clint 1 #1 November 11, 2004 I have search for the past week and I'm just wondering what camera you would buy. It's either the 105, 109, 335, 330? Which one and why? . I used to own a PC 7, 5, 101. The 101 was the best! Can anyone tell me where I can buy an old PC 9 or 101? They really were the best 2 camera's. Iput over 2000 on my PC 101. Miami 0 #2 November 11, 2004 PC330. Large lens allows more light and fits wide angle lenses I already own, uses same batteries I already own, digital still is good enough I can get rid of the digital still camera I use around the house, and good video quality. Hope this helps...Miami
Deuce 1 #3 November 12, 2004 I think for most all purposes, the one that has an objective lens that matches the wideangles you already have. I scarfed up a second PC120 when they obsoleted them, when Sony stops making a camera they seem to just evaporate. I don't think you'll have much luck finding a 330. Clarkey 0 #6 November 12, 2004 Side Mount: PC330. I like the 350 as well, but in general I am happy to take the slightly heavier 330 so that the firewire & A/V connections are on-board (rather than via the docking station) Top Mount: HC1000... 3 Chip Quality! mr2mk1g 10 #7 November 12, 2004 PC 101 or PC 105. Cheap as chips now and have everything we need. Most newer camera's haven't actually added anything and in some cases have taken away. E-bay's your best bet for finding one. Always snipe. That's if I was going for value for money mind... if I wanted the best on the market and didn’t mind paying for it, I'd get a 330. flylikeahandbag 0 #8 November 12, 2004 105 not that much different to a 101. 105 has few more features. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
ifics 0 #9 November 12, 2004 I would buy the 330 but I cant find it ANYWHERE!!! I might settle for the 350 seeing how I have no chance of finding my original choice...

jeiber 0 #11 November 12, 2004 I just picked up a pc109, and love it so far. Yes, it's small size and weight is an obvious plus, but something I haven't seen anyone else mention is the 25mm lens. I picked up a 'universal' .5x wide angle at Best Buy - it's actually a .43x with a macro lens and various size stepdown rings, thereby making it a .5x. The key here is that it's a bigger lens with a stepdown ring, so if I remove the macro lens, the .43x (fisheye) doesn't vignette. Two lenses in one package for around $35. Yes, the camera was expensive, but it's not just for skydiving. The only thing I don't really like about it is that the firewire is in the base unit, so I need to remove the camera from the helmet to firewire. JeffShhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
lewmonst 0 #12 November 13, 2004 QuoteWhat do you mean you can't find it. It's everywhere! - yeah? where? Help us and post a phone number of a place that has it in stock. Lots of places online still list it, but the fact is it's discontinued and they are out of stock but have not updated their websites... I hope I'm wrong, because I know several people who'd jump at the chance to buy one if they could find one. Let us know if you have any info we don't. I_luv_beer 0 #14 November 13, 2004 QuoteI just picked up a pc109......I haven't seen anyone else mention is the 25mm lens. Is that just for fitting lenses then? From what I've read the others have a 37mm lense which being bigger captures more light, hence giving better recording. PROGRESSIVE 0 #17 November 14, 2004 I just purchased a Sony PC350, on line for $940.00. I've been searching a camera that can do decent stills and video. My primary purpose is for hang gliding tandems, photos only, and video for skydiving. I plan on getting a printer in my vehicle so after doing a tandem hang glide, I can sell the stills to the customer. I also plan on doing videos for skydiving so I can maybe, possibly, hopefully get my skydives paid for...we'll see. The PC 350 seems to have all the qualities I need, but I am new at the photo end of it. I still need to know what vignette, and fire wire mean.

lewmonst 0 #19 November 14, 2004 QuoteI still need to know what vignette, and fire wire mean. Vignette is when the wide angle lense used creates an affect where the corners of the image are lost (black). Looky here: http://www.royal-lens.com/vignette.htm Firewire can be a verb or a noun. "to firewire" (when we talk about it with skydiving video) is to transfer digital video from one source to another (camera to camera, or camera to computer, etc...). A "firewire" is commonly said refering to the cable itself we use. lewmonst 0 #24 November 15, 2004 QuoteGo to the websites that I listed and call them. - No, see, you're not reading everything I wrote... QuoteDid you actually call them or try to order one? I did. And unless something has changed in 3 weeks, no one had any. I did call them, back when I was looking for one. So I'll ask again, did you call them? If not, then don't claim they have one. This is silly. Neither of us need one anymore. I was hoping your claim to actually have found one (New, not on Ebay, and NTSC, NOT PAL) for the others on here looking for one. By the way, the one you posted a non-clicky link to, is a PC330E, which is the PAL version. The seller dodges the question by saying "I believe it works with both pal and NTSC". However, for anyone really still looking for one, there actually are a few 330's on ebay right now if you want to take your chances. peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
clint 1 #25 November 16, 2004 Hey, I just posted that I saw several online. Your getting on my case because I didn't know that they didn't have any in stock. I never said that they HAD one. I said that these places online had them. Then you said none of them have them. That was news to me? I didn't know. So excuse me for not being on top of things. But your right if that's what you want to hear. There are not many around.
