  1. Hey Frost and Blink, Frost you are correct in your comments, I had the same discussion today, about camera that cost $1000 and accessories as such. Blnk is correct regarding the process. You have built a nice cage also an we can appreciate your efforts getting to this point. You also can not forget the relative cost relationships between Hypeye's, lenses, mounts and then helmets verses camera costs If we could guarantee sales of 10000 units the end price would certainly be different and we would have a robot feeding big chunks of alloy into our expensive machine and I would not be reading these forums enjoying the banter, but kicking back with a mixer on my yatch. We are coming to the end of the CX100 life span. I hope that Sony will release a great skydiver friendly camera at the next CES. Or the Go Pro camera is so kick ass that we may see the death of the traditional sony camera's for skydivers. Either way I truly enjoy the challenges ahead and appreciate your coments, assitance and feedback. Cooke
  2. Sure You just need to drill and tap four holes.
  3. Eloy hey, half your luck. The Cages are available now, I know Chuting Star Star has order stock. On the Atomic, the design of the helmet sizes is locked down and on to production for tooling development. I keep saying not long now however we are definetly a step closer. I will not talk of release dates as I always get them wrong. Cookie
  4. OK, dimensions Cage is 110mm L x 65mm H. The aproximate Hypeye location is 85mm from the front and 25mm down from the top. Blink, thanks for the info on the zoom button. Cookie
  5. Yes that is what it is designed for. Cookie
  6. We have just finished our new Roll Cage design. Easy access to all the CX100 features Cookie
  7. As per my previous post. This camera slot off the wheel strut would be great for your TI's exit It does not require to much effort to hang on, I did have a few intial buises under my arm from working my way down the door with my left arm until I got to the floor then a quick switch to the wheel strut. Let me know if you need any more info. I may be able to find some old pic's of me hanging off the wheel strut. C
  8. All great info. The rear door float is great if the TM leaves from the door postion. I did work at an operation where doing tandems we would leave from the V. To shoot great video we would get into the door floater slot then work our way down the door and actually hang from the wheel strut looking straight up at the TM/passenger As the TM would roll over there feet I would leave. You cannot help but capture the passengers facial expression from this slot. AAHH! life on Great Keppel Island was so much fun. Cookie
  9. Hey all, I feel the exact same way. Why does it take so long?? You have all answered correctly. It does go like this Design, rapid prototype, testing, redesign, another rapid prototype, three weeks of cnc-3D machining for the aluminium molds. Prodution test run and hardware fitting. (We did also decided to machine our own hinges for this model, so we could get the seem in the correct postion). Test fitting. More production tooling. Yahoo we can now make some parts. Oh hang on. Post mold finishing, clear coating and now we get to assemble We certainly appreciate your patience and understand when frustration sets in. Well we will be shipping our first production run next week and plan to catch up with the orders in the next 5-6 weeks with a view to getting back to our usually 5-7 day shipping shortly after. During the design phase we up'd the anti, creating a stiffer base and a better fitting lid, coupled with our customed 6061 alloy hinge this new enclosure we feel you will be happy with. BTW our new GAS helmet is a piece of engineering art. You cannot beat carbon fibre, hi-tech foams and custom machined alloy parts, a real credit to the Cookie team. Sorry a shamless plug Cookie
  10. Our box dimensions are approximately L-140mm, W-70mm, H-65mm Cheers Cookie
  11. Hi There, Please send your enquiry to [email protected] We have just installed a new email fire wall to reduce spam so your email may be sitting in limbo. I'm out of the office (Thailand) until wednesday however Sally or Jeremy will certainly attend to your enquiry. Thanks all for your responses. Cookie
  12. Now that is a cracking clip. Iam going to use it for motivation for the next design. Cookie
  13. If any of you guys are heading to the Bedford World Challenge nextweek I will have a few demo's on site include some d3o test samples. As Lava lady pointed out I just competed at the Aussie Nationals last week. The GAS has a new gold medal in 8 way to boast about. We have done a few tweeks to the liner design since the PIA and last weeks nationals. This has improved helmet ventilation and a simpler closure mechanism. When I return home I will do a video blog of the complete helmet showing you all the features include visor removal/performance, intial adjustments and features. The helmet has a fixed visor ie no flip up. It has two audible pockets, oxygen inlet for canular hoses and d3o incorporated into the liner. Cookie
  14. The Aussie nationals are on. A new Aussie record has just been set by Rotor Out. More info on our blog http://www.cookiecomposites.com/blog/index.htm Cookie
  15. Yes the camera is small, however the box looks big around such a small camera. With the extra large battery and the hypeye we have had to grow the box design to fit this all in. It looks as though you will not have to remove the hand strap as there is room in the box for it. Cookie
  16. Hey Gary, I have attached our media release showing all our new gear for 2009. Cookie

Hey DSE, What booth are you at?? C
  18. Hey Doug, Thanks for the info. Can you bring your MC1 to Reno for us to check out?? See you there C
  19. Ok this thread has gone quiet. No new at the CES about this beauty and B&H has all the new gear ex CES. So when are we going to see this baby. C
  20. Just seen this thread pop up again. I have just been at a Boogie with a mate jumping his CX12 topmounted. Unfortunately his camera did experience some serious pixelation from head up to flat to head down. When viewing the jump on the lcd the image would mirror image itself occasionally- weird. I think he may have got a dud, so it's gone back to the shop. Any other user running similar issues? Cookie
  21. Nice work Trunk on the video upload, We have just sorted out our Blackbox CX11/12 it is a good fit. I really like to extreme slow mo on this camera Cookie
  22. Ok, Just shot a clip in the office with Liquid 5 lens and the TG-1 on a helmet. Here is the linkhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYxWmPULKC4 Yes Chris you are spot on regarding the Liquid 2 vignette problems Cookie
  23. Try this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCf014oorNk
  24. Hey Chris, No vibrations with the camera, it hs been jumped in all orientations with no shake. I jumped it on a belly mount and foot mount whilst testing some other gear. Sorry I can't show the top secret footage of some other new gear. All I can say it was a fantastically bright day and the footage was great. I needed to work on my manual focus setting routine but I think the best way is to set it up in auto, get it focused and switch to manual Regarding the lens. I have only shot footage on a helmet with the Liquid 3. Yes it does pick up the helmet. I will confirm the Liquid 5 tomorrow. The Liquid 2 has a vignetting issue. It is very wide but with the black corners. I know some guys have also done some jumps and I think they have added some clips to you tube. I will try and track them down Cookie
