it's no fun, i can tell ya that. i had a cataract on my right eye for about 5 years before i let them do th operation. now, whenever i fly head down, the lens implant slips downwards thus causing obscured vision.you may want to see what your options will be with just one eye. just having one eye gives you a "bird's eye view" because their eyes are exactly 180 degrees opposed to each other. eye surgery and vision correction is at an all time high in technology and teqniques. good luck, be safe. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

i just found out that a very dear friend of mine, who is a single mom, was told today by her 16 year old daughter that her step-father was sexually abusing her since age 9. the couple i speak of are getting divorced and the young lady is no liar, that much i know. my friend called me and asked me what should she do, i told her to let me think on it for a while. her daughter is traumatized by this whole situation and doesn't know what the hell to do, she is undergoing some tests right now to confirm her allegations. i, personally have no place in my heart for child molesters/abusers...period. there is no excuse for this type of behaviour from an adult. years ago down here, he would have been lynched, which is really what he deserves now. when i think about the hundred of thousands of innocent children who are abused each and every year it makes me sick to my stomach. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

at the risk of sounding rude, i would make the comment that this sport isn't for everyone. with everything you've mentioned that has happened to you, i haven't had that much go wrong in over 500 jumps (but, jump numbers don't mean a thing) it sounds to me like your experiencieng sensory overload, slow down and if you don't fully understand something, ask, and keep asking until you get a response that you can understand. it's hard to adlib in freefall. one more small piece of advice.....relax, and have fun with each and everyone of your sky dives. and remember, arch fixes everything!

your probably not going to believe this, but there was some confusion before the operation. the nurse asked my wife "is it the left knee? my wife responded by saying "right" and they marked the right knee. i asked them why they did that, and they responded "to make sure we get the correct knee fixed, so we mark it before we go into OR" i told them "well, ya marked the wrong one" the nurse said "what do you mean?" i said "it's my left knee, not my right one" then she said "your wife told me it was the right knee, by this time i was getting PO, i said "erase the *ucking mark on the right knee and mark the left one!" she immediately complied, good thing i wasn't "under" yet, i would have been one PO MF! i've got the swelling under control alternating ice and a hotpack, and i am now able to put all of my weight on it and walk unassissted by crutches, tomorrow, leg raise machine to see how much i can lift with it. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

i had my reconstructive surgery done tuesday morning, it took about 2 1/2 hours. my doc tore my ass up for letting it go for so long, because "it shredded my cartlidge" under my kneecap. i'm not real sure what that was they gave me right before i went under in my IV line, but it was yummy! i've been slowly putting more and more weight on it, a little at a time, but still cannot walk without the aid of crutches. they've got me on Darvocet & Vicodin for pain relievers, reading the ingredients it's little more than acetamenaphine and tons of it, but it works on a 6 on a scale of 1-10. tomorrow i will be walking without crutches (if the pain continues to subside) then i'll get on the bench and see how many foot pounds i can stand, hopefully the rehab will be short. thanks for everybody who sent their vibes when i needed them. take care, be safe. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

i'm going in for surgery on my left knee tuesday. i have little if any cartkidge left in the joint, and may wind up having a knee replacement surgery. my doc says 3-4 week rehab, i say BS! i'm a licensed personal fitness trainer and i own all of my own equipment, and i believe i can do it in less than a week. although i won't be able to jump, i'll still be around to visit drop zones in my area. please send vibes, i need them, this is scary stuff. thanks. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
