  1. Would that be like day-dreaming. I couldn't sleep the day before I got my rig! I got my container in and had to wait for a week or two before my reserve came in. That sucked, but I made a trip every other day to my Rigger's place so that I could keep it company. :) FallRate
  2. I have been looking at the Wings and the rig is quite impressive. By the way...Packman? The Richmond "Packman"? FallRate
  3. He was flying from San Diego...it won't let me edit. FallRate
  4. A good friend of mine was flying from had just landed in Phoenix and the Jet was taxiing for a very long time when a Stewardess came over the PA and said, "This is why Southwest can afford to give such great rates. We fly you half way, and drive you the rest." Quite funny. FallRate
  5. Rob, I have heard that the Voodoo is an incredibly comfotable rig, but there is no way I am going to go with something that small. Seeing as the Genera looks so much like the Voodoo, it would make sense that the Genera is also very comfortable. This wouldn't be my first rig, just looking into a possible container change. The downside to the Genera would seem to be that with so few sizing options I might have a tough time fitting a 229 maina and 282 reserve into it properly. FallRate
  6. Is this system for sale anywhere. I haven't been able to find a dealer online that carries them and the RI site isn't letting me on. The rig is advertised as an affordable model for those just off student status. But the design looks very much like the Voodoo. Anyone know anything about these? It looks like a nice rig. FallRate
  7. I'm not sure if it's sad...but I'm actually looking forward to it. FallRate
  8. Strangely and luckily her name doesn't come up on the ad pages. So no use telling you her name. FallRate
  9. I figured sharing this with you guys would somehow make it less devastating...so far it seems to be working. What really pisses me off though is the fact that I had a bunch of video of her and myself "in the act" (she seemed to enjoy it...come to think of it, she seemed to enjoy being videotaped way too much...DOH!!!). But after we broke up I decided to be a gentleman and erase all of the video. SHIT!!! DAMN...DAMN...DAMN...DAMN...DAMN IT TO HELL!!! FallRate
  10. Yes. I was hoping that everyone would be polite enough to simply look at the one picture and ignore any further urge to see more. Hoping anyway. FallRate
  11. Here's a compromise. FallRate
  12. I'm still debating as to whether or not I should release that information. I know it's been six years, but the idea of guys watching her have sex is a bit too much. Also, she looks hideous! She was so cute and attractive...now she looks terrible. FallRate
  13. Oh yeah...twice. I might as well get some good out of the experience. FallRate
  14. So there I was, surfin' the Net. Came across a boobie site (hey, I'm human) and noticed something odd..."Hey! That looks a lot like...OH MY FUGGIN' GOD!!! It's my ex-fiance!!! And what in the hell is she doin' with that guy...AAHHHHH!!! NO FUGGIN' WAY!!! Stop it! STOP IT!!! I wish this was a joke, but it isn't. I haven't seen her in six years and I spent most of last night trying to convince myself that it's not her...but it is her. SHIT!!! DAMN!!! HELL!!! I was recently talking to a friend about looking her up to see if she is doing well. I can't imagine that performing Net-Porn means she's on top of the world. AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! There are millions of boobie sites, and I don't spend a large amount of my time surfing them. What are the freakin' odds!? This just isn't right. God does not like me!!! I must have been a very bad person in a previous life. This sucks! I'm going to go get really drunk now. A Very, Very Stunned FallRate
  15. Just curious as to whether or not my Raven Dash-M is spanwise reinforced, or crosswise, or whatever. I like the idea of having a reserve that is as strong as possible. I'm right at the limits, by the way. FallRate
  16. I think the "joke" is "Struggle, Struggle, Thump" in reference to trying to pull the reserve ripcord. FallRate
  17. I was hoping this was going to be sooner rather than later...that way I wouldn't have to pay this month's bills! FallRate
  18. If you are worried that your canopy won't be any fun if you lose weight, you can always strap on some lead. Or...you could cut one of the A-Lines. That should make the canopy ride quite exciting. FallRate
  19. It's apparently not uncommon for some BASE jumpers to want a reserve, they have developed at least one BASE rig that incoporates a reserve. I saw a video of it being tested a couple of years ago at SDC during the Winter Expo. It was an intentional cutaway on a normal BASE jump. Quite a fast deployment!!! FallRate
  20. I don't really wanter to be a BASE'er...I just figured at 2000' it's more like a regular hop'n'pop. (I know that it isn't exactly like a regular h'n'p.) Other than the fact that I'd have to climb for a few hours, it would be a bit like a free jump. Friends of mine jumped at the last Bridge Day in WV. Both of them used piggybacks. They reconfigured them for the jump. Actually, based on the video I saw quite a few people were using their normal containers. I will definitely have to check with some regular BASE jumpers before considering it further. I was also curious to see if anyone here had jumped the tower before. Seeing as it is the tallest structure in NA, and considering that BASE'ers seem to like to travel to new spots, it would seem to make for a popular destination. FallRate
  21. Never thought I would even consider a BASE jump...but I happen to live about 15 miles from THE tallest man-made structure in North America, the KVLY Tower. It is a tad bit over 2000' tall. Seems like that would be piggyback friendly. I don't like the idea of not having a reserve! Anyway, good idea or bad? FallRate
  22. I'm not sure if this is a good one or not: "Whatever it is, if you don't use it at least every two weeks, lease it when you do." FallRate
  23. 29.4 for me too. Do you suppose you can score above 50.0 if you happen to have genitalia? FallRate
  24. I have no problem with the idea of titles being based on post numbers. I just started thinking that newcomers to the sport, who post valid questions on this site, might be better served if they were made aware that certain individuals' opinions are more valid than others. (I would hope that most people believe this to be true.) This doesn't apply only to Bill Booth, but to other individuals such as RiggerRob. In Rob's case it seems to have been a good idea to make him a moderator in the Gear and Rigging Forum. Not a big deal...just a thought. FallRate
  25. The USPA is currently pursuing this topic with the FAA. It will most likely be changed. It seems to me that many of the arguments for a 120 day repack cycle as opposed to a 180 day cycle could be used to argue that the cycle should be less than 120 days. To go straight for the extreme, it could be argued that a reserve inspection and repack should be performed before every jump. Someone might have spilled kool-aid on your rig while you were in the bathroom. A pissed-off Ex might have super-glued your pop-top to the container..etc... I have always assumed that the cycle was based on normal conditions and normal use. But I'm not a rigger, so my opinion on this wouldn't count for crap. So I'll refrain from offering one. FallRate
