    2 weeks notice

So for the past 3 years I have worked a crummy job at night to pay for my bills throughout college. This week I handed in my notice. Two weeks from today I will be a college graduate! No more long nights checking people out at the grocery store while attempting to study or do homework in between customers. No more disliking my job because I know I went to school for EXACTLY what I want to do for the rest of my life. No more being in a place I have grown to dislike being in greatly. Two weeks from today I will be picking my life up and moving it halfway across the country-away from nearly everything I know. I'm so excited. I'm also petrified. I can't wait to graduate-and I especially can't wait to leave this job! I think the first thing I'll do is take a nap. A very long nap. *daizey*

    Wisdom teeth....

I had mine out in November-all 4 at once as well. I had the IV sedatiion, thank god. I'm the same dentsits and I don't get along. Be careful to do exactly what they say so you don't develop dry sockets. They hurt like hell (speaking from experience I even did everything they said.) Believe it or not theres a few threads on here about it. Do a search and you'll find a ton....then again, I read them before I had mine out and I think it just scared me more. Enjoy the vicodin Oh, and be sure you take it with plenty of food, otherwise its not so pleasant on the stomach! *daizey*
  3. At the dz I learned at they did. I did the majority of my student jumps on a sabre 170.... *daizey*

  10. So, I'm teaching 4th grade now and we received some reading tests about a week ago that we were supose to be administering. I never bothered to look at it until today when I was getting ready to pass it out. I glanced down at it and was like, hey, cool! Not sure what skydiving has to do with fourth grade reading strategies, but it brightened my day
  11. Just watched it here on the eaast coast....pretty interesting...they had the girls attempting to model in the tunnel....pretty comical actually!! haha The show's on UPN...or CW as its called now, I think *daizey*
  12. Everything you described up until the actual jump was about what I feel ALL the time. Particularly on the first jump of the day. Until I get in the door of the plane, then I seem to forget everything and I love it. It's kind of a strange feeling. I'll look for excuses not to jump or try and convince myself not to. Sometimes on the plan I even think to myself that I want to land with the plane. As soon as I jump though everythng leaves and I enjoy the rest of the day. I think for me persoanlly it has a lot to do with my fear of failing. Once I have a successful jump, my confidence is back and I can enjoy it. Of course, thinking back on it, if I have a bad jump, sometimes I'm like I'm done, no more jumping for me. But once I have a good jump, I love skydiving again and don't want to stop. I was always like why the heck to I feel like this?! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks like that though! I hope as I continue to jump more these feelings go away more and more. *daizey*
  13. This is pretty fitting for me as well. And lately I've been just too busy to be neat. *daizey*
  14. Phantom of the Opera is definitely my favorite, followed closely by Le Miserables... One of the kids in the 4th grade class next to mine is in Les Mis. Talk about a great opportunity for a 10 year old! *daizey*
  15. Hey, over these past few days I've come to feel like a disillusioned teacher too We'd have something in common lol *daizey*
  16. Exactly. Men trust women to take it, why shouldn't it be the same the other way around? *daizey*
  17. Good luck! I'm going to have to take this test soon too. I'm not looking forward to it! I hope it goes well for you! *daizey*
  18. HAHA. This could not be more true. I will never forget as a kid pointing and looking at people and my mom always telling me, shhh don't look, you're gonna get shot LOL. When we went on school trips we werent allowed to look out the windows when driving thru certain areas of the city. hehe. 'Course it's not seriously that bad, but it's definitely a rule around here haha. As many have said the city is very fast paced. In a slower environment there is time to hold a door open. In NYC, you are already halfway down the street before the door has even closed! However, there are people who are not just in a rush but just downright rude and nasty. That being said, I would not say the city as a whole is crude-nor completely impolite. Find the right person and they will help you with anything you need. Find the wrong person and expect to be ignored or get a rude reply. This also can entirely be due to the part of town you are in. The busier parts of town (take midtown/ Times Square/ Grand Central/ Penn Station/ etc.) hold a completely different group of people than other areas of the city. Travel a few blocks away and the atmosphere is totally different. I'm from the NYC area, and there are times when I am either personally rushing or being rushed and am simply not always able to be polite. However, if you were to meet me you would see that I'm one of the nicest, polite people possible. I'm this way at the dz too. It's simply not possible to be this way in NYC though Sorry you had a bad experience there. I am moving away in a few months, and while I'm not going to miss the rudeness and the rushing, busy lifestyle, I will deeply miss the city-it holds so much entertainment, culture, and is just simply and amazing environment.
  19. I would love to, but I don't think it's going to fit into my schedule tonight. I do need to get there soon though! I've been meaning to for close to 3 years now! *daizey*

    Steak & Shake

I've never had their food, but that double chocoloate shake is delicious!! During the summer when i was in Ohio, we used to go there a lot to get shakes- especially on the way home from the dz. Unfortunateley (or maybe fortunately) I'm back in New York and I don't believe we have any here. *daizey*
  22. 4 wisdom teeth removed: 0: 0 Ouch. That is all I have to say *daizey*
  23. I wil never forget when my cat first caught a mouse. Or when he dropped it on my pillow the first time. Or when I discovered a mouse's head in his food dish. I was disgusted. I even posted about it. Last thing I saw him catch was a baby bunny. Brought it to the door in our kitchen as we were sitting down eating dinner. I guesss he wanted to contribute to dinner. He was so proud. Each of these times it was all I could do not to yell at him! Now that we live in the city its a bit harder for him to catch baby bunnies. And luckily he hasn't discovered any mice in our new house! *daizey*
