Daizey

Is it written or an interview or a combination? My roommate just got finished with the NYPD psych exam last week. Her written test was 7 hours (started at 530 am-she had to be up at 3) and tomorrow she has her interview which is a follow up. I guess they review her test with her talk to her and at the end of the test tell her whether or not they will be accepting her to go on to the next step. Shes a nervous wreck! I don't remember anything she said about the test , but I'll ask her for ya when she gets home tonight. As for what to wear, I know she had to wear business atire-even to the written test. I'll get more deatils for ya tonight

Have you checked out the other dryer in the other apartment yet to see if it has a timer? Dont get too used to that particular one-you are gonna have to learn the settings on the other one here soon (unless you decide to leave us)...I think Eric said it has even more setting than the current one *daizey*

Ohio is sooo much cheaper. When we realized that we were going to have to decide between NY and OH the obvious choice was Ohio. That particular house was less than $200,000. In Long Island it would be a $600,000 house easily. Looking at houses this summer (and we must've looked at hundreds and saw in person over 50) I was amazed at how much you could get for your money. And we were looking in the city too. Had we looked outside of Columbus the prices get cheaper. I hate to leave NY but it just makes so much more sense. The median prices on Long Island just hit $500,000!! Upstate NY is not quite as bad, but its still not practical. There's no way I could continue living here. Especially considering the salaries of my profession are an average difference of $1,000 between Long Island and Columbus. *daizey*

Haha, well, I guess it's not mine exactly nor was it really a birthday gift, but it's ours as of last night! Isn't it pretty?

He does, but he decided to leave the LZ, the area where they were supose to meet and head back up to the bridge while she headed down to meet him. Then she proceded to wait, give up, and then get lost for an hour before she finally found him again So he had plenty of time to stalk ya *daizey*

I haven't permanently. But Ohios basically my home when I'm not at school. So for now Im only there once a month, all of January, and breaks. Only a few more months till i'm there permanently and I couldn't be happier. Dorm life is really sucking at the moment! I'll become an official resident this January

actually, i think i can... i just put a new hardrive in it this weekend. The documents on the old hard drive should be enough to prove it was in working condition right up through the day i left for my flight. *daizey*

Thanks Derek, I'd be happy to get anything out of it. I have to go ahead and buy a new computer because I have to have one, but it would be nice to have some type of reinbursement at some point. I don'tmind (too much) about waiting, I just hope I do get something Thanks to you too Mary. I do have to say they were very nice on the phone. Very sympathetic and helped me all they could on the process of filing the claim, so Im going to kep my fingers crossed! I recently had glass break on a flight too-it was my only way of getting it to where it needed to get to-that was broken then too-but it was only worth $4 so it was ok. I travel a lot too, so yes, I have seen how they handle it and I already said it was probably stupid of me to check it....knowing that doesn't help me with the TSA claim process though. Flyangel- that's the exact thing that happened to me. It was wrapped carefully and i got back and everything was unpacked. and jsut thrown back in-and broken. I took picures of the suitcase condition when i brought it back, as well as picures of the laptop. I'm also not willing to let it go cause replacng this computers gonna be pricy I guess I just have to hope for the best. *daizey*

I came home from a trip today to find that something I had packed inside my checked bag had been damaged. Not just a little damaged, but some pretty major damage. I probably shouldn't have checked the item in the first place, but i had put it into a case and put the case into the center of my bag with plenty of padding around it, and the airline told me it was ok. TSA searched my bag and I believe it was during this time that the item (a laptop) got damaged. There are 3 very large, deep, dents in the back and the computer no longer functions. When I had left for the trip initially I had asked if checking the laptop would be ok, American Airlines assured me it would be fine. I called American and they won't cover it-they say they don't cover electronics. (I wish they had mentioned that when I asked if it was ok to check it) They forwarded me to TSA. TSA told me exactly what to do and how to go about filing a claim (they were very nice about me). Now all I have to do is wait 6-8 weeks to see what happend. They also advised me to file a claim with the airline anyway. Anyone have any experience with this type of thing? How was your outcome? Do you think they'll take resposibility for it? What a way to end a trip *daizey*
