  1. Exactly what I thought at first, so I did the calculation on somebody at our DZ who jumps a Velocity 90 loaded at up to 2.4 depending on how much lead he is using, he scored 32. So the survey has got the flexibility to make people safe on highly loaded cross braced canopies. I on the other hand got a 23 if I based the figures on my Sabre2 from 1 month ago, on Saturday I am picking up my Katana, and will go to a 46. Whilst I think this is bollocks, it does bring home to me that I have got to be careful for the next 50 or so jumps while I learn the new canopy. OK I already knew that but I still think this could be of value to some. The way it is structured, you really pile on the points if you've just got a new canopy.
  2. Don't know if the wingloading for the origional sabre is vastly different from sabre2 but from your profile, you are loading this canopy at the high end of advanced, just outside the expert wingloading!
  3. Retail is * 083, 089, 097 - $1880.00 * 107, 120 - $1927.00 Got my order in with my dealer
  4. That was my first instinct but it's £17, unless anyone on here has an ID. It would be cool to send him a copy of this thread.
  5. Getting woried now, I was driving along today and saw a train going over a bridge. That must mean I'm training to be a train spotter!!! Don't know if you have them in the states, but they are wierd people who stand at railway stations in anoraks and carry thermos flasks and write down the numbers of all the trains that go through.
  6. The funny thing is any whuffo female thats ever been out with a skydiver would probably never do it again, and anyone that hasen't just think we are mad, so I doubt it's gonna help him! Zeemax, I did a few at Headcorn on Saturday and could hardly feel my fingers when I got down it was so cold. Going to Sebastian on 6th March for 2 weeks to pick up my Katana and do team training with golden balls Lynchie
  7. Also his Social Setting says 'Home Body' not only sad for someone who lives with his parent, but doesn't home body just fit a skydivers profile NOT!!!
  8. Yes it is James, and I don't use dating sites, I'm writing a dating site for a client. If I did use dating sites, my preference would be women not men, but I wouldn't search for them either cos I'm very happily married. BTW My wife will read this!
  9. Had a laugh today, I'm currently developing a dating website in the UK, and have spent a fair bit of time on dating sites checking out there features etc. I find it amazing the number of men on these sites claiming to be skydiving instructors. The bozo in the link below was the funniest as his picture is of him at my local DZ (where I am an instructor) on the flightline in a tandem student harness. I've never seen him before in my life yet he rekons he's an instructor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://uk.personals.yahoo.com/personals-1072291073-943042
  10. I have a Wings with a Cordura BOC and a hackey, I've had it for about 300 jumps, and pull has always been nice, good resistance but never hard. As already mentioned in the thread be careful aout asking them to make it tight for the main, as mine was tight in their standard configuration! Congratulations on your great choice of a fantastic container!!
  11. The 416 is assuming it is done in a vacum i.e. no air resistance, so it's safe to say we won't see those types of speed.(well worked out, I got the same figure!) I don't think we'll see anything much faster than what people are currently doing, as air resistance is related to an element of velocity squared and an element of velocity cubed. If it was just related to velocity squared then doubling velocity would give four times as much air resistance. In a headdown configuration it could easily be that doubling the velocity could give about 6 times the air resistance so those extra few mph would be very hard to obtain. I would say the way to go would be to reduce air resistance on the helmet and any other leading edges (shoulders) That's just my humble opinion, but I am the chief wind tunnel technician for the Mclaren F1 team! In answer to the origional question I would say 400 will never be seen (with our current atmosphere and gravity)

    UK Artistic Nationals

There are 2 classes; A and B. For class A all 3 team members must be FF2, and there are 3 compulsory rounds and 2 Free rounds. For class B at least 1 team member must be FF1 and I believe there are 4 free rounds. Don't assume this will be the case next year, give the BPA a call!

  14. Was it this little friend Clair, she's my little friend aswell. Bin doing quite a few jumps with her this winter in England. Weather not as good as Sebastian, she is coming back in February, and I'm coming out in March.
  15. If u r in Sebastian then Chris Lynch should be there now at the Free Fly Training Centre. A couple of jumps with him could really let you know how you are doing, and iron out any problems. I did a load of coached jumps with him last year, and he's not only a fantastic flier but gives a graet brief and a video debrief. I think it was his slot + $25, which was cash well invested. Good Luck If you see him say Hi from James
  16. Done about 20 on a Spectre 97 loaded at 1.7. Flies really nice, inputs are very direct, stall is still progressive predictable and easily controllable. Will not swoop as long as a sabre2 of same loading. Openings are a bit snivelly but can spank you a bit at the end. Hope this is of help
  17. I've found for both flat and FF, that if someone is struggling on fall rate (fast or slow) if they compromise body position for fall rate they will loose a degree of control. The key is to try and dress for sucssess. Try and extend this to your regular jumping partners by getting them in something tighter. I've just bid on some freefly gloves, which are webbed, and I'm hoping they will get me down to flat speeds, I'll let u know how I get on!
  18. Just seen instances of low timers going out Free Flying and covering large horizontal distances along the flightline, this gets compounded when head down, as they sometimes think they are head down when they are actually tracking on their backs.
