  1. Rut roh! California Democrat and #metoo leader Cristina Garcia accused of sexual misconduct. Oops! https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/08/cristina-garcia-california-metoo-398985
  2. FIFY Where's the like button? I get the argument it wasn't the kids' fault their parents brought them in illegally. Doesn't give them an excuse. Send the kids back WITH the parents, and a referral to the legal immigration process.
  3. To no one in particular, a military flyover of several of our most advanced aircraft will do just fine IMO, as a reminder to the world what we are capable of. A military parade is just a waste of time. Far as I'm concerned, the military academies can have all the parades on campus as they see fit for their cadets, as if it's a rite of passage (correct me if I'm wrong).
  4. She's trying to protect illegal immigrants, got it. No wonder they're annoyed.
  5. You want annoying? Try Nancy Pelosi spewing shit about dreamers and DACA for EIGHT hours on the Senate floor. JFC, lady... 1-2 hours would have sufficed to make your damn point.
  6. That Kennedy needs a cat scan to see if he has brain damage. Looked like a bit of drool on the corner of his mouth while he was speaking. And Adam Baldwin won the internet last night...
  7. No, I’m not. We will add crumple zones and air bags, but not restrict cars to the speed limit. Why? Because that is a restriction on a freedom. That is the difference, that is where we draw the line. You’re ok with further restrictions on firearms, but not vehicles. Derek V To be fair, there are speed "governors" on some commercial vehicles and trucks. I'm not all that familiar on whether these are installed at the company's discretion or if it's a state requirement. But for sure, 18 wheelers and heavy vehicles don't need to be speeding due to the weights and distances needed to stop.
  8. It's worked elsewhere. Americans are not so different. Most of the are human. I'm talking about a long term buyback. It would reduce the numbers over a period of many years. Note, I said "reduce" not eliminate. To be fair, it's not going to prompt criminals holding illegal or stolen guns from turning them in. Thus putting upstanding citizens more at risk after they've sold their guns to the govt. They'll have to pry my legal guns from my cold, dead hands.
  9. Right.....only go there for the articles..... Don't look at me. I've never been to Hawaii. I have. You should go. Especially Maui. Bucket List. Worth it. Unfortunately, never flying commercial again is already on my bucket list. It's a long way from Southeast Ohio to Hawaii. OK I am curious. That seems an odd thing to aspire to - why? (If you don't mind me asking?) No, no problem. I just don't deal with the whole cattle car thing very well. I guess it's part of being spoiled, even at work I didn't have to deal with other people much more than I wanted to. i've only flown commercial twice in my life and I hated it both times, and that was before 9/11. If I need to then sure, I will but I'm fortunate enough that I don't need to fly for work or to visit family. And our favorite vacation spots are in Wisconsin and in Gulf Shores Alabama and either of those are easy drives. In fact, when you figure in having to rent a car and pare down what you take I think it's easier to drive to both. And the fact that the nearest airport is a little over 100 miles away doesn't help. That's not a big factor but they add up. It's like getting a root canal, I can if I have to, but I'd rather not. Well, to be fair... We flew first class there and back. American Airlines. Way better than the shitshow United is.
  10. Right.....only go there for the articles..... Don't look at me. I've never been to Hawaii. I have. You should go. Especially Maui. Bucket List. Worth it.
  11. Right.....only go there for the articles..... There are apps that let you create fake tweets. Not sure if this is one of them. I'm not going to investigate it, but it's hilarious nonetheless.
  12. Good point. Agreed. (I like Spam, BTW) SPAM Damn... Beat me to it.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5RE&t=4s ETA... funny shit... typed in "Monty Python" and the first line in the suggestion list was the spam scene.
  14. Agreed, which is why the founding fathers set the constitution up so it could be amended as times changed. As for these inmates, well... "What we have here, is a failure to communicate."
  15. Russia's and ours are maximized and calibrated to detonate at altitude for maximum damage. North Korea's is in the infantile stage, who knows what's going to happen. Could theirs detonate at the altitude you stated, or much lower? At any rate, it's definitely not like a giant TNT bomb, which will create a crater if detonated at ground level.
  16. It does not differentiate between private or public prisons. So, what I think doesn't matter. Besides, prison isn't supposed to be pleasant or club med. It's supposed to be a very unpleasant experience, so you don't want to ever go back again. Don't like it? Petition congress for a change in the amendment.
  17. http://www.newsweek.com/us-inmates-strike-against-prison-slavery-and-inhumane-conditions-martin-luther-781367 So, a bunch of prison inmates plan to strike on MLK Day over conditions they say amount to modern day slavery. Inmates are angry at being used as unpaid clean-up crews for storm debris in sweltering temperatures after Hurricane Irma struck the state. But there are also a long standing list of grievances... Seems to me they forgot to read the fucking Constitution of the United States of America. Specifically, the 13th Amendment, which, summarized, states: "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." In short, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Morons.
  18. Pakistan is probably the most likely source of a bomb falling into the hands of a non-state actor. Bingo.
  19. Yeah but it doesn't mean we're going to hit it first.
  20. From a democratic and anti-Trump perspective I'm enjoying watching his and the R party's support plummet like a rock. And elections with strong D turnout. "the incumbent president had been defeated" synonyms: current, present, in office, in power; reigning "the incumbent president Sorry, I worded my query wrong. I meant in the sense that I've only seen the word used when a current official is running for re-election. What I meant to say was "Is he running for re-election?" So, incumbent means current. Got it. Sorry. Brain fart.

  22. His promise to get rid of the carried interest b.s. was a lie, as was his promise (in the form of proposed brackets) to get rid of the marriage penalty. Well, I don't know all the details, but promises aren't always, if rarely kept. Congress writes the bills, not Trump. He can sign the bill into law or veto it.
