTVector) with status on the process. If you have a question that you need answered quickly, you can ask it there, as we will be monitoring that closely. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies
  3. You would think they would have some type of a meaning, however, that is not the case. the 3 is because they are V3s. The last 2 numbers are just because that is what we decided to call it. A 309 makes some sense as it is pretty much a 308 Main Container, and a 310 Reserve Container, but if someone can explain to me why a 346 hold much bigger mains than a 344 or a 347...... It's just what we decided to call it when someone asked if we could make it. No secret formula here. Mark Klingelhoefer
  4. Some taller people prefer a taller rig. I had a wing suit guy last week that wanted as thin of a rig as he could get because of aerodynamics.....Most people go with the standard Micron sizes (304, 306, 308, 310). Mark Klingelhoefer
  5. Actually, the shape of the container is the difference between the Micron and the M-Series. The Micron is more of a rectangular shape. It is the same size (or close to the same size) shoulder to shoulder as it is Hip to Hip. The M-Series is more of a Trapezoid with the container narrower at the shoulders and wider at the hips. For example the V306 and V336 hold basically the same canopies: The V306 Micron is 10" wide at the shoulder and the Hips, 16" tall, and 5" Deep The V336 M-Series is 10" wide at the shoulders, 12" wide at the hips, 19 inches Tall, and 3.5" deep. 6. Sounds like the USPA...... I'm not a SkyRide fan, but I'm also not a fan of mandatory USPA Membership. OK Hijack over.
  7. $$$$$ I used to be able to afford 10-12 jumps per weekend, and got to be pretty good. I have not worked at a job that allows me to turn those kind of numbers of jumps for SEVERAL years, and when you know how good you USED to be, jumping now is a bit of a "let down". I still do about 10 jumps a year, but end up doing Hop and Pops, Tracking Jumps, or just videoing some local belly fliers. That's a pretty far cry from the bigway headdown stuff I was so passionate about years ago. But I do get to talk to skydivers 40 hours a week. Mark Klingelhoefer Pardon me for reading the first post and just replying to it. I had forgotten that within an hour of posting something, it turns into a DZ.com Miniseries that has very little to do with the OP.
  8. Not a problem. Thanks for spreading the word while honoring our request to not list the discounts. Mark Klingelhoefer UPT
  9. UPT's website is as follows http://unitedparachutetechnologies.com/ 386-736-7589 Not http://www.relativeworshops.com The following quote is my quote, and it is because our dealers know we give Military discounts, but they do not like people rubbing it in their noses.
  10. Sorry it took me so long to reply. Things have been a little busy. To the OP, how tall are you? The 308 is 16" tall (from BOC to Yoke) and the 328 is 17.75" tall. Most people go with the 308, but some people (generally taller people) prefer to have the taller container. If you would like to, you could email me at [email protected]. I try to keep up with posts here on DZ.com but when things get busy, following threads is generally one of the first things I neglect. Mark Klingelhoefer
  11. Matt, We (UPT) are still supporting Vector Tandem containers. Mark Klingelhoefer
  12. Vector3 - 12 weeks......Just thought I'd throw that in there.
  13. The same could be said for and AAD, but I still suggest people jump an AAD. Any skydiver that had a main cutaway and died with an uninflated (or underinflated) reserve could have been saved with a SkyHook, and I have heard of this plenty of times. Mark Klingelhoefer
  14. I personally think that at one time Shirley was a racist, but learned a lesson. Fixed it..... I also think that all of the members of the NAACP that were in the room applauding the racism before she got to the "and then I learned a lesson" part of the speech are defiantly racists. Mark Klingelhoefer
  15. I got you now.....Wow, that's hillarious. Yeah NAACP.
  16. You could hear the claps and sounds of agreement coming from the people in the audience off camera as she said she didn't help out quite as much as she could have because she was in control, and he was a white man.
  17. I personally think that at one time Shirley was a racist, but learned a lesson. I also think that all of the members of the NCAA that were in the room applauding the racism before she got to the "and then I learned a lesson" part of the speech are defiantly racists. Mark Klingelhoefer
  18. UPT recommends Spectra on Spectra (Packboy) to get the most life out of your Sigma closing loops. Our new pullup cords create less friction that the Type 3 pull up cords, however Spectra provides the least amount of friction. You will get the most pack jobs out of your closing loops using Spectra on Spectra, however, it you prefer to use another method, you can do that. Mark Klingelhoefer
  19. Looks like I'm going to be going up to the Farm for SkyFest this year. I'll be bringing the UPT tent and a couple demo rigs. Look me up and we'll make a jump. Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies.
  20. But lucky you gets to help pay for everyone elses now too Yes, I work and pay taxes, I will be paying and have some guarantee that I will also get HC. See how it works; we all pay - we all get. Unlike the other way; we all pay and some get. But some of us work for a small business (albeit a FANTASTIC small business) that can not afford to offer "good" health care plans. When I worked for SunTrust, I LOVED my healthcare options. Not so much when you work for a small business. I'm just glad the can afford to offer some type of healthcare, otherwise I could not work where I do because I could not have a lapse in coverage because of my preexisting condition.
  21. Or I could rally people to vote the bastards out of office and start making noise for a repeal of the law......
  22. I don't know how "one sided" C-Span was but that is what I was listening to all day, and I defiantly heard them say that the executive order the Barrack committed to as the debate was going on was not worth the paper it was written on. It has no binding in the court of law, and the law as it was passed allows for public funding for abortions. If not, why did pro life representatives want stronger anti-abortion language? I don't want my tax dollars going to fund abortions.
  23. Oh yeah.. the one that is not even supported in the health care bill that the MORON from Texas stood up to call everyone BABY KILLERS... I guess as long as Lush Rimjob and FAUX News says it will cover it.. then OMG it must be true It the debate I was watching, the Dems did not argue with the fact that in a court of law, the executive order would not be upheld, and the law, as written in the bill would stand, which could allow for public funding of abortions.
  24. I have healthcare and support some aspects of the bill and am morally opposed to one other aspect.
  25. To everyone that says this, I have to ask, when you are eligible, will you take social security and Medicare? Both are Socialist programs, however I have yet to find someone who plans on sending the check back, or keeping their own full private health care when they are eligible.
