Where is this sign located?

Recommended Posts

Ok now I may have to shoot someone...
That was my first thought.

I have been mistaken before.... But still, its a historical intersection in skydiving.
I was told many years ago that Sabre St. was named after the canopy. But, now I must consider the source. It would make more sense to be a jet, wouldnt it?

So you obviously know where it is (epecially with my other post's). So, off to strangle someone.......................

Well, I found it, but I still don't know what the story is. I've taken a lot of pictures in front of a sign really similar to the second picture you posted, so I'm pretty curious. :)
Edit: I see that the first 36-way and first 100-way were held nearby...

Hi Dave,
Sounds like it might be at Edwards AFB.

Hi Bill,
Nope, not Edwards. Most of the roads are named after dead test pilots. except for Yeager bulv. He was just here couple of weeks ago and he looked very much alive. Both names are two of North American Aviation finest planes.

Only the good die young, so I have found immortality,

See J!!!!!!!

I told you we should have restricted it to those under 35 ;)

For extra points smart guy,

Name the Aussie who ran Skydive Skydance.

And for even more points,

How many pea pits are there and where are they?

:D

Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Two. One out from the front of the ramp in the photo, and one far out to the right of the ramp.

What do I win?

Would this happen to be at that airport in Oklahoma you are visting?

Why is there a CPI logo there?

Yes Muskogee Ok.

The CPi sticker was left on the window of the building on Sabre street. It has been there at least 15 years ago, my guess is probably many more. This building was a the "hangout" for the jumpers after competitions. Cant beleive no one has named it yet.

It is the only sticker I saw on the building, they even opened it up for me when I was there iin July. Pretty cool being the fisrt jumper to walk back in there after 15 years.
