  1. Do you trust the stroboframe by itself or do you have some kind of strap on it too?
  2. Thanks man. That's what it looks like now that I took that ring off of it. But I paid an extra $40 for this clear cover that screws on to the inside of the ring.
  3. Nevermind. I just read the instructions and figured out what you guys meant. Thanks. That's what it was. I guess I should have read that first So the UV filter I bought to protect it isn't going to help, huh
  4. It looks like the lens cap is only 1 piece. I took it off and put on a uv filter I bought for it. I tried it w/o the uv filter too and it's still there.
  5. I just bought a sigma 15mm for my digital rebel today. It's got a pretty bad vignette with it. Is it supposed to be like that? The guy that sold it to me at Norman Camera said it wouldn't. Does anyone else have this setup? Thanks.
  6. I think I can spot ok by looking down, but this sounds interesting. I don't think I get it though. Could you explain it again? Being able to spot with the door closed could come in handy in MI.
  7. I have 5 kids. My wife has made it very clear that she will NEVER jump EVER with ANYONE, but if she would I'd love to take her. I don't try to talk her into it though. Not because I'm afraid we'll die and leave the kids alone, but what if she sprains an ankle or something. Then it would be my fault for talking her into it. I guess if I didn't think it was safe enough for my wife, I couldn't in good conscience do it with someone else's wife or Mom or whatever either. There's always a chance of some kind of freak accident or plane crash, but we ride together in the same car together all the time. We don't worry about dying together then (except for if she's driving) T
  8. Dude- Wish I could make it. Had a great time jumping with you last weekend. You guys in Clewiston ROCK! Thanks again for saving our vacation after "The Un-Boogie" @ Marco Island.
  9. With the reserve on your front, were you supposed to flip over onto your back to dump it?
  10. Wow! It's amazing how much things have changed. Just the other day I was talking to a couple of "newer" guys and I was feeling like 8 yrs in the sport was a long time. This really puts things in perspective for me. I feel like a newby again. I guess compared to you guys I am. I was going to ask what average fall rates were in those huge suits, but I'm guessing there weren't protracks back then either
  11. I searched this forum and this is the only time it's come up so I gotta ask.. What's wing war?
  12. I assume you were all belly flyers back then, right? I mean you couldn't freefly in those rigs could you? It's funny cuz it looks like they're all wearing FF suits.
  13. This sucks. I knew we should have driven up there after that Marco Island fiasco. Sounds like it would have been worth the 5 hour drive. Glad you all had a good time.
  14. I think if I had known all that I would have planned my vacation differently. They should have been up front about all that shit to begin with. Hearing it now kinda pisses me off.
  15. Hey CONGRATULATIONS guys! What a beautiful place to get married! Too bad about the boogie. I would have loved to have been able to celebrate with you guys. Congrats Again! By the way, I didn't see any CASA at Labelle. They wanted $23 for a Caravan. Not sure about the $10. I can't believe so many people went for that when there was another Caravan only about 20 miles away
  16. Sorry about that Chris, but I wasn't going to stay there with no boogie or even a DZ close by. I came there all the way from Michigan and wanted to jump. It'll be a few more months before I get another chance. PM me and let me know how much deposit they screwed you on though. I'll pay my share. We stopped by Labelle and stayed for about 20 minutes. Everyone I talked to there was either bitching about Marco Island or apologizing for it. Kinda seemed like a crappy vibe. Plus, I didn't feel like paying $23/jump into that place and an extra $10 registration fee for nothing. By that time I felt like I'd been screwed enough. So we drove to Clewiston which was right up the road and had a kick ass time. Thanks to everyone @ Clewiston for saving my vacation! You guys rock!
  17. Hey Mark. I was just talking about you in another thread.... Really, none of the stupid things I do are planned
  18. Thats a nice looking rig. It looks alot more like a sport rig than a Strong. I was just using eclipse as an example, Id really like to try all of them. That coud be a real challenge though if I have to find an examiner for each one.
  19. That sounds cool. What hotel? How many other people do you have in there? What's the cost going to be?
  20. Me and another guy from Michigan are coming down, but we have no idea where we're going to stay yet. Anybody got any floor space for rent ? Also, we're arriving at Ft. Myers about 1pm on thurs and we're renting a car. Anybody need a ride?
  21. That's amazing to me. I'll bet that out of my 300 or so tandems at least 90% have asked to do flips. I wonder why the huge difference? I've done front flips on just about every jump since day one. Not for any particular reason other than that's the way everybody else does it where I jump so that's how I learned. The only time I refuse is if they're way old or fat or something.
  22. Got it. Thanks. So, as a Strong TI, if I wanted to try out an Eclipse it would technically have to be with an examiner right?
  23. I'm not planning on doing anything stupid. Just wondering if it's written somewhere that the guy with the rating has to carry the rig?
  24. Yeah. Thanks. But, what's a super drouge? I've never noticed Drouge Slam so maybe I've been jumping one, but I've never heard it called that.
