You haven't seen my "where is my lip gloss" video. Or my sleeping under the jumpsuits video. Wouldn't it be cool to do a competition. We all already have the evidence, lets find some judges and start submitting our vids. Or have the students send in theirs. What a gas this would be in the winter. If he wouldn't stop after it was deemed he should, then that is what they wanted, but not to arbitrarily pull his ticket. And it seems he stopped. Deal over. Isn't that the way it should be. Lets have a contest. It could be fun and maybe we could rasie money for a good cause or something. I am willing to put my safe and boring video up against this any day. Same students and have dispassionate judges and let all enter who think they have a good schtick. Safety first. WE would ALL learn alot from this and maybe raise money and have some fun toooooooo!!!! We need to have a good outcome to all of this and maybe this is the way. Any Corporate sponsers? Would be good for the tandem industry. Look like we want to make a difference when we can. It is wrong, IMHO, to think that just cause you don't have a tandem rating that you wouldn't be worth listening to or that you didn't know what safe was. Glad you spoke up though. Since you work there Andy did you say anything to anyone at the dz? if my first video had looked like this, I think I would've gone home humiliated and embarassed, I would have refused to show my video to anyone, and probably would have never made another skydive. I know somepeople think stuff like this is cool, but in all honesty - I just don't understand why. _Am I didn't mean to put this up and put you on the spot AM. Sorry about that. Hey "loudtom" rumor has it that you have a story to tell us all about landing in power lines on a "Tandem Jump" !!!!!! Should you still have a "Tandem Rating" ???? Yo is that you todd????????? Use your own name for crying out loud will ya chicken. Here is the story...I was landing by my cameraman, the dzo napolean davis, in the front yard of a farm house. Went long and slid between the road and the fence area and clipped the top of my canopy on a wire going from the road to the house. No damage at all and no effect at all on me or my passenger, just a slight discoloration on the top skin of the canopy about the size of a quarter. Didn't even need to be fixed. Now did I learn my lesson about following the cameraguy in a tight place. Yes. Did it ever happen again?? NO... And todd had good video. Ask him to show it to you. Is that all you got. BIG difference from the thread topic HUH!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about a witch hunt, golly gee batman get a life...Hardly landing in power lines ain't it, you, well you know what you are... You know what I don't have that many tandems only about 1200 or so and I can tell you that my student harness has never slipped to the degree that these harness's are off their students and the ti. And since I check all my straps and stuff before we leave the plane I can say my student or my harness for that matter hasn't slipped to the degree that you describe. And knowing they slip why would you want to put that much more slack in the system??? The slack needed to do these maneuvers! Makes no sense to me at all. And I agree that just looking at his vids he has alot of experience and talent. But again you must look at the big picture and right now we do not need the scrutiny. And I have personall knowledge of one of his students that was slightly hurt and sick from the jump she did with him... But not knowing any better she didn't want to make a big deal out of it... And I agree with the post about teaching people to skydive and giving them a taste of what it is really like and it ain't like that...most of the time anyway... peace out yo tom #90 #54 #08 and now #5 with a Bronze :-)

Hey Scotty, Don't get so angry dude. Some of the posters here won't even put up thier name. How passionate can they feel anonymously. I applaud you for standing up for what you think, misplaced as that may be. Did anyone notice that when you had your problem you were pulled off the website right away and they still have (the dzo's that is) themselves listed as S&TA's. Isn't that false advertising?????? Totally!.... and in this case, the dzos CONDONED this activity by posting these things in their weekly updates over and over! They need to fire themselves! Ok... I'm done... Ok you weren't done and that is ok toooo... This is related to the other thread about what is happening to skydiving in general. The dzo's of this place have to hire new tm's every year. I worked there a year and a half and that was a long stint. I see how they need to make money but being poor management contributes more than anything else. Unprofessional personnel in the window that no-one will talk about. Having to change people every year. Three years three different riggers and Farmer is one of the best and after what he put up with in Morris he couldn't handle the shit they did to him here. I realize this post could be removed for personal attacks but I am just telling it like it is... And it is all related to letting this tm do as he pleases. They have to hire someone... And they refuse to let anyone tell them what to do with their business. Hence it is falling apart... just my opinion. Can anyone say why Ted Strong will/has not gotten involved in this "incident"? Isn't that why they have I/E's and waivers to sign for different manufacturers? So we can police our own. I have heard it quoted from this ti that he has more tandems than alot of people have jumps. So he must be good. But we all need to look at the big picture, and realize the scrutiny we are ALL subjected to. What if all the little tm's out there decided they wanted to try it? I was on a skyvan load and they were putting students out that were on radio and student gear pulling at 4500 feet who were at the same time on 8-ways before big freefly groups who were pulling at 3000 feet. ----------------------------------------------- As one of the AFF instructors with many of those students you are talking about, let me explain. We always used the student, or Tandem landing area. With east jump runs we had to get out first to allow our students to land in their designated landing area. Every group after us usually landed in the main landing area so they wanted to be farther east. Knowing our students were pulling higher than than they were They usually gave us more time than normal on exit to keep from falling over us. We discussed this with most of the people who asked why we would be going out first and no-one I talked to had a problem with it. It makes sense doesn't it? When there was a west jump run we obviously got out last as is the normal procedure. ------------------------------------------------ I had a problem with that but felt like an idiot when i said something. -------------------------------------------------- You never talked to me. And I cannot believe any of my fellow instructors would have made you feel this way. WE had a great response from the flight line people and most people in the planes!! WE were only concerned with the safety of our students as well as people jumping with us on the same plane. ---------------------------------------------- Yes we need to police it ourselves and it is all very easy to saythat on the internet but saying it on the plane and having anyone listen is a different story. ------------------------------------ Just as there are no stupid questions in skydiving if you are not sure about something and thought it unsafe then shame on you for NOT speaking up and making yourself heard.
