I did 6 and we did a total of 7 demo's during the day in the Quad City area for the Quad City Demonstration Team. The last one at dusk with fireworks all around us landing on a golf course. One of the best 4th of July's I will ever have. Tight landing areas with ball field lights all around, dogs running after the first to land, and the crowds going wild all day. Well not wild but pretty enthusiastic... Used smoke and flares and streamers. Didn't get to carry the flag yet though Andy...maybe next year!! Well I tried. After talking to the producer several times and the last time being promised I was on... Maybe Sean found out why I was calling and knew I would ask him to come jump he chickened out... Tomorrow I will probably get on the radio talk show to talk to Sean Salisbury about comments he made in January, comparing the football playoffs and regular season to jumping out of a helicopter... from 100' or 10,000'. I don't believe he has ever made a jump and I am going to put him on the spot and challenge him to come out to my home DZ's and jump... The show is on from 9 to Noon so tune in if you can and hear what Sean has to say......... Spreading the GOOD word about Jumping, lt tom #90 #54 #08 and now #5 with a Bronze :-)

Yo YO YO Jen!!!!! I am now in N Carolina because I refused to do Tandems on a Sunday when I had done 11 tandems and 2 aff on saturday. The boss thought he would tell me how and when to hurt myself. Guess he thought wrong...Now I get free jumps out of the casa'sssss YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I should thank the b&*^%^& huh???????? It also gave me a chance to do aff at the convention. People, don't do things that may cost you your life cause your boss wants it to cost you your job... Funny how things can work out huh. By the way where were you at the convention? Bill we always parked by an existing obstacle anyway so if they were going to hit they would have hit it anyway. And we were the only ones taking up students and clearing the lowtimers to jump and they were glad we were there to pick them up. Good post, while my opinion may not count for much, here it is. It was a smooth run convention, not too much mayhem and it was clean. You can make of it what you want. Everyone should go at some point. This was my first but it won't be my last. Next year I will rest up before for a couple weeks just to get ready. Right on! WE all can be more aware of the low timers and thier needs. Lets hope there is a next year??? So lets use this as a building block to make things better not just harp on the things we would like different. Sometimes we all can't have exactly what we want...If we have to park out farther we will, but if hundreds of golf carts and 4 wheelers are zipping all over the place...well nuff said...Thanks for you input toooooo yoooooo! There were tons of golf carts and 4 wheelers constantly after every load with people trying to help and get people to try thier gear and demo thier stuff... did you miss all that? I mean lots and lots of different stuff in the landing area!!! And again we always parked by one of those obstacles that were covered by safety fence and that people had to go around anyway. Yo, How about checking yourself yo. Dennis only had our students in mind and we always parked by an obstacle that you had to watch out for anyway. How bad a canopy pilot are you that you had to have a problem with a small obstacle in that huge landing area. We tried to be as careful as we could and I believe we never had a traffic problem. Think about the aff students and all the golf carts in the landing area and maybe it weren't so bad eh... Let's try NOT to focus on the negative. Please... Wow what a Tripppppppp!!! Thanks to Dennis at Quad City Skydiving for giving me the oppertunity to jump and teach at the convention. My work mates were about as good as it gets. Claude and Donna and Nick and all who helped out, and Dennis who made it easy on us... And you students were GREAT, all of you!!!!!! Special thanks to Erin and Jeff. My first convention (I know, BEER) and I get in free and get to do aff is about as good as it gets for an instructor as far as I am concerned. And get this, after jumping out of Paul's Casa's all week, I get to work for him and go to Florida for the winter with the CASA'S YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Thanks for the Job Paul, I won't let you down... And lastly thanks to td for making me quit my old job and have all these great possibilities. Without knowing you helped me a ton. That smell was Matty, who will remain namelessssss... And I am sorry that you couldn't get the bench raised. If we know ahead of time we seat all the tandems on the port side so you guys can get up and put up the bench. Was there communication of this John. Even so we try to do our best...
