  1. This is very sad news. She was always an encouraging site at Whenuapai when I was a new Pops. She was a unique lady. Blue skies, Audrey.
  2. My husband's and my heart goes out to Blue, our friend, and their children.
  3. I remember her posts and looked forward to them. She had so much zest for life. I know I prayed for her when she broke her legs. I'd really hoped to meet her some day. She was a wonderful person and the world will be poorer without her. BSBD my friend.
  4. One of my very memorable experiences involved a jump with Eli. It was an honor to have been able to jump with him. My condolences and prayers not only for his family, but also for those who were close to him. He was a very special person and will be dearly missed.
  5. I figured in my case it was either a Rain Man or Mr. Monk thing. Someone handed me one in high school on the bus. I fixed it and handed it back.
  6. I had to solve mine with my eyes open
  7. The Stratosphere rides are a blast. The view of Vegas from there is awesome, too. Flyaway wind tunnel if you haven't been in a tunnel yet or don't have one close at home.
  8. Yes. I'd need a lucky shot to kill someone with my gun. It's pretty small. I'm waiting for my mom to leave me her 357
  9. I worked in OR in a large transplant center. I'll keep my organs, thanks. Otherwise, my family can do whatever they want with me.
  10. Saipan Chicken Salad This is my recipe for a popular Saipan fast food. Measurements approximate and to taste. 2 C. shredded, cooked chicken Juice of 1/2 a lemon Pinch lemon zest 2 T. dessicated coconut 1/4+ tsp. red pepper flakes 1-2 T. mayo to just moisten (optional) 1/4 C chopped green scallions (optional) Serve rolled in any flat bread or in a pita.
  11. On my last blind date, I was just about to say, "This doesn't seem to be working out, but it was nice meeting you." I decided to give him a couple more minutes since we were both nervous and uncomfortable. Ten days later we eloped to Vegas. Still happily married 12+ years later.
  12. Regs aside, it has been stated this guy owns the dz and has been flying jumpers without a commercial for years. The local FAA guys know what goes on in their back yard. They know this is happening. They are choosing not to enforce the regs. People don't like it when their free lunch goes away. They only have to lift the phone and kiss your happy life good-bye. Think long and hard about this. If this were a new development, by all means call. It's not, so you better be prepared to face consequences- life changing consequences- when you go poke at this snake. I've seen it happen.
  13. Judy, I'm an RN, too. I'm also a pilot and have been in business in aviation. I've had to deal with the FAA and others. I'd frankly be surprised if they didn't know what was going on and are turning a blind eye. Sometimes there's what we think is the right thing to do, and what's the right thing to do when living in the real world. We're both familiar with accountability being nurses. Every jumper that jumps with that pilot is accountable as a jumper to know if the pilot is properly licensed. They are making the choice to continue to jump and they're choosing to face what consequences might arise. Never underestimate the power of the Old Boy network.
