Thankfully at the moment, there are only 6 kids in the program (more coming, the facility just opened up), and out of those 6, I only have 3 toddlers, so I get to test things out to see what they like and don't like for when I get more kids. alyson team swooo swooo #2

So I've recently started working at a pediatric medical day care facility as a recreation therapist. Part of my job is to provide activities for about an hour or two each day. We start with circle time (singing songs, using musical instruments, bean bags, etc...) then move onto other things such as arts and crafts or other physical or mental activities. I'm wondering if anyone is currently or has been a preschool teacher, or if any parents out there have favorite crafts, activities, or songs for kids ages 2 to 5. Also does anyone know of any websites or good books/magazines to check out? Any help that anyone could give me would be great. Nope not at all from the people that I've met that have been home schooled. There is one family in my town that home schooled all 10 of their kids. However, all of the kids play the sports in the recreation programs offered in town and on other various club teams. From that, they make their friends and are exposed to others' value systems there. They are some of the nicest people I know, and so well adjusted too. They all go off to college and have had no troubles there at all. It's just definately something to think about. alyson team swooo swooo #2

That jump that I did when it was 20º out was the first time (and yes I bought beer) I jumped my own pack job...that was jump number 15 for me...needless to say, I pulled pretty high...at least 5000 and I didn't even think to spiral down I was quite cold after that jump...good thing I know better now

I was an hourly employee, non-exempt for the technical term I believe. Technically, they owe me for overtime during that time too, but it's more important to me to get those 80 hours first. So I quit my old job and my last day was back on December 17th. I worked in HR, and did payroll. On December 15th, I put in payroll from the days of Dec 1 - 12. (Please keep in mind that my last day was on the 17th). So I get my paycheck that I am owed on Dec. 26, but they only paid me for 24 hours. (Hours worked Dec. 15-17) So my old company owes me for 80 hours. They are trying to pull the "we pay current" thing on me, but it doesn't hold true for the lab I worked at. (btw...pay current means when someone new starts, they are paid the hours that they actually worked plus 80 hours in their first paycheck, hense, they are paid current) We were taken over back in April, and this "pay current" rule applies to the anyone hired after we were taken over. When I first started, after I worked 2 weeks, I got paid for 80 hours (it just happened to fall into the pay period). I was never paid current, and the new company never paid us current once they took us over, we were still on the same pay schedule, and nothing changed with the amount or anything that we were payed from the paycheck before they took us over to any paychecks following. But now, they are refusing to pay me for those 80 hours. Is that legal? Can they legally not pay me for hours that I physically put in at work? Sorry, I'm so frustrated right now, I had a feeling that this was going to happen Sorry if this isn't clear, I'm just not happy at the moment. alyson team swooo swooo #2
