  3. so how many? they just started here...5 sofar
  4. Yeah I agree... I wish they still made 'em like they did in the 60s and 70s. I like new technology... the dual plug with 8 coils and wires is messy to look at and to work on....would prob scare most people away .... best cover it up
  5. Thats another pet peeve of mine...lets cover the entire fucking engine with a hugh piece of plastic!!!! for no other reason but ....what the hell is the reason?
  6. Boys... lets not forget about a true cold air system using a intercooler...
  7. or at least takes air from airbox ducting from outside the HOT engine bay....most kits I have seen installed take the stock(ducted to outside air) air box and toss it aside to have the filter sit in a HOT engine compartment sucking in HOT air. Ridestrong I am not familiar with the application you are dealing with...does that mod use the existing airbox or does it have its own sealed to outside air system? on that note...RAM air http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram-air_intake
  8. Its usually reffered to as a warm air intake by people who work on cars for a living ;)
  9. nice car what kind of gain do you expect out of the intake mod?
  10. whats your beef there slick? I do not like RedBull. I am a fan of Mark Webber who drives for RedBull. I love pastrami. Meeting Travis Pastrana would be cool. Fuck

  13. We will use WDI's if the 1st load of the day is a student load and the winds are moderate or higher or a odd wind shift before a student load. I have tossed maybe 10 this year.
  14. Hey pops....what is it with the bullshit numbers for you? Why can't you post real numbers? Someone as vocal as you should post their real numbers or something close. or maybe we should all post bullshit...
  15. It is a dead art.... But I hope you are joking. It is far from a dead art....come back to a C-182 DZ that does IAD's or SL.
  16. Hi skyflower, I will not attempt to teach you how to spot over the internet, you need to talk to a local instructor who is familiar with spotting. Using information avaible to you in the SIM's is also a great place to start http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section5/tabid/168/Default.aspx#975 Some methods to research could be WDI's (wind drift indicators) Meteorological reports (wind velocities at different altitudes), aircraft drift (rate one turns or pattern flying), Cloud drift. or everyones favorite....watch the 1st load and tweak it from there
  17. Thats one of the stupidest things I have read on dizzy in a while. We teach spotting with all students who continue training past a few jumps, to get a solo licence in Canada the student must have 3 unassisted spots landing within 50 metres of the target. Spotting is not just looking out the aircraft at the ground and getting out over the correct location it is also determining where the spot is.
  18. That is a technically correct statement. But, there ARE some gear configurations that have proven more likely for skydivers to misuse. Therefore, it's not wise to use those configurations in a mass market. Just like anti-wind blast handles were okay as long as you pulled the handle out in-line with the cable housing. The problem was, many people didn't. Skydivers need gear that is as idiot-proof as possible, to be as safe as possible. Yes. Funny how collapsable pilot chutes are still mainstream though
  19. I would wager that belly band mounted throw out pilot chutes never caused any deaths. Failure to don gear correctly and improper gear checks would have caused deaths related to pilot chute in tow malfunctions from twisted belly bands. Please correct me if I am wrong.
  20. I put a new roof on my DZ trailer this year, black asphalt roll roofing......when I find time I plan to paint runway markings on it.
  21. On the jumps.... your "student" may go into a brief stand on a back loop.....be ready to get small to keep up
  22. I was under the assumption that fly by wire was becoming common place due to fuel economy reasons... Cheaper to manufacture doesn't really make sence with retooling the lines etc...but it would be quite intresting to know what the total costs in comparason would be... You should price out costs to the vehicle owner to replace such parts if required......I replaced a throttle body assembly on a domestic car the other month to the tune of $600 for the part alone....never seen a throttle cable cost that much......
