  1. I don't really suggest the bunkhouse. Every time I've been there in the summer it was always hot, stuffy, and gross in there.
  2. While you are correct in your general statements, this particular video was of a dust devil. Myself, and the people that saw the incident all saw the dust devil once it left the grass. I got lucky and only hit the outer edge of it.
  3. I'm working on a project over the winter. Long story short I need to advertise with google. Their url requirements don't conform with default youtube Url addresses. So I need 75 more subscribers so I can get a shorter custom URL. Click this to subscribe. I only need 75 more and then you all can ignore me Thanks Edit: I'll subscribe back if you are into that sort of thing.
  4. The reason the person commented "and thats why we shouldn't be jumping right now" is because there were dust devils everywhere and a few massive ones further off the DZ. When those things move from dirt to grass they become very difficult to see. We followed one that was about 20 feet wide later in the say onto this same field. The only way you could see it was the couple pieces of trash that were in it.
  5. Wile I was there is march another jumper flew through the top of a dust devil and it collapsed their canopy. Luckily there were 1500 to 200 feet up they regained control pretty quickly but it was still scary to see.
  6. It was a small dust devil, I clipped the edge of it. The guy filming was telling that girl in the video that there were dust devils out and why they were dangerous (and there were) a few huge ones, couple thousand feet tall further off the DZ. DZ shut down after that load because it was getting dangerous.
  7. clicky I hit a dust devil back in March, just had the video supplied to me. It was fun.
  8. Also it would be a big help for the youtube channel to get a custom url so please subscribe only need 100.
  9. Blue Skies Trailer This is a collaborative project I will be creating over the winter.
  10. Sounds about right. I think last year the sunset load was at 11:55ish, which is crazy because the sun is below the mountains, but not the horizon. Way fun though.
  11. https://youtu.be/VsQaudnQnDE Just a little edit my buddy put together of some jumps in Eloy.
  12. According to the SIM when they say minimum pull altitude they mean that altitude the pin is out of the container. In general the way I see people using it, it mean the altitude they reach at.
  13. It isn't that the feedback wasn't positive, I feel it was misplaced. It was my fault for not being clear enough in my original post. I tried the mount out and it works much better then the normal mount. It's not as good as the cookie roller mount but it was never intended to be. Thanks for the discussion.
  14. I understand completely, I've also been reminded why I never post on this site. Thanks to the people who critiqued my design for its intended purpose.
  15. My goal is to make a shield for myself. I want it to reduce the chance of the camera getting snagged without having to semi-permanently attach it to my helmet. I tested the mounts. The first one got snagged where chuck pointed out. The second one was much better than the first. Both of them were way better than the standard GoPro mount. I'm pretty happy with it, especially because it only took about an hour and the printing was free. I was hoping the people with more experience could tell me if they thought it looked unsafe.
  16. That was a good post. Unfortunately if you invert the trapezoid you have to contour the mount to the helmet and you can no longer use the GoPro sticky mounts. Essentially eliminating the two reasons I designated it. Anyway if you experienced folks think it won't work I'll just go with the normal GoPro mounting.
  17. Made it a little better. What do you think. http://i.imgur.com/50NXe4o.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/yTvL9iY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LCJx68W.jpg
  18. I'm happy with anything more snag resistant than the naked mount. I'm going change the dimensions to help eliminate the gap Chuck pointed out. It will be as flush to the curved adhesive mount as I can get it.
  19. No, no you're explanation was very good. The reason this mount is not able to be wider at the bottom than the top is because that would eliminate it from being universal and easily detachable. If it were wider at the base it would have to be contoured to the helmet. Making it helmet specific. Thanks for the feedback. Will redesign and post an update.
