  2. That's not always a good fix though. Too large a slider will cause hard openings as well. Besides, slider=expensive, slider pocket=cheap. well it cost me 150AU Dollars for a brand new slider for my sabre 150, and the difference was incredible.... for the results 150bucks was not what I consider exspensive. Also could you explain how a larger slider could result in harder openings??? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  3. Also sports like, snowboarding, skateboarding, soccer, bmx etc etc are very a accessible to the public, and more so to kids. As a kid you could ask your folks for new board, or bmx for xmas, however you wouldn't likely ask for a new canopy or rig. So for the most part skydiving is out of the reach of most kids, and therefore they have little interest in it. Also as previously stated it isn’t a spectator sport, whilst turning 15 points in an 8 way takes a lot of skill, unless Rel work is you thing it’s not the interesting to watch over and over again. You see someone back flip a motocross back, and you’re like holy shit that’s insane, you see someone transition for a sit to headdown, and there’s no comparison for the wow factor….. I also think fans like to see people fuck up; we all love to watch the slam section of a skate vid, however in our sport that would be horrific, I don’t think anyone really wants to see someone “bounce” ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

  8. Religion teaches you how to be in the world, while a cult tries to take you out of the world. A religion gives its members guidance and support in how to survive and get along out in the world. However cults always try to isolate their members from the world. Cults want their members to live together, usually in isolation, and break off all contact with friends or family who aren't also members of the cult. A religion in change is defined as a "personal or institutionalized system grounded in the belief, worship and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe". It also has a "set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader". Religions are usually "ancient or very old in years" and have "millions of followers". Therefore, a religion is not necessarily a cult, but a cult is nearly always a religion ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  9. I agree, I would any day rather spend my time (actually I often do) with people who smoke da weed, then people drinking da booze. I have several friends who smoke weed regularly, and have done for years. If you were around them chances are unless you actually saw a “doobie” in there hands you wouldn’t even know that the might be “stoned” The stereotype image of the pot smoking, pizza calling jobless loser is bullshit. Weed will always be illegal, because it keeps people in jobs. It would be interesting (if any one has any figures) to see how much say in the US is spent on the war on weed, as compared to the annual cost of Alcohol, i.e add up all the costs of the treatment of alcohol related incidences, drink driving incidence, the treatment of alcoholics. Also how many people a year die from weed, as apposed to Alcohol? And I guess how many people are killed by someone “high” on alcohol??? Well According to the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependency, 105,000 Americans die annually from alcohol-related causes which could include everything from falls to drunk driving accidents to cirrhosis of the liver. For comparison sake, there are 365,000 tobacco-related deaths in the U.S. each year Does anyone have any figures for weed? And for all the people that think Marijuana is a "gateway" drug -- it leads to hard drugs The Dutch functionally decriminalized marijuana in the 1970s. Since then, hard drug use -- heroin and cocaine -- have DECLINED substantially. Even use of marijuana has declined. If marijuana really was a gateway drug, one would have expected use of hard drugs to have gone up. Actual studies of hard drug "addicts" reveal that they start with alcohol or tobacco more frequently than marijuana. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

Because they would begin to finally show that there might be some truth in the bible I think we all know that the discovery channel has not always shown programs that are based on facts. Im sure we have all seen documentarys on this channel that show, homepathic remedys to be real medicine, or other such psuedo science..... I have no reason not to, we can prove the excistance of Shakespeare for a start, and beside no one is trying to tell me that Hamlet, or Romeo actually existed... ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

Yes, absolutley, without hesitation..... The story of Noah and the ability to build such an ark has well and truley been debunked by science, however if they found it, then yes i would believe .. The bible is a "book" there is no way short or building a time machine to prove anything in it.. we may as well debate whether Harry Potter is a real magician. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

Well...I say primarily the many books of the Christian Bible outlining eye-witness testimony of the miracles that took place and prophesy foretold. You'll then say that's not historically or textually accurate. We've been through all of this in great detail before. I'd recommend searching for threads such as "Religious Based Intolerance", "The Bible", and "Arguments for (or against) the existence of God." I believe that the preponderance of the evidence leads to accuracy more so than inaccuracy and reason to believe rather than disbelieve. That's just me. I agree I’m not interested in getting in some argument over historical or textual accuracy. All I want is proof, undeniable proof, and there is none… end of story….. If the Christian Gospel were really God's message to mankind, and if God really wanted us to accept it and believe it, then one must ask why God is not doing a better job of making it believable? If God is making it so difficult in order to test our faith - our willingness to believe it without evidence (cf. John 20:29) - then why give us any evidence at all… Why is there not a shred of archaeological evidence, why can we manage to find evidence from every period in time, yet none that show a man name Jesus existed. Ultimately, the Christian evidence is only circumstantial and hearsay. Such evidence can be disregarded in a court if there is any other natural, reasonable, possible explanation than the one which the party offering the circumstantial evidence proposes. And there is. With our knowledge of how religious movements begin and develop, how the human mind works, how urban legends begin and spread, how circumstances were in Jesus' time and place, one has no real difficulty in understanding how this Jewish teacher's life and death became the basis for a mystery religion quite unlike anything he foresaw ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

I guess it all depends on what you qualify as evidence. If you reject what is there, I guess I can see why you'd call it all "blind faith." For me evidence is... Something that is real, something I can see with my own eyes. Something that has been proven to be authentic beyond all doubt (that rules out the Turin shroud, so called miracles and all weaping statues) ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

Absolutely not, however belief or non-belief in a particular God / Religion is hardly detrimental. Well unless my child decided to embrace some weird religion that meant he was going to start sacrificing virgins in the basement, then yes I would intervene, or he decides to become a suicide bomber...... Like you I will give me child all the information he asks for, I will present it in a non biased way, I will explain why I might feel a particular way about something, but I will make it quite clear that he has his own free will to decide what he feels is correct. If I believe something is detrimental, then I would step in, as I’m sure any parent would, if something is going to cause damage, harm or injury to my child then I will try to prevent it. I really don’t think that religion fits into this “detrimental” category, in this case... Perhaps explain why you feel that it would be detrimental….. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

Or, it’s quite possible that he could continue to go the way I did. Yes, as a father, I’d try and steer him back. I'd love him regardless. I agree he could go either way, but if he goes the wrong way why are you going to steer him back, you have already said he can make his own informed decision. But is that only of that decision suits you? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

No, I was the skeptic. I didn't believe his sincerity at first. I thought he was too young. I was wrong. I’m sure at his age (9 or 10) I was a firm believer in God, although I think by that age I had decided that Santa wasn't real. But then I don’t think I had made an informed decision, I hadn’t looked at both sides of the argument. My parents went to church therefore I went to church, therefore I believed, I was 10 years old, there were far more important things in my life then, like Lego and cartoons. I think it was when I was in my early twenties that I decided it was time to take a deeper look into religion, as I wanted more then blind faith was giving me. Now I am a very happy atheist, I have made up my own mind that as of today, there simply isn’t anything more then faith. If someone digs up the Holy Grail tomorrow, or finds a buried angel then I will be quite happy to change my beliefs. So my question to you is I guess, as your son is still young and I would hazard a guess that he really hasn’t looked into the whole religion topic in great depth, hasn’t fully examined both sides of the argument, then it is quite possible that he could go the same way that I did. If this is the case, will you try to steer him back? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

I hope they'll be smart enough to research it, take everything into context, and make informed decisions. Ultimately, however, the desire to become a Christian isn't based on how much you know from the Bible. It comes from God. By the way, my eldest son recently made the decision to become a Christian and be baptized. I'm very proud of him. That decision came not only without any pushing on my part but with a great deal of skepticism. I guess because it took me until I was 28. After much questioning, however, I believe him and I've come to realize that he has much more insight than I gave him credit for. By the way, he's 9 1/2. with your son being a skeptic, what do you think was the turning point for him, or what was it that made him say "yes i want to be a christian"? ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+

I’m curious; when you explain to your children what you are celebrating, do you do so from neutral perspective allowing your children to make up there own minds as to whether there is any authenticity in your particular religion. Or do you just force it upon them giving them no choice but to accept it??? Just as important you maybe, but maybe not your children ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
  25. I don't believe that psycho packing slows down openings. Over the course of almost 200 jumps on my old Spectre 170 I psycho packed it maybe 150 times and pro packed the rest. I noticed no significant difference in opening characteristics with either method. I would agree, having also psycho packed my old spectre 170 about 150 times, I cant say i noticed much difference in openings from when it was pro packed. ----------------------------------------------------------- --+ There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.. --+
