  1. Thanks I'll do that...I do fly from Paris back home, so I'll just have to check and see I guess. Edit to add: They were all flights from Paris to LA...I'll be flying back to Philadelphia...hmm...still makes me feel great alyson team swooo swooo #2
  2. Does anyone know of which flights were cancelled or where I can find this out? (I checked the air france website and didn't see anything). I have a trip to Nice leaving on Dec 26th and returning Jan 2nd...it's on Delta/Air France...hmmm...this isn't good...makes me feel great about my up coming trip alyson team swooo swooo #2
  3. The valedictorian of my class was arrested for trying to sneak on an airplane for Thanksgiving 2001 'cause he lost his plane ticket. Eventually, he got himself kicked out of Harvard and lives at home and isn't doing much at the moment... As for me, I was just average...Played soccer and track and was in all the honors classes. I only talk to a few people from high school now...however, it is quite funny to run into random people from high school now...unfortunately some people never change I guess... alyson team swooo swooo #2
  4. Live at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, November 1999. It probably has to do with the fact that I was only one person back from the stage (standing room only), and Live is my favorite band...It was an amazing show. alyson team swooo swooo #2
  5. Beer most of the time, Sam Adams (any variety of it) at the moment, but that varies based on my mood...I also like a good hard cider now and then. Oh yeah, shots are good too. alyson team swooo swooo #2
  6. well, you weren't working there at the time, so I guess I can't blame you...wait sure I can...it's all your fault!!! As I said before, I know I should have checked the label myself. I should have my canopy back by Friday at the latest, so I'll be down Saturday before the party to get it hooked up. Are you working during the day Saturday? alyson team swooo swooo #2
  7. Yeah, I have a Safire 1, I did know about the sizing thing from before I bought it. But thanks for your help! alyson team swooo swooo #2

  9. I've been skiing since I was 1, so that's 22 years of skiing for me now...I tried to snowboard a few times, but I just couldn't get the whole both feet attached to one board balance thing going...so now I skiboard (two short skis)...I don't think that it's harder to learn skiing or snowboarding, it just depends on what you're taught and what's comfortable to the person doing it. edited to add: by the way...skymama, definately try skiing or snowboarding...it's so much fun and definately worth it!! alyson team swooo swooo #2
  10. Let me just start off saying that I know that I should have known this from before I bought my gear, and for having just about 100 jumps on my canopy, I am about to sound like a dumbass. I just have a question is all. A quick background: I recently sent my Safire to Icarus to be relined. On the phone with them, I told them I had a Safire 169, which is what I thought I had. So about 2 weeks ago, I sent my canopy in for its reline. I was told the turnaround time is 2 to 3 days, so I called today to see what was up. And that's when I was told that they had made a line set for a 169, but my canopy is a 163 (per the label on my canopy...which is why I should have known) so they needed to make a new line set and I will have my canopy back in a day or two. Ok, now that I look like a dumbass for not knowing my gear, my question. Does anyone know why Icarus would make Safire 169's and 163's? It doesn't make too much sense to me, but I'm sure there is a reason. My guess is that there's not many 163's (I could very well be wrong) because the canopy was advertised as a 169 and the gear shop said nothing that would make me think otherwise (again...not blaming them). So I'm just curious as to how many other people have Safire 163's. Thanks! alyson team swooo swooo #2

  20. Last year, I started my AFF in June and didn't complete it until the end of October due to not having any money. So, as of October 20th last year, I had 10 jumps. Then, the winds started to suck, and by February, I only had 15 jumps...not for lack of trying or not coming to the DZ though, I was there just about every weekend. While waiting to jump, I took my packing class, and eventually jumped my own pack job in January. I went to Z-hills in February and was able to get my A-license there. I don't know if that works for everyone, but there were instructors at X-keys I had jumped with down at Z-hills, so I was able to finish up with them. By the way, I had none of my Monkey Claw or Skydive U jumps in when I went down to Z-hills, I did all of my coached jumps down there. Z-hills is awesome, I can't wait to go back this February. I would just suggest calling Z-hills and seeing what they say about you finishing up you A-license down there. But come on...it's not that cold yet...i jumped when it was 18 degrees on the ground just to stay current for my trip to Z-hills...though I'll never do that again Good luck finishing up your A! alyson team swooo swooo #2
  21. Yea!!! My interview went really well. No problems being shy at all
  22. Thanks for all of your words of wisdom! I appreciate it
  23. I need some help. I am going back for a second interview for a job that I really really want tomorrow morning. It's not so much of an interview as an observation to see how i interact with the kids (it's in a pediatric rehab setting). The problem is, I am shy, which I hate. After a few minutes, I'll be fine, but getting this job hinges on tomorrow, and I want to make a really good impression from the minute I get there. If anyone has any tips on how not to be shy, I'd really appreciate it. I'm really just sick of it and am totally ready to not be shy anymore in any aspect of my life, I just can't figure out how to go about doing this. I've become less shy since I started skydiving, but it's time to not be shy anymore... Thanks! alyson team swooo swooo #2
  24. ...I'm sick. It just makes the time until I can go home go by so much slower team swooo swooo #2
