  1. I don't know of any places that offer jumps that high. Your best bet is probably Davis, CA. It's west of Sacramento.
  2. You're so cute.... I think it's 7 now. (but yeah, mostly used for military, and boogies) I just received notification that I'm talking out of my ass. That's 8 skyvans. Don't they lease a few out to other DZs for boogies?
  3. You'd be the ugliest drag queen ever, more than likely.
  4. You're welcome. I've alerted him to your query. If you don't hear from him this week, send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward it to him.
  5. I'm going to ask a friend who is a below knee amputee. Who knows, maybe he will get back on here to help you but its been years since he's been on here. He has had the osseo-integration surgery to have the prosthetic mounting hardware installed.
  6. IIRC Buzz Ansley and his Dive Rite team completed a 200 way over Myrtle Beach, SC in 1992 or 1993. Just a fun fact. So much acrimony between Buzz and the established old school big way jumpers over his revolutionary (at the time) jump suits.
  7. There is another amputee skydiver in Texas (mx757 on here) who is a left arm amputee. There have been at least 20 amputees jumping at one time or another across the US. So, no reason you can't do it. Spaceland in Houston is a good place to start.
  8. Sad news. Didn't the other blind skydiver that he jumped with years ago pass away too?
  9. Thank you for letting us know. I would eventually have been wondering why we no longer heard from him. His last post was on July 8, so I guess the timing makes sense. Not much you can do the last couple of weeks when suffering from what he had. Blue Skies Sinisa
  10. It's not that we don't have the balls, it's that we don't care. Get out and find out for yourself. That's what most of us did. ETA: We also for the most part, try to avoid putting dirty laundry on the site. Sangiro doesn't like it as he has gotten calls from lawyers for certain individuals or dropzones because of comments made on here.
  11. One would hope that a "professional skydive instructor" would recognise "a clapped out 182" and "old tandem gear", don't you think? He probably just doesn't want to go find out for himself.
  12. What she needs is an erection in her mouth just to shut her the hell up.
  13. Amusing part is there is no aviation noise shown anywhere around Longmont, nor the Gunbarrel CDP where the Grump lives. The closest one is the corridor that follows US36 and skims the Southern edge of Boulder. Sounds like it should be brought up to the lawyers for the drop zone... to use against CQS
  14. I hadn't thought of the regulations... Good tip. Plane modifications are regulated for safety reasons aren't they?
  15. There's a menu option at the top of the page titled "Dropzones", in between "News" and "Indoor". It should have all the DZs listed and where to find them.
  16. You could check with Skydive Temple and Skydive San Marcos. Both are a reasonable drive from Austin. Spaceland is a major DZ, its pretty busy. All in all, you've got plenty of choices.
  17. Hope you all have a great boogie there. I'm just not sure it's a good idea for Americans at this point in time, given the political animosity between our governments.
  18. Please, Colorado Supreme Court, slap her in the face and kick her dumb ass out.
  19. IIRC, Mr. Douglas is still sitting on the tarmac at the Tullahoma TN airport after blowing an engine over a decade ago. It's been a while since I heard any news, but as far as I know, that's the last known location. ETA: Looks like it's still there. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3788535,-86.2409618,94m/data=!3m1!1e3
  20. Ah... the Pink Flamingo Porter... I've actually done the bomb bay door jumps when it was at Gold Coast Skydivers in Moss Point, MS. Good times. "Jesus Jessie! Don't you think maybe you better go get him?!?" "MMM, lemme put my goggles on first"
  21. You'll get the hang of it eventually. It takes practice. Ask some experienced jumpers for tips on what worked for them. Preferably your S&TA or instructors first.
  22. There is a D-squared user on here but her name's Deedy, so probably somebody different...
  23. Probably because Skydive The Farm regulars made most of the posts. Most of them don't use DZ.com anymore.
  24. Ever dealt with a Homeowners Association? Same principle applies... I'd settle for streamed mtgs etc. Any excuse why they "can't" is pretty much non-serious at this point. Facebook offers live-streaming. As does youtube, I think. Wouldn't take much effort to set it up.
