funny thing, last time I checked money can be earned. and if I still live and work in the same place service rendered = sale. nothing wrong with capitalizing on that. the skydive experience looks like it makes sense, somthing about being stable, able to track, shit like that. as for seeking a guru, . perhaps there is a shared spark that made you feel really special, but we are not cave men and you do not hold the proverbial flame. your conversation has been had, is base jumping really so commercial that it's borderline uncool for you or spirital or whatever? I personnally feel that it is important to communicate experience, adds to the collective memory as it were, and with all the mindless drivel out there it's nice to come across somthing that is as breathtaking as BASE or climbing or really fast street bikes, or wind surfing or hang gliding, or scuba or anything else that stirs the soul. i think there are laws at work here to such as "once in motion stays in motion" or energy can be created but not destroyed..so why try to contain somthing in a neat little package, let it go freely, perhaps with time and tact people may not look at BASE as crime, maybee those guys making the HOPE system will be able to sell a couple thousand rigs for high rises... i tore a ligament in my left arm 3 months ago skydiving,.. just got back in the air friday, i was totaly cool on the climb to altitude. i no longer felt immortal but i felt good.. i was going to work on my sit w/ the coach i went up with, but after 3 failed attempts to hold it , i aborted, and fell down the tube to 5000 popped the chute, it opened just fine, had a good stable position on deployment, and flew a tight little pattern on home.. i was really concerned about the last 15 feet as well, and i flared a little early, but it was all good.. a little plf and what not... i had built up some mental blocks that needed taken out of the picture, and now they're gone and i can get back into it.... 15 minutes after the jump and all and i mean all was right with the world...... aahhh !!!!!!!! it's been to long, had a little performance anxiety on the landing even though it was a slow flyin triathalon 190, i still managed to give myself an uneven flare. i was mad nervous about re injuring myself, but i got out there, tried to sit, and guess what, i can't fly anymore. belly flying is still easy. guess i'll lhave to start jumping every weekend again now........... ohhh welll skydive san diego is cool.. very cool scenery and landing area. good packing area. good rental gear. not the latest and greatest, but well taken care of and functional. instructor dude i requalled with is an incredibly proficeant freeflyer.... i know peace, once again. it's good to get back to it.........
