any idea what comes with a demo canopy from pd? does it come with d bag/ tail pocket and/or Pilot chute, Risers?

It should come ready to jump. Some of them have better riser setups than others, and some have d-bags while some have tail-pockets, but you should have what you need to jump.

I'm not sure about CReW canopies but I have an Order to demo a Sabre2 170 and if I'm not mistaken they said it was the canopy and risers only I had to provide the D-bag and pilot chute. Go to PD's web site and select demo they will contact you concerning the request.

A freefall canopy is different then a CRW, the retractible bridle and PC are built into the CRW canopy and the tailpocket/bag should be also.

I know they were different. I was just giving an example for the canopy that I will be domoing. Thats why I made the referral to PD's site for more info.

Doing the same for Z-hills. Will be at Lake Wales the whole week previous. Doing wind tunnel the previous Sunday then jumping throughout the day. I assume I can find some people for CRW jumps at Wales. I think my mentor is coming down but I'm too light for his 160. In the meantime...lots of pullups.

I don't know of any CRWDogs who jump at Lake Wales. You might give them a call and ask. Sebastian and ZHills are better bets.

Thanks, I'd love to participate in the Zhills boogie if I get the nod that I'm up to par. At least I'll be able to listen in on some stuff to learn. I'll head up there and see if I can talk someone into jumping with me. I'll email you about the "Freeze Your Buns Off" Boogie so I can get on the info list.

what I got from PD

Most all of our demo canopies are set up on mini risers (type 17) with mini
rings.
Some of the larger ones have the larger (type 8) risers, but we keep those with
mini rings as well.
We are currently in the process of updating the risers on all of our Lightnings
to be proper CRW risers, right now they are about 50/50 CRW risers or just
regular type 8 risers, but all with mini rings, so you should be able to get
that hooked up to your container :)

However, the Lightning packs up a bit larger than many similarly sized canopies,
so I would check with your container manufacturer to make sure that the 176 will
be a good and safe fit.

The demo canopies are available on a first come, first serve basis, we don't
reserve the demo canopies to certain dates, so you would have to check back with
me when it draws closer to the dates you need them to see about the availability
at that time.

The fee for the demo is $30.00, and that covers the shipping to you and the
inspection when we get the demo back. You pay for the return shipping of the
canopy.
The demos come on risers, but you need to put your own d-bag + pilot chute on
the canopy.
If you prefer to use your own risers, feel free to put the canopy on those, just
remember to ship our risers back with the demo.

You get to keep the demo for 2 weekends at a time, and please ship the canopy
back on time so we can send it to the next person that is waiting to try it.

We do need either a Visa or MasterCard credit card number, both to pay for the
demo and also to keep on file for while you have the demo.
If you don't like e-mailing your credit card number you can either call me with
it (386 738 2224) or fax it (386 734 8297).

Once you are ready to demo, you can go to our website and fill out a demo
request (http://www.performancedesigns.com/demorequest.asp), and I'll contact
you right back to let you know the availability and get any other information if
needed.
