  1. Rumour has it I've been voted off the island... Hmmm...guess if I have to go, I might as well add to the hottie count in my wake!!! Thanks to all for showing Joanna a good time - she was hurting last night when I saw her...but boy did she have some stories to tell. A direct quote from her last week was, "I don't know why I don't like hanging out with my friends anymore, but you skydivers are just SO MUCH FUN!!!" Now, if only I could get her through AFF...we'd have her hooked in our little world, and it'd be all over!!!
  2. Don't worry bro - I'll still coach you on FF techniques when you come back to the sport. You've done pretty good with what I've taught you up to now!!! I used to think there was nothing greater than skydiving. Then I got hurt, and I realized just how much this sport affects other aspects of my life. Since I've been back into the sport - I have had a greater appreciation for not forgetting that life has many facets, and jumping CAN be ONE OF THEM. Since the birth of my second nephew, I too have thought long and hard on what it would be like to miss critical aspects of his maturity and growth. I respect your decision - I completely understand your motives - and I wish you NOTHING BUT CONTINUED HAPPINESS IN LIFE. Just don't go preventing Brennan from jumping when he turns 18...don't be 'that dad'!! Enjoy the rest of your summer, and all your free time!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. More sad news

I have nothing... There are few 'silent wonders' in this sport - those at the dz that become faces you 'expect' to see. Brian was one of those that I always enjoyed running into. He was funnier than $hit, and friendlier than anything. I have great video of him flying his BM suit and even better memories playing poker against him. I do not understand his motives, or his reasons, but I hope he found peace with himself. Those he left behind will surely find peace eventually - and we are all blessed to have met him - but there were other ways. I share Lee's sentiment - I would give anything to any friend who needed it if it meant they wouldn't choose this route. I am bummed, and hope his family finds peace with the rest of us. Flock on, Brian - forever. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  4. Provided a certain new *career* hasn't started that will interfere with this plan - I am still planning on being there as PKP (Primary Kitty Packer). I also understand this comes with the distinct privledge of jumping video on the 30th jump which I'm going on record now as saying will be a HUGE FUNNEL dive with as many can get up on the load. Depending on what size you both need - my rig is available for everything but the last jump, and other than that - don't forget to be supplying the packers with drinks/refreshments PRN. Can't wait - should be a Dirty Hippie, Kitty bunch of fun!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  5. It's sad when we lose anyone from our community, but someone who has touched so many, and befriended even more is always harder. I finally had the pleasure to meet Shannon at Dublin this year, and she lived up to every image she put across on dz.com. Warm, friendly, vivacious, and I could sense lots of fun to be around. My sympathies go out to her family, her fiance, and her friends...near and far. From what I can see already - she won't just be missed...she will be profoundly missed! Live large with Holly, Nate, Chris, and all the rest of our brothers and sisters - Shannon! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  6. Stay Tuned... Airial Visionz Freefall Productions LLC, in association with SKYFEST 2006, will be offering the FIRST ANNUAL VIDEOGRAPHY SCHOLARSHIP. Details to qualify are being finalized, but this is a great opportunity for US jumpers interested in becoming a tandem videographer by getting some Experienced Coaching from someone they respect, and ultimately can learn from. Experienced Videographers - this is a great way to get your slot covered - and pass on a little of what you've learned along the way! Nominations are NOW being accepted by DZO's and Experienced Videographers. Jumpers - feel free to nominate yourself, but letters of recommendation and verification of jump numbers are required. The type of person who should be considered would be: Someone that shows up on bad weather days and bugs the video guys for tips, information, and help setting up their gear? This person may not have all the means to get the gear, but they are dedicated to getting their flying skills down and are piecing the gear together slowly. Does this person display the qualities a DZO/Video Guy would want to see at the dropzone promoting the sport? No one will be excluded from consideration, but this scholarship is aimed at someone looking to develop their flying skills, not get additional money for gear or is looking for some free jumps. Also, attendance at Skyfest is not required to win, but it is recommended (if I am going to be there - you should too!!)! More to follow within the next 2 weeks...!! PM me with questions. 7. Plenty of HOTTIES have already replied... Lurking on the work computer, but I once in a while plug in the laptop for a bit of the ol' dirty-dirty net surfing on the clock!!! Thanks to all of you - very sweet of you to remember this ol' dogs b-day!! And T, you heal up so we can teach you how to PROPERLY land your canopy for once...!! I'm so sorry you're hurt, but heal quick and if you ever want to come out to the dz for some hangin' out - I'll come get you myself!!! Again - thanks to you all!!
  8. Those were the 5 that Robbie knew how to play on the guitar...right, lee??!!! j/k Robbie...gotta make light of it somehow! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  9. This shouldn't be too hard...I'm in my 5th month of an alcohol-free YEAR!! Nov 30, 2005 was my last drink*, and I now don't miss it at all. It took a good month to really remove itself from my diet, but I had my first "real" boogie experience in Dublin, and didn't miss it at all. It can be done...and good luck to those who participate. Personally, it's help me change quite a bit...and now others are noticing too!
  10. in response to labrys and dougiefresh... if you knew me AT ALL - you'd know how it was meant. 'Nuf said. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  11. First - MAD props go to Hans & Sandy, Greg, and the pilots (Brad & ??)...they worked their asses off so jumpers could come together and have a great time...and nobody 'profited' from it (except that a$$hole who took Robbie & Marianne's computer). Thanks to all the visiting jumpers who came to support us, and help our reputation as a "great place to visit" grow. Esp. Julio and Christie from
  12. I can't believe with all the camaraderie in the sport...something like this could happen. To whomever took it - I hope you get what is sincerly coming to you for such an inappropriate act...your house burns down, your favourite pet gets hit by a car, your wife leaves you for your own brother. You're a coward - simple as that. Not only have you stolen physical property from two of the nicest individuals in the sport, but Marianne is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Georgia...so you've not only delayed a very successful student from her studies, but you've stolen federal property. Don't think that your act was simple in any means for your punishment won't be. R&M, I hope you get it back...and if not - if I can help replace some of your music files - I'll burn you my entire IPOD library. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  13. I'm proud of all my skydiving allegiances (?sp)...esp. those that are aligned with such hotties!!! Sorry Bolas...the rule is video!! But you're the cutest Lil' Smoky of them all!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  14. Spend my b-day WITHOUT my family...unheard of!!! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  15. Thanks Chuck...that helps put it in perspective!! After all that happened this past weekend...I came home last night to discover that my dog had eaten the ONLY rolls of film that DID survive this weekend. I guess I should be comforted... No evidence of this weekend...therefore, no memories!! Moving forward... Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  16. that someone else has experienced EVERY POSSIBLE CAMERA DISASTER IMAGINABLE... ...IN ONE WEEK... and lived to tell about it. Please...for the love of F###ING GOD tell me that I will see the other end of this and be better for it. I swear if ONE MORE THING happens in relation to my video efforts...I'm throwing my F###ING helmet out the door at 13,000. I am simply baffled by the fact that in the span of 3 days...if you can name the DISASTER...I've had it. WTF is the point... Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  17. Thanks Karen (lew)... I need all the experienced help I can get. I might have to trap you at Rantoul this year and pick your brain!! ;) or not. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  18. I'll be in touch after tax day, but it looks like the chances of me making it out there just got a little better thanks to some friends offering me a seat in their minivan. what's your dog policy (for the record...I'll probably leave Kaha behind anyway). Jay - PM me the details involved with the scholarships...so I know what to start looking for. Weee...jumping in houston...who'da thunk it. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. 19. I'll try to get the Farm crowd to show some support, but work is work... ...besides - there's this really, REALLY GAY guy from down there - and if he's there - I'm definately NOT GOING. Might know the guy...about 5'6", balding, older man - frequently being told, "quiet little doggie" - or something like that. Yup - he's a FLAMER!!!Kept trying to feel me up at the Dublin campfire! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  20. I would love to see two very cool tie each other up in knots... wait...no... dammit...I knew I misread that! 22. Yeah - that was me... I thought the one I did earlier with SM1 was fast, but DAYUMM!!! Exit weight of 530...I should have been in a jock strap, a green beret and a light coat of oil!!! (thank SM1 for that one!!) Help your camera man out next time they look that big...at least put the tandem in a j/s - that might have at least let me CATCH YOU...nevermind get the video!! Anyway - it was a fun experience - albeit a much learned from one!! Look forward to seeing you again, bro. Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  23. Thanks Bob...just went through all the photos... Great work!! I even found a hidden one of me that I wasn't expecting!! I'll want to see if you can blow that one up - otherwise - I'll just keep my eyes out for more in the future! You have such a good eye! Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
  24. Have been having problems with gray lines. Only had them recently and they have contributed to MANY recent disasters... Have been told to clean heads, but then was also told that using a head cleaner "scars" your heads (possibly if left on too long, others said "period"). Not sure what is going on, but am looking to avoid problem altogether. Any helpful advice. Might have also been factor of recording in LP mode vs. SP...made that switch already. Just looking for anything to alleviate this problem before season gets too busy. Thanks, Kahurangi e Mahearangi, Kiwi, RB #926, AFF-I, FAA Snr. Rigger, RN/BSN/Paramedic
