    BPA AGM 2006

    Fun begins TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I'm sure Mike, Caroline and the rest can answer for themselves if they want to, but I most certainly wasn't aware Kyle Thomas was doing camps at Netheravon! He's currently a university student with a few hundred jumps who jumps there at weekends! For what it's worth, I also put a positive review up about Netheravon. I have no financial interest whatsoever in doing so, I was simply telling it like it is. I see that many others have done the same. For someone with only 10 spare minutes in a day, you seem to be able to spend a lot of time posting to this thread... but you STILL can't seem to find a minute to fill in your profile and tell us who you are! Or did you forget again?! Nethers is a great DZ, sorry you don't see it that way! Vicki
  3. Do bears sh*t in the woods?! Vicki

    BPA AGM 2006

2 days to go... anyone else excited yet???!!! It's gonna be soooooooo much fun! Vicki
  7. [ Symbi offer their mega booties in cordura on their XL suits. Not sure what material the mega booties are on their Slowpo suits. If you call Rob at Symbi, he will be more than happy to work with you to make a suit that will work for you. Vicki
  8. I have had Symbi suits with both and the difference seems to be: Normal booties start just above the ankle and flare out to the foot from there. They tend to be made from the same material as the legs on your jumpsuit. Mega booties start at the knee and flare out to the foot from there. They tend to be made of Cordura. Mega booties provide more lift and much more leg power than normal booties. I love my mega booties! I suggest you give Rob at Symbi a call and discuss which will best suit your needs. Vicki

    BPA AGM 2006

OMG!!! Only a week to go... This time next week we'll all be WANKERED!!!!!! Vicki
  10. Nethers (also England) - FF go after FS. Vicki
  11. That's not the case everywhere in England!!! Different DZs have different rules on exit order. Vicki
  12. When I do my pre-exit gear check (I'm in the UK and we do full gear checks on all jumpers regardless of experience before boarding the aircraft) I say to myself (and visually check or feel for): 3 rings 3 attachment points (leg, leg, chest) 3 handles (main, cutaway, reserve) I will then also get someone to do a visual check of my pin as well. Vicki
  13. Not sure if you're willing/able to travel... but there is a Skyventure wind tunnel in Malaysia which from everything I have heard is excelent value for money. hth
  14. Clicky: http://www.skydiveempuriabrava.com/noticies2.php?id=2&idnoticia=24 Thanks Regan! Vicki
  15. If you are interested in finding out what the BPA does, you could start by looking here: http://www.bpa.org.uk/council_matters.htm and here: http://www.bpa.org.uk/historicalminutes.htm Vicki
  16. I don't think so - certainly not as far as I'm aware anyway! There are accounts sent out to members once a year but they are super vague. e.g. (from memory) various staff salaries come under the safety budget etc... Vicki
  17. Nah, I'm going through post-boogie detox! The parties at Empuria were a touch TOO good... but I had fun! Catching up on sleep for a week or two as well... Vicki
  18. If you want to jump at any UK DZ - yes. 3rd party insurance of (again off the top of my head) £2 million in the UK, and a pointless, lesser amount abroad, but not US or Canada (i.e. if jumping abroad, you need other 3rd party insurance - most travel policies have this). YOu also get 6 magazines per year. Vicki
  19. If the rumours I've heard are rightt, £1 more than last year - so (off the top of my head) £112.60. Vicki
  20. I always take my rig as hand luggage. I have a mini rig bag which I use and it looks very inconspicuous. I would never sling my rig over my shoulder and carry it on board - asking for trouble IMHO! I have very rarely been asked questions about what I am carrying - most baggage screeners at security seem well trained and recognise the rig for what it is and have no problem with it. (I do approx 5 return journeys per year with my rig) I have only ever once (Phoenix airport of all places!) had to produce my cypres card. The only other time I had a problem was flying out of Luton a couple of weeks after the London 7/7 bombings. The security people there informed me that it "wasn't allowed" for me to take my rig on as hand luggage because I could hijack the plane and then parachute out. (Whatever!) I stood my ground, asked for a supervisor, waved CAA letter around, insisted that they call the airline (Easyjet in this case) and was eventually allowed to take my rig on as hand luggage. My advice - FWIW - carry rig on in a bag which is within the airlines sizing guidelines. Ensure you have the cypres card and CAA letter with you. Say nothing unless asked! hth! Vicki
  21. I heard a rumour (so don't take it as any more than that!) that BPA membership was going to increase by £1 this year. Fingers crossed that is true! Vicki
  22. Perris/Elsinore maybe? I was there in March/April a couple of years ago and had a great time with nice warm weather. Vicki

    BPA AGM 2006

With Christmas and New Year over the highlight of January - the BPA AGM - is rapidly approaching. Details here. So... who's going?! Vicki
  24. Moi???!!! Glad you enjoyed it Sheri - it was a pleasure to meet you! Vicki
  25. It looks like you all had loads of fun - Bedford rocks! I'd be jealous, but I think we were having as much fun in Empuria misbehaving in the Orange Kiwi! Vicki
