Meanwhile I have recently:
-Acquired DVDs of (I think) every episode of Ripcord produced;
[...]
(But I'm not saying anything else just nowB|.)

Well I hope you can tell us something soon.

I thought a lot of people had been interested in copies of Ripcord but nobody had ever mentioned actually knowing where any existed!

Id still like to see the video of Bob Sinclair taking Johnny Carson for his 1st for the Tonight Show... The Only pic ive seen was in the "skydivers Book" when it covered some history events in Skydiving....

Terry I am surprised you didnt have any Ted Pullum Custom plastic handles. He was from Schwartz Creek west of Flint and worked a A.C. spark Plug. You told him your canopy colors and he would have a laminated set back to you next week-end. Guarenteed accuracy built in never miss the DZ again. Looking through stuff yesterday I found the original Baby Plane and Para-Plane 3/4 od by 3inch long white nylon toggles. The kind with the hole down one side for loop you popped your brakes loose from the independent brake line attachment that you tied knots in to slow your opening.
On Ripcord itself I have a copy of the book and I quote it when a way way to early canopy down sizer crashes being way way too cool. It says "The jumpers with their brightly colored costumes landing with the grace and dignity of a clown falling out of a tree"j rest of the book has other memorable quotes too.

Those fancy handles must not have made it to this side of the state. Never saw any.

I also used a small reserve toggle as a closing aid on my pull up cord (along with two feet) when putting my strato cloud into my prototype SST built for a strato star.:o;)

> when you guys were jumping with rocks

No, no, the stone parachutes were before this.

In the early 60s we were jumping wooden parachutes.

And I'm here to tell you that sometimes getting those
things into the box was a real bear!

My first jumpsuit was a pair of Sear's Carpenter
Coveralls, complete with loops for hammer and
saw and other stuff you needed.

Although the hammer was mostly needed in case
you had a nail-over, which was a particularly nasty
malfunction.

Gotta keep those historical facts straight.

Hi Scratch,
'Remember the Sears Coveralls and dont forget the "comshawed" flight suit!! Cop one fron the surplus store or from a buddy in the military!! I copped a couple from some guys in my old CAP unit. The O.D. or Sage Green ones were OK but the international Orange ones were the head turners. They also had a bunch of pockets to stash things and a coolie pocket on the upper left sleeve to stash your cigarettes!!

Dude, that was awesome. They even saved the little girl and her daddy. I liked the little plug for skydiving at the end. Seven years old and I was totally hooked.

I like the way he talked his partner into going on the jump. (Paraphrased)

TED "What about the little girl... they can't last long?"

JIM "Sorry but no"

TED "Skydiving by radar.....
I betcha its never been done before... :D
I gonna give it a whirl.. You can pass..."

JIM "That'll be the day... Im jumping with you"

My favorite quote
