  4. Stormy Weather Headed Into Minnesota Jan 25, 2004 12:46 pm US/Central Chanhassen (AP) Minnesotans are bracing for a winter storm that is moving into the state and is expected to bring heavy snow to some areas through tomorrow. From six to 12 inches of snow is expected over much of western and northern Minnesota today, with more snow possible in some areas. Light to moderate snow developed over much of western Minnesota overnight with several inches already on the ground in some areas. The snow will spread slowly east overnight, into southeastern Minnesota. Accumulations will be a little less in the east, but significant accumulations are still possible. Snow will linger across the east tomorrow, and will begin to taper off in the west tomorrow morning. A winter storm warning is in effect for northwestern and southwestern Minnesota, a heavy snow warning for the northeast begins tonight and a winter storm watch begins tonight for east-central and southeastern Minnesota. Monday's commute should be fun. Kevin W.
  5. I may over do it, but I check my hackey several times on the way up to altitude, after I put on my helmet and gloves (I always wear gloves), and as I'm moving toward the door. Just to make sure it's where it should be.
  6. 0:3:0 It was 36 degrees on the ground, 42 degrees at 10,000 ft. I made 3 fun RW out of a C-206 on Sunday. It was a great winter day to jump. I thought you now need 500 jumps to get your D license. Kevin W.
  7. 0:0:0 We received 4-7 inches of snow in the Twin Cities. Some places received over 10. Winter is here. Time to pull out the sled (snowmobile). Kevin W.
  8. Bloomington, MN: Mall of America. Kevin W.
  9. I would think a 15 year old would be smarter than an 8 year old. But, I could be wrong. Kevin W.
  10. Go Team Flew-id. Merriah and Karl Bob rock.
  11. I love reading about your jumps. It's like I'm right there with you. You probably already know that on Level 4 you only have one JM. From what I've read, that won't be a problem. One way to relax is to smile. One AFF-I I know recommends that her students smiles. It really does help. Good luck on Level 4, have fun, and keep on posting. Kevin W.

  13. Number of lakes: 11,842 (10+ acres) Minnesota has 90,000 miles of shoreline, more than California, Florida and Hawaii combined. Other Minnesota facts can be found here: http://www.50states.com/facts/minn.htm Kevin
  14. In the last three years, the temp has been in 40's for the first two weeks in December. We may not be that lucky this year. It has already snowed up in Ely (small town near the Canadian border). Kevin
  15. [Wait until you figure out how to jump in the snow! We jump here all winter long. If the wind is from the south, it is actually warmer up top than it is on the ground. Therefore, the freefall is fine, the canopy ride sucks. Plus, swooping in snow is lots of fun. If the snow is too deep, your feet will sink in and you end up getting a face full of snow. Kevin
  16. I'd love to go to the Eloy Boogie, but I have cash flow issues. Also, as soon as there is enough snow on the ground, I'll be on my sled (snowmobile). Kevin
  17. Hi everybody, I can't seem to stop coming to the site on a daily basis. I've been lurking in the shadows for a while. The threads here have made me laugh, cry, and think. I've been jumping for a while, but still consider myself as an O.K. skydiver with so much more to learn. Since most of my dives are RW, I haven't put in the time and effort to figure out how to fly HD. That is a future goal. The weather here is getting colder so I probably won't jump unless the wind is from the south. Run for your life, it's a blue-eyed-monster. Go Twins, Go Vikings, Go Wild, Kevin
