  2. I also agree that the speed course should be changed. 10ft gates are the handicap, distance should be the same. It is even more important that the distance should be extended, when at Nationals is will be same distance for open and intermediate competitors. My 1st Nationals that was a difficult change. IMO
  3. Ok someone needs to explain how the f*** you don't get line dump from this...... The way I understand line dump. When lines come out of the stows uneven, inside lines before lines beside rubber band. That causes the the canopy to open uneven. If all the lines are extracted evenly then no line dump occurs.
  4. I wouldn't worry about line dump. Tail pockets work fine for terminal BASE jumps. I know that the tail pockets work on base canopies. But I believe our reserve freebags are similar, fig 8 the lines with only locking stow.... right???
  5. I'd like to say Congrats to all who got to the try-outs. The folks the made the cut are outstanding people, as the alternates are too. I am proud to have been in the sky and comps with all of the, and all that were there. I love the fact that the PDFT are very approachable, so they had to choose members that are the same way (as they did). CONGRATS again

I have used the Radiator and wraptor and now I jump with the rockstar. I have been happy with all 3 styles... :):):)
  7. Good Luck and I hope everyone has a GREAT and SAFE comp. Ian, Hans told me over the weekend that he is going to aggravate you the whole plane ride there, including spit balls :) Hope you and Annie have a great time there too....
  8. Like it was posted, vector 3 comes with and can be retro fitted. Javelin is available with the same skyhook as UPT. Not sure about the retro fit. Rigger Ryan prob knows. The Mirage last I heard has not gotten it ready for distribution. Personally Would rather it be in the market place for a period before buying one for myself.
  9. Hey Dave, I thinks it the country fried steak you have to watch out for :) I have been jumpin 750 vectran, and just got relined with 280 jumps on the line set. That's what led to my cut a way at nationals. Slider was hangin all the way up, kinda like it was stuck. PD told me wear I had looked more like 600 jumps.... Kolla is the one to ask, Robin Miller was a great help too. Good luck :D Hope to see ya soon Steve
  10. Just to add 2 cents...."Tandems are not just another skydive" TI's don't have the mobility of any other discipline. So the camera flyer has to have skills. I have told jumpers with more than 2000 skydives they can not lurk my tandem student. But if they have skills and I know they will do exactly what I want them to do and I have jumped with that person, I have let people with less than the recommended 500 go with me and/or video
  11. [The advantage (from a collision point of view) is that in a 180, you can see early enough into the turn to bail] I don't agree with this. I believe on a 180 you are lower and turn quicker with less margin for error. On a 270, you have more time to see and bail to alternate area. The turn is started higher with the ability to see the normal traffic pattern. 180 is not a normal downwind, base leg set up which does not allow you to see all that is going on.
  12. If you are jumping a 135, why do you want to consider a 97. When downsizing, one size at a time is the best way to go. Learn the canopy (everything about it) before making 1 step down. With a wing suit bigger less twitchy is better. I think going from a 135 to a 107 is to much of a jump. The 120 is a better idea when your ready to step down a size :)
  13. Thanks, It has been a rewarding year in several ways.
  14. ....I am coming after you Steve... watch out !! xoxoxo Bring it on. I am feeling like I am finally getting dialed in. Hit all entry gates for the Nationals :D WOO HOO
  15. I have already been thinking, planning, and desiring next season. I am hoping to make all the events this year. Surf's up, let go play :D
  16. Glad to have met you Dave, hope all is ok in Aggieland :D I luv the all you can eats, I do have to say that my w/l is down .2 from last year :-) Hans with a 2.44 speed round, I think it was Moritz Friess that got the same speed time, congrats to him. Kev Love took 2nd in the PST was really awesome and winning distance at Nationals. All the Farm boys did good. Congrats to Hans, Kevin, Ian, Sunman. We have a new pro card holder in LOUD DAN.... woo hooo
  17. i've tried the 22" and jumped 25" for a season. This season I have been jumping 28's. I like that I can pull the shit out of them get good acceleration. I have noticed from 25 to 28 I can pull deep and faster
  18. Here are the rings. PD inspected the lines and rings and said they approve of the rings not damaging the lines... :)
  19. Here is a pic of the slider Joe made for me and the rings. I have well over 300 jumps on this slider and really like it...
  20. I have Joe's system and really like it. I did have him change the yellow cable thru the slider, to having the center with (I think) dacron line. The opening smoothed out even more and easy to grab. Joe is also great about servicing his product. I have used it on a Rage 155 as well as my Velo 120. I have heard its just as good on the JVX. Hope this helps.
  21. I also do tandem vids, there is another benefit, and that is if or when you slider comes over your slinks and on top of your camera, you don't have to fight to get it off. Or when your slider comes over one toggle and not the other, it is quicker and safer to fix. I'll take an extra min or 2 packing to save time in the air to pull and slam in down my jumpsuit, instead of collapsing and stowing my slider :)
  22. lmao.....glad that I could help. Thanks for blowing a kiss to me and ..... hahah
  23. Pia, I had over 2000 jumps before I got under a Velo. I stayed on 2 different 190's for over 700 jumps at a wing loading of about 1.6 to 1.7, and still went thru 2 more canopy sizes before my velo120. On my 190 Stiletto i could make a 200 foot speed course on 10' gates (barely, but I did)...
  24. I've given up on the person you're referring to. Some people, will never ever listen, no matter how much they pretend that they will. I agree, at least NexGenSkydiver seems to be listening to solid advice presented by you, Al, and other pros here
  25. I wish someone else that competed this weekend could grasp half this information. Take the time like you said to learn a canopy, instead says he needs to downsize.
